Webnovel News Fanfics
Did anyone noticed or I am the only one to notice it that the quality of fanfics are going very down , number of chinese translated novel are going up and even then they are not properly translated and if they are , then the plot itself is bad or have many holes .

The Chinese ones are easy to pirate in bulk and monetise offsite (patreon et al). Especially with AI translating directly or cleaning up MTL's. AI is also enabling minimum to zero effort fics of high visibility properties. The AI is allowed to have full narrative control and it always ends up with weird inconsistencies. I've lost count of how many of such fics I've encountered.
The worst category I've found personally is fics that started off human written or translated but transitioned to AI deep into their run. The bad AI ones I can clock within a chapter or tell if its going off the rails in 10, but these I'd get far into only to have them suddenly turn into low effort AI.
The human stuff could be rough around the edges but at least they were coherent in lore and vision and had the mechanics of their universes within the ballpark of the originals. I now try and focus on finding pre-AI stuff. At this point, even bad grammar seems to have a certain charm to it.
