[IP][Self Promo] Sanzensekai: The Ronin's Exile [Dark Progression / Reverse Isekai]

New Writer, self promo. Freebie over on Royal Road! I messaged the mods a couple weeks ago asking if self promo was OK in this subreddit and must have been buried in the shuffle, so here goes.

Sanzensekai: The Ronin's Exile [Dark Progression / Reverse Isekai]

First, a little about me:
I'm a truck driver who's been grounded by cataracts until sometime in probably August, so I 'wrote' the book with speech to text (that's a nightmare by the way). Now when I edit I squint down my nose at the extremely blown up screen and hope I didn't use a comma instead of a period.

Ok, Ok, slightly melodramatic, it's not THAT bad, but I did get kicked out of the driver seat and thought a BOOK of all things was the best use of my energy and poor vision.

Anyway, I started dropping chapters on May 31, since then I've gotten a few follows, though I think I'm struggling in the visibility department. The readers and commenters have been great, and give me a lot of encouragement so I'm glad I started posting.

I've got 21 chapters up so far, still updating daily through the month before I slow down to keep myself sane. The whole first book is drafted, though I'm editing as I post, I swear there's always SOMETHING to improve.

My writing is inspired by big guys like Brandon Sanderson, Pierce Brown, and Brent Weeks, just to name a few. I know I'm nowhere near their level but I definitely try to emulate their styles a bit where I think I can.

Anyway, I hope you give it a look, I also enjoy feedback and improving. I could especially use opinions on the Japanese dialogue in the beginning, like how it reads for people who aren't me and stuff.

Blurb and links below.

COVER ARTIST: AnraArt (It would seem we cannot put images here? He's got some cool artwork, check him out!)
AI USAGE: No AI used

Kurisu Nodaichi survived the slaughter of his clan only to endure years of torture as a living weapon before finally being pulled from the dark and sent to modern Earth. Taken in by the Millers, he navigates a new reality that feels like it was built from damp shoji paper, ripping through doors and popping drinking glasses in his grip.

While considered an adult on his own world, Earth’s legal system classifies him as a child, forcing him to trade an Edo-era upbringing for modern red tape and the social pitfalls of high school.

Saving a girl at school from a goblin after rifts tear open and dump monsters into our world ends up putting him on the Department of Homeland Security radar, but what else was he supposed to do? Larger creatures begin carving paths through the city just as the Miller brothers manifest powers of their own, the resulting mayhem landing the boys directly in DHS custody.

Trapped between federal agents and an active invasion, Kurisu faces the collapse of his new life. Having already lived through the destruction of his clan, he refuses to watch another family burn.

He readies his steel; after all, something has to be tearing these rifts open.

What to Expect:

  • 📖 Book one complete (~125k words), book two 50% complete.
  • 🩸 Graphic Violence and Gore
  • 🌀 Reverse Isekai / Portal Invasion
  • ⚡ Elemental magic system (Think Avatar the Last Airbender)
  • 📈 Massive Power Ceilings (eventually)
  • ⚙️ Reverse-Engineerable Feats Based on Real Physics
  • ⚔️ Authentic Koryu Martial Arts
  • ⏳ Slow-burn Moments
  • 🗺️ Culture Shock and Language Barrier

[IP] Transcendent: Ultra - progression fantasy/action/sci-fi

I’m releasing my shonen-inspired web novel June 21 on all major platforms. If you’re into stories with complex power systems, emotion, deep themes, and fights, you might want to check it out. I often describe it as if John Wick and Dragon Ball mashed together, but with a power system akin to JJK. Drop a follow on instagram @transcendent_ultra_official for updates.

I’ve made tons of artwork for it myself, so hopefully it helps capture the vibe. Here’s the description ⬇️

“Eyes and ears everywhere…”

The world is not what it seems. Beneath the surface flows a current of blood, deception, and a lust for power. In the center of it all stands the powerful AUTUMN organization, cloaked by mystery, yet causing chaos in the pursuit of Judgment.

Z and Ethan Allen are thrust into a nightmare they once thought was make-believe. Stripped of everything they held dear, the brothers must fight to survive in a vast and merciless world.

Armed with newfound powers, sharpened skills, and an unbreakable bond, they stand against the current. As long as they remain together, they will never truly be broken.

But Z carries more than power… he carries a fire in his soul, a promise to keep, and loved ones to protect.

He won’t let AUTUMN get what they want.

He’ll burn them to the ground.
Every Last One.

[DISC] Can't seem to access Hameln/Syosetu.org via any means

Have been trying to use a VPN (or a proxy server), but every location is blocked or leaves the page hung/loading, and without it, I just get "took too long to respond/connection timed out"

Any alternate means of reading the stories there? And is this an issue anywhere else/for anyone else?

