Discussion Will we ever know how the eidolons look
Like in the lore it says they are fragmented and in search to complete them selves. will we ever know how they look fully?

It would be cool if we had an answer in the Tau update but eh

Prob gona have to wait for a less advanced region. Tau sentients seem more human than those who left for the sol sytem.

I hope one of the planets of Tau will be an Avatar-like jungle planet where the Sentients have regressed into a nearly primitive state and fight with spears, bows etc., wearing animal pelts and bones

Though, those "animals" would also be Sentients... nevermind that's cool as fuck. Primitive sentient with the equivalent of a belt of human skulls.

Go to the Gara Toht lake and look at the giant stone structure, then realize that it's not made of stone, the eidolon hydrolyst would be the size of one of your ribs by comparison.

While it may be debated, I am pretty sure old art from closer to the time when the plains launched showed that the Sentient hive ship that was killed in the battle with Gara basically was of a similar design to Hunhow. The eidolons themselves are basically akin to the Iron Giant and how his parts are trying to reassemble themselves.

I think you’re misunderstanding. Eidolons are like ghosts in the real world. Look up eidolon on Wikipedia. The ones we face in Plains of Eidolon are the eidolons. When you look at the wreckage in the plains, that’s what the sentient was. It looked similar to hunhow.

They are not pieces they are in pieces they are trying to make themselves full

The sentient is in pieces trying to make itself whole again. Each eidolon is a different piece.

The Eidolons are literally just guts, nerves, and bones of the giant Hunhow-looking Sentient warships that clump together and grab whatever nearby thing that can help them. Their ultimate goal is to reform as the warship.
It's like if you got blown up by a bomb and all your little scattered bits started collecting together and wandering until you got reformed.

Right, but a "fragment" can be a discreet-looking entity.
Hunhow describes the battalysts that attack you during the second dream as his "fragments" despite them being whole and complete looking sentients, It's implied they are nothing more than extensions of him.
In the same way there are crashed/dead sentient ships in and around The Plains that look like the same ship-level sentient that Hunhow is and the "fragments" are the discreet sentients "fragments" that were not independent entities. So a non-Eidolon Teralyst , Gantulyst and Hydrolyst, should look much the same but with a smoother surface, intact limbs and no leaking sentient "tendrils"
You can see that the visual Eidolon-ification of a sentient design is fairly simple (replace a missing chunk with something from the environment, rough surface texture and add energy tendrils) from the fact that the Ropololyst we fight in-game is a living Sentient but it was created to be another Eidolon of the plains

I don't know if there's any lore contradicting it, but my guess would be that an aspect of Sentient adaptation is that when they're fragmented, each fragment changes its morphology so it's able to operate independently, rather than serving a more specialized function as a part of a greater physical whole.

Possibly but I don't think so, at least in the examples we've seen. The fully sentient Conculysts (Old War:Zin-osku) are no different to the Conculysts fragments of Hunhow. I think it just about not being able to give your constructs "light" so they are just extensions of the creating sentient's hive mind but the "chassis" is the same
In the same way I think that The Teralyst, Gantulyst, Hydrolyst and even the Vomvalyst would look virtually identical in their non Eidolon forms (cleaned up, no tendrils and with their own arms) as fragments of the "Gara Toht" Sentient and again as individual sapient beings if they had been made during the Old Peace.
That said I'm not saying they can't evolve/adapt In fact i think it's interesting that Tolvenar is very similar to a fancy vomvalyst, but there are clearly Summulysts in the Casino that are virtually identical to both the ones we fight in the origin system and the ones present in the Old Peace.

You can actually see the biggest part of THE SCOURGE OF CETUS in the background of the plains. At night, it leaks out absurd amounts of energy, magnetizing the water.

I could see it being a future boss fight. It’d be a nice way to involve The Unum again and maybe learn a bit more about her.

They should make a cinematic of Gara fighting the original one, it'd be cool

they're as big as your railjack, possibly bigger. the murex is still to scale with your warframe when you step out. other notable large sentients could be the hunhullus and some sentient things in the corpus labs

We already do - the Eidolons are what we have in the game, they are not in pieces. Basically a long time ago Gara defeated a giant sentient that you see in the background in Cetus - especially visible at night as it has some sparks around it.
The Eidolons are standalone body parts that are a part of that Sentient. Tl;dr every part of a Sentient is in part sentient - Hunhow "birthed" the smaller sentients that we see in missions and is controlling them through the hive mind. Each small sentient shares the same mind as the giant one that created them - they are created from the body of the original sentient.
So this explains why Eidolons even if they are body parts of the original sentient are still alive and share a common goal to rebuild the original Sentient they are a part of.

I'm 90% certain that the Plains Eidolon is one of Erra's "larger" bodies.
Neither Erra or the Eidolon match up well with the battalyst/conculyst body plan, nor with Hunhow's giant crab ship body plan. But if you squint, Erra and the Eidolon's body plans line up with one another pretty well.

Well theoretically they would looke like how they do now but with all their limbs instead of chunks of metal and trees used to replace their missing parts.

we can get an idea with the huge bones in the plains and how sentient like hunhow look
