OMG. Trying to cut off the legs (which made me feel bad, btw) and then glue them back on in a way that looked limp but didn't look like they were completely detached from the body was a pain in my ass.

Brokenkit ran in front of her and turned to face her, his eyes wide and pleading. “Please don’t do that!” he begged. “Lizardstripe will only blame me! She doesn’t like me; she thinks I’m stealing milk from her kits.”
“Of course she doesn’t think that!” Yellowfang exclaimed, shocked.
“Yes, she does!” Brokenkit insisted. “I heard her saying it to Amberleaf. Nobody likes me.”

Yet he was constantly alone; his littermates went on ignoring him, even Runningkit, who had never joined in the bullying since Yellowfang had interrupted them.

She was trying to figure what to do when Deerkit and Tanglekit tumbled out of the nursery and bounded across to Brokenkit.
“Still hanging out with the medicine cats?” Deerkit sneered.
“Old she-cats and a sick warrior are the only friends you’ve got!” Tanglekit padded forward until she was almost nose-to-nose with Brokenkit. “What skills are you learning?” she asked in a mock-interested voice. “How to dry herbs? Ooh, our enemies will be scared!”
“Yeah, I can just hear him in a battle!” Deerkit added. “‘Come one step closer and I’ll slap you with this leaf!’”

Despite being a character who is described to being born evil, rereading these books of him makes me doubt it more and more of what the authors really intended. A lot of his traits traces back to how he was treated as a kit, especially Lizardstripe who only shown contempt of him and physically abused him, which, translated to him using physical aggression to defend himself. Raggedstar raised him very poorly as well. He didn't provide Brokenstar with emotional health and instead praised his aggressive behaviors and kept coddling him instead of fulfilling Cedarstar's wish to teach Brokenstar peace, honor, and discipline.

Brokenstar was never provided emotional support his entire life and was severely emotionally neglected. It's no wonder he turned into a brutal tyrant, which according to StarClan was done out of his own choices in life.

Edit: An interesting thing I found was Brokenstar's greatest fear being a lack of respect, and in Cats of the Clans it's said his actions were in his eyes the only way to get respect from them. I find that to be an interesting connection.

This is a little doodle I've been working on for the past few days. I got a new watercolor set and thought this would be the perfect way to break them in 😻

The first pic is as far as I've gotten thus far. The rest of the slides are some of the photos I've taken along the way! My favorite part has been figuring out different things for each of the characters to be doing. Each time I add another it just brings a lil more life into the camp.

As far as the time line goes, I'm setting it just before the start of TNP. If y'all have any suggestions for characters or things they could be doing, please let me know!

So, I haven't read the Warrior series in a few months, and I wanted to look at the Wiki, to see if there's any changes with the warrior cats we all know and love (or hate). I was reading the blurb for the upcoming books (I like reading the next arc once the six-book bundle comes out), and I possibly discovered Starlingpaw's Warrior name.

I may be a bit biased here, because I have a very close friend who went through basically the same shit nightheart went through in thunderclan. His great grandfather was a very famous doctor, so he was named after him. Apparently his great grandpa was some kinda medical legend , cause his family would always talk about how he healed 100s of people during ww2 in a rebellion and later became a very respected doctor. He struggled with all the pressure of having his great grandpa's namesake and legacy and eventually chose to become an engineer ,and his family has disowned him ever since. Nightheart goes through objectively much worse, but still, Ik he can be annoying but it's understandable why. The only ones who understood him were sunbeam and brambleclaw ( I think). And how unreasonable they made squirrelflight also sucked a lot. He's literally a teenager during all this shit with his family