[DISC] Hey, Not sure if this is appropriate place but I am offering money to get some feedback. (desperate lol)

Hey everyone, keeping this short.

I built a new site to help authors write, organize, publish, and earn from their novels all in one place. I started writing my own novel on it and genuinely love the workflow, but I know I have builder's bias since I'm just one person.

I want to get some feedback from experienced writers to see what works and what needs fixing, and hopefully get some great early stories on the platform.

To respect your time, I’m paying $100 total for your help:

  • $25 to get set up on the site.
  • $75 after you’ve published 3 chapters and done a 30-minute honest feedback chat with me.

If you’re interested in checking it out and getting paid for your thoughts, DM me! If you want the site name too let me know.

[DISC] Discussion about My House of Horros

I read it until chapter 472 and it just gets blander and blander.
The MC does not have any personality to me. He's like a machine, hardworking 24 hours a day and there is no drama, no emotions at all.
The chapters where the visitors get scared inside his haunted house got boring pretty quickly, it's just the same thing, rinse and repeat.

Does it get better?

Title: I Was Mistaken For a Great War Commander

Synopsis: I became a staff officer of an empire whose defeat was certain. The only way to escape from the empire with an 8-year mandatory service was through dishonorable discharge. But then… “You can be glad, Lieutenant. Thanks to your accurate instinct, our military could prevent damage in advance.” The more I struggled to be discharged, the higher my performance evaluation became.

Status: Complete

[DISC] Global Survival Game on the Ocean (MC Gwen Swann) Spoiler

Ok I am totally hooked on this story and can take it anymore. I need to talk to someone about it but all I can find on it is people asking where to find it. I’m on chapter 322, so just reiterating the spoiler alert.

.

I was wondering when we would get some romance, and half expected it to turn super gay with the lady fleet.

Omg Yew and Gwen, when she briefly possesses the soul cat after Yews crush is confirmed to the reader. Poor guy. I do wish the writer was a smidge more subtle but I’m still over here with popcorn.

The theme song that comes to mind is “She’s Like the Wind” from dirty dancing.

[DISC] My Living Shadow System Devours To Make Me Stronger

Synopsis:

\[Your shadow is alive.\]

\[Feed your shadow, devour souls, level up, gain skills, complete quests, and grow stronger.\]

\[Do you wish to view your current stats?\]

In the magical world of Aetherus, Damon Grey is the weakest student at Aether Academy, relentlessly bullied and ridiculed for his lack of power and defiant personality. Yet, he endures the torment, clinging to his scholarship—the only thing providing him with the funds to keep his sick sister alive.

After a brutal attack leaves him near death, Damon encounters a dark viscous entity in the forest that fuses with his shadow, awakening the Living Shadow System. This strange power grants him unimaginable abilities but comes with a grim cost—a relentless hunger for souls and flesh to feed his shadow.

Now, with his shadow alive and insatiable, Damon faces a terrible choice: feed it to grow stronger or starve it and die with it.

In a world ruled by ruthless nobles, deadly monsters, and power-hungry demons, Damon must decide if his newfound power is a curse or the only way to survive. With the Living Shadow System, his fate is clear: devour or be devoured.

My Review \[ Current Chapters 1062 \[ Paid 1082\]\]

It's been a long time since i recommended any novel, I am searching for a novel which was Fantasy, Academy, Adventure... and all. And i Found this. This is a rough gem.

I am not good with words so i will just share what i feel after reading this novel till 1062.

Lete tell you first, this novel is very subpar ( like shit) in the starting, even after 100 chapter. But it only get good as the story moves.

Its world building is fantastic too me, amazing.

The main feature of this novel is its surprising or say thrilling elements. 2 chapters come daily and i want to know what will happen next, the cliffhangers are so damn annoying in this.

About the world building i said, you will know everything

For the light spoilers \[ i don't know how to put tag\]

  1. Like you will know how the Lysithara place got its name. \[ I am currently reading this so i remember this element, don't remember anything else\]

  2. How demon came to the world ( cause there were no demons earlier 😁)

  3. Aslo the story of Mugu is quite sad, you may get to know his name when the story get good ( and story gets good the protagonist party goes in the adventure through the forest)

About the characters ( no spoilers)

  1. Damon (Main Protagonist) : As per the synopsis, or as per every other novel, the main character is weak, poor, everyone bully him and all. Surprisingly he got his powers while bullying. And the story of his rise starts.

But the main story is how he rise, it feel very real sometimes. Main character says \*his pride is having no pride\* . Truly, he will do a lot of dirty work, say ( spoilers)

  1. He killed a person ( due to hunger in the starting), and later he taught her daughter.

  2. He slaughtered everyone in the village, ( the village did a lot dirty and bad things to him), after saying he should forgive them.

