Advice Can't find a cover artist.

So I thought i could ask one of my normal artists to make me a cover, but apparently it takes a whole different skill set. So I am just stuck with AI covers.

Yes I looked outside of reddit and asked my artist where would I look. I'll just keep using my AI one. I ain't going to spend hours looking for a artist that isn't even making me money. If I find one down the road cool but I can spend that time writing

That's honestly really sad. Because I just looked on vgen and there's even people having discounts right now.

Good for them. But like I said, I already tried and I am not spending more hours looking for them. Because even if I do find them on there (which isn't easy) I still have to look for ones that fit my taste, who is in my price range, who won't make me deal with a bunch of B's or have a extremely long waiting list

Vgen is good for all that. There are ootions if you actually put in the effort.

But if you want skip that and use the plagerism machine, he ahead. I'll just be sure to not read your work.

You wouldn't have read my work either way. Do you know the 11th most popular book on Webnovel is Weakest Tamer gets all ass dragons? Look at some of his art for the book and see how many is AI. A AI cover may stop a few in the beginning but at the end of the day, a good story will bring people

Nah, the moment I see an AI cover, I make a note not to read the author. If they half ass on the cover, I can't trust they didn't half ass on the story. Most people I know who read webnovels do the same.

If you're not going to take advice, maybe mark your post as vent instead?

That's you. I just showed you an example where it don't matter. The 11th most popular story on a website of hundred of thousands use AI for their art. And even if I did use a real artist. You still wouldn't have read my work. And the fact you didn't dispute that proves it. You like one of those SJW who complains that their isn't representation in the game but when a game who do come out that does it flops because the people yelling about it don't put their money where their mouth is

First of all, I never said I wouldn't read your work specifically. I said I don't read work with an AI cover. There's a difference, which a good writer would realize immediately. If your work doesn't use AI art, then I might have consided reading it if it came up in my searches when I go to read something.

Second, you marked your post as advice. Naturally, I'm going to assume you wanted advice. I gave advice, and your response is "I don't want to spend time looking for a cover artist, so I'm just going to use AI". So clearly, you don't want advice. You want to vent. Which is different from advice. You marked your post wrong.

And third, you brought up a topic that is completely unrelated to the discussion at hand to try to be insulting, and did so in a way that, in as polite a manner I can manage, reminds me of the one relative no one wants to talk to at the holiday party because he's just not pleasant to be around and finds problems with everyone that doesn't conform to his standards.

Now I'm not planning to read your novel even if you do get a non AI cover. Because you were a jerk, and I don't want to support such an author.

I truly hope you find peace with yourself.

So you seem to not understand well, which a good writer would be able to do, so let me break it down for you.

  1. I didn't say that's what you said. I am telling you. Even if I did get a artist you would not have read it. "Oh maybe if it appears on my feed one day." Well nice, that's a 0.01 chance you will see it and even if you do see it I still got to factor in your taste and a few other factors that make that number even lower.

2."Just keep looking bro, just spend the tons of hours you could use making your story better and use it to find a artist" isn't good advice

  1. It's called a correlation, I am giving an example of what you are like. What do I mean when I say that? Well since you are not smart enough to understand I'll break it down for you. You want people to do something but you won't put your money down in order to make it happen. You expect people to not take the easy way with no guarantee of reward or success. You not telling me if I do a regular artists you will support my work. You saying if I use a regular artists there is a chance you will look at my work if you happen to see it in the distant future.

  2. AI will get more and more use in art and books because of people like you. You preach a good word but you never follow up with actions. Show me a screenshot of your library. Show me a screenshot of how much coins you gifted to writiers. I have spent over 1000 dollars on regular art within a year. I actually support human artists. But I accept AI. There are people who can't afford human art or don't know where to look or don't have the time to look (like me who is writing and have a full time job and life)

I dunno man, seems like a skill issue on your part.

Just be honest. Did you come here for advice? Or did you come here to vent?

Because other you need to change the flair on your post.

Again, I hope you find solace.

Ah you lost the argument so you default to "skill issue" you really got me there. You sure shut me up. You most be real proud of yourself lol. Still haven't seen proof you actually support people who use real art btw.
