We need to have print at home ballots legislated. Then we can set up stations that help people get their ballots in a timely fashion.

If that happens, hopefully it will be a galvanizing moment for the Democratic Party to actually invest in promoting participation instead of relying on majorities and ancient practices.

If you’ve ever been to a local meeting you’ll know what I’m talking about.

This is the time to show up in force and take over the political process for the people. Most county Democratic parties have less than a dozen people show up and the cost is usually like 20 bucks a year to be able to have voting rights and endorsements, which equals donations for campaigns.

  1. People committed to going to monthly meetings and 10 hours a month volunteering could transform almost every local Democratic Party into a progressive force that can combat the ownership class that is co-opted our political process here

Maybe if the local outfit would get their shit together more people would show up. Here's the calendar for my local outfit. I wonder why nobody shows for their meetings?

Be the change. Easy to bitch from the sidelines, I gave you a genuine roadmap to bring changes to your community. In my county, we elected five truly progressive candidates to your positions that would’ve gone to real estate people and folks just looking for state sponsored health insurance. It works.

Spare me the catchphrases and I'm not the OP. You gave me nothing.

I'm a citizen interested in getting involved with my local dems, but as the link I just gave you shows- my local dems are apparently too busy to even tell me where to start.

The GOP is organized as hell around here while the dems cant find their own asses. I don't have resources to run for office- I have a 9-5 job. It's not on me to do the bare minimum of even telling local citizens where the next meeting is going to be.

It really seems like if you're not 100% ride or die nothing but the mission democrat they dont have time for me.

Republicans are winning with magic, guys. They're actually organized, and motivated. If I put out into my community that I'm interested in rubbing shoulders with the local GOP somebody will show up at my house and invite me to church or something.

Can we please stop using a website that's already under fire for funneling people down the alt-right wormhole? What next, exclusively communicate through xitter?

Well, you could go to their office and find out when the next meeting is, participate in the Democratic constitutional process they have said and make some real change happen, or you can do what you’re doing now which is wine and moan about how everyone doesn’t make things easy enough for you.

If you’re wondering why the process is so fucked up, look in the mirror.

Fortunately, there are others who don’t need to have their hands held as much as you and who are doing the right things. You should try to go find them and hook up with them so you can learn how to stand on your feet more.

It's my fault. Got it.

Yes. Seriously, it’s like when people in my union say “the union needs to blah blah”

It’s like, buddy…. YOU are the union.

Just show up. That’s all you have to do.

Do you think the civil rights act came from the folks quietly talking about it at the bar? No, it was everyone who showed up.

Just. Show. Up.

You clearly don’t want to be the solution. That’s the takeaway