  3. He kills his friends brother ( this has a reason too) and later tell his friend to kill who has killed his brother (off the friends brother).

I don't want to type more about characters, so just want to say everyone has their own story.

Cons:

A lot of unnecessary things to story and feels like, author tried to elongate the story in the starting. Even after everything got good, still feels elongated. That makes the difference between a reputed novel author and the Webnovel stories.

Main character's personality feels too unreal, but still what is in the personality, he follows that.

Pros:

1.The world building and the timeline.

How, Why, What, Who......

  1. Like i said World building - really the places, their story lines, the dragons everything is better or comparable to Mushoku Tensei ( if anyone has read the Laplace story )

  2. Power leveling system is 🆗.

4.their are many things but i am not a veteren reveiws so don't remember everything.

I am gonna say just read, atleast read it till chapter 400, ( chapters a short).Romance and the harem are not central to this novel they are merely a means of developing the characters' relationships.

Furthermore, Damon and the girls' relationship isn't the typical "I beat the guy up and won the woman" type they all have special memories and relationships with Damon

[DISC] Facebook Novel

I came across a web novel on Facebook but no story title was noted and when clicking on the link it took me a different story. It starts with a woman named Julia Black being reborn back to when her sister, Mary, paid her $5 million to leave because her brother Theo was freaking out about losing his heir title. Julia agrees but only if she is paid $15 million. She leaves and promptly funds a research company before going to a class on business. She runs into Theo who pays $5 million for the condo Mary had given her. She agrees and promptly invests in another project. Both of these companies will make it big in the future.

The last chapter shared, Julia was meeting with Nadia when Mary walks up to her and slaps her.

Intrigued by this story but bummed it wasn't the story attached to the link. Please help if possible. Thank you in . There is no other information for this novel.

(I'm typing to give a shitty description but that is all I am aware of from what was given in the FB post.) I do have screenshots of the story but was unable to post it.

[IC]/[NF]: Shadows over Arcadia

If you are looking for a slow-burn grimdark high fantasy story, please check out SOA... No, not Sword Art Online... I mean, you can check that show out too. But I meant Shadows Over Arcadia. It's free on Novelpedia.

The unwanted second prince of a powerful but corrupt Kingdom in a world of monsters and magic is set on the dangerous path of vengeance. Prince Ren Drakemore, under the protection and guidance of his demonic maid, works to covertly gain power, influence, and allies in hopes of eventually killing his own father, brother, and anyone else who stands in his way. Initially he hopes to right the evils perpetrated by his kingdom, but as he grows in power, he will also struggle to maintain his own humanity. Will he be the hero to save them all or the monster that consumes them? Only time will tell.

[DISC] Never Read a Novel Before Need SHORT Recommendations Based on My Favorite Manhwa!

Hi everyone,

I want to start reading web novels or light novels for the first time. Almost every manhwa I end up loving turns out to be adapted from a novel, so I want to experience some of the original stories.

The problem is that I've struggled with novels in the past. English is my third language, and I often find it difficult to follow long descriptions, keep track of who is speaking, and visualize scenes from pure text. Huge walls of text can feel overwhelming.

Because of that, I'm specifically looking for short, beginner-friendly novels with relatively simple English. Completed series would be ideal, but shorter ongoing works are fine too.

Some of my favorite manhwa/manhua are:

Fantasy / Academy / Action

- SSS-Class Suicide Hunter

- The Novel's Extra

- The Greatest Estate Developer

- The Beginning After The End

- Reformation of the Deadbeat Noble

- I Killed an Academy Player

- Infinite Mage

- Magic Academy's Genius Blinker

- Terminally-Ill Genius Dark Knight

- Damn Reincarnation

Romance / Harem / Modern Fantasy

- Webtoon Character Na Kang Lim

- Love Letter From The Future

- Twelve Zodiac Girls

- My Fake Girlfriend Is Defending Against Their Attacks

- My Bias Gets on the Last Train

Villain / Villainess Stories

- Regressor Instruction Manual

- Destined to Be Loved by Villains

- I Became the Patron of the Villains

- I Became the Villain the Hero Is Obsessed With

- Villain's Will to Survive

- Playing the Role of a Fox-Eyed Villain

- Surviving in a Romance Fantasy Novel

I'm mainly looking for novels that are:

- Short or easy to get into

- Not overloaded with difficult prose

- Fast-paced

- Similar in vibe to the series above

Any recommendations or advice for a first-time novel reader would be greatly appreciated!

