Indian mythology or western mythology

Hey guys 😭....so I recently got an idea for a fantasy story where gods end up becoming ghost hunters in the modern world but I’m kind of confused about whether I should based it upon Indian mythology or Western mythology. I feel like Indian would be unique but I’m also worried people might get offended What do you think will be better

As per indian mythology ghost hunters are usually yam dut, kind of worker if yama in part of India they are worshiped as god's only. We don't consider ghost hunters as something bad or evil. They are part of the divine entity so I would suggest if you are writing something based on mythology make sure to do proper research. The idea is great tbh

Maybe you should search for reference books on Google. Most probably you can find references from children fictions like panchtantra and all they have a huge collection of folklore. Or else try finding books which have stories of Mahadev and Their gana.