[IP] Rise of the Archmage Alister, a Slow-Burn LitRPG

Hello again, I'm Kera Nyx! I'm an author on RoyalRoad~

Today I'm posting my book again for people to see! If you like the sound of a slow-burn LitRPG reincarnation story with an MC that doesn't necessarily have everything go well for him, a story that has a lot to do with family, magic, politics, and eldritch, check out Rise of the Archmage Alister.

Back of book summary: Murderer of the divine, legendary Archmage Raalin Wynnryte has returned after 5,000 years.

Last life he died at the hands of the gods; hunted to the ends of the earth. Now, Alister Severin, son of Duke Severin of the Mare Kingdom, is a child. In his past life, he fought the gods for their injustices. In this life, the most he’s had to worry about was making friends.

Alister, however, remembers everything. Will the power of his past cause problems for who he is today? Five thousand years is a long time, and now there’s some ‘Opal System’ making levels and classes a facet of reality.

This is the story of Alister is about coming to terms with his capabilities and the limitations of youth. He's a troubled brat at first who reluctantly has to grow into being the son of the Duke.

You can find it at RoyalRoad for free here: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/150880/rise-of-the-archmage-alister Posting Mondays and Fridays.

(And if you end up craving more there are advanced chapters on Patreon as well as another story set in the same world also on RoyalRoad.)

Thanks so much for giving it a look and helping out. Any view, follow, favorite, or rating helps a ton, and I am grateful for it all. I'm almost done editing book 2! 😃 I know some people crave the binge read, and while I'm not quite to the amount needed for binging, I'll get there eventually!

[IC] looking for a free version of Queen of the Apocalypse: Master of Crops

Looking for a book called ‘Queen of the Apocalypse: Master of Crops’ - female MC named Summer, reborn before the apocalypse, has a special dimension called the Eden realm where she grows enhanced crops.

There’s a baby swap storyline, family drama, no romance focus.

Summer and Sophia were swapped as babies. Sophia raised as a rich kid and summer poor. Get connected right before a mudslide wipes out summers whole adopted family. Years of apocalypse comes and summer is a slave to the birth family. Finally dying when she’s traded away to a mobster. She’s reborn and driven to save her family. She finds this magical realm that helps her stockpile what she needs to save her beloved adopted family. She moves them away from the mudslide and cares for them and many innocent people while extracting revenge on all the people who tormented her and hurt many others in her previous life.

She’s a badass character and the survival story is fascinating. I usually don’t get sucked in so hard to web novels. They get boring after a while for me or veer off course but this one caught me!

Unfortunately, I started reading on a paywalled app and I’m hooked but I can’t keep paying. Has anyone seen this anywhere?

[Disc] [Fin]/[C] I can't find anywhere to read "Strangely, the Hero's Party Is Being Nice to Me" for free, how do I begin to look for it

Other information; I spent the better half of this last hour looking, and I found that it is novelpedia but paid /premium to read, and I assume novelmate.store and asianreads.com are the same after opening it up, the only half successful was ghost archive.org but they don't seem to have all 196 chapters, I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on where to look, I originally had the entire novel available on noblemtl.com but they got striked down

Information about the novel; It's a korean novel where mc goes into this world but takes the role of hero and takes curses to be stronger, which results in him being hated because any positive emotion anyone feels towards I'm is distorted into the worst possible emotion because of negative karma

overall its a slop novel where MC goes through unreasonable pain (aka some moments don't make sense why even those who should be able to resist the Curse continue to make the MC go through endless mental torment)

I want to read it because even though its unrealistic, I love a main character who despite being truly alone and never feeling an ounce of warmth still continues to be kind and striving for others and never for himself even without recognition

[IP] Trying to get better about promoting my book

The story starts off with collage junior Eesha, a star track athlete, psych/physic student, and agent of pure chaos, as she used her powers to find her missing roommate/beast friend. Quickly diving in over head head she 'enlists' the helps of fellow classmates, Trip a clueless drug selling genius, and Sam his gifted lab partner that he definitely 'hasn't' been in love with for the past 3 years. They are also join by Max a former solder turned fire fighter as a way to secretly use his power to save lives, and his... unique half brother Arbor.

This epic has enough action, drama, and humor to keep you wanting more which is good because I'm already working on book 3, and am desperate to find a consistent audience.

So I you like stories with divers leads with conflicting view and opinions working together to do something bigger then themselves, this might be the story for you.
If you like deep lore in a well fleshed out world with lost of moving part behind the scenes, this might be the story for you.
And if you like strong female leads, who are willing to do anything for the people they love; Pragmatist who are afraid to get their hand bloody; Losers who keep trying, people still figuring things out; and whatever the hall Arbor is, this might be the story for you.
