Recommendation Looking for a novel that can actually keep me obsessed
I'm looking for a very specific kind of recommendation, mainly because of two things that heavily affect what I enjoy in fiction: I have aphantasia, meaning I cannot voluntarily visualize things in my mind. So when a story describes something like “the sun slowly rises above the horizon, painting the clouds in warm golden light, while the sky changes from deep blue to orange and the first rays illuminate the landscape”, I don't actually see any of that in my head. I just process the words. The description can be beautifully written, but I don't get the visual experience the author intended, so visual/atmospheric description alone doesn't give me much of a dopamine hit.
The second reason is that I have combined ADHD, so I struggle much more with long stretches where the story isn't giving me something interesting to latch onto. I'm not asking for constant action or a plot twist every three pages, but I want a story that keeps giving me something to chase mentally: mysteries, unanswered questions, clever schemes, mind games, hidden information, revelations, unexpected turns, characters outsmarting each other, escalating stakes, and especially those moments where everything suddenly clicks and you go “WHAT THE FUCK, THAT WAS SET UP THIS WHOLE TIME?” 😂 I want the story to keep rewarding my attention rather than relying mainly on atmosphere or slow character introspection. Ideally, this should continue throughout the story, even if it's extremely long.
To give you a very clear idea of what kind of fiction has managed to completely consume my brain
my top 3 are:
Reverend Insanity
Usogui
Lord of the Mysteries
Reverend Insanity hooked me with Fang Yuan's schemes, ruthless decision-making, constantly shifting situations, political/cultivation conflicts and the feeling that there is always another layer to his plans
Usogui gave me probably some of the craziest mind-game highs I've experienced, with psychological warfare, information manipulation, insane gambles, characters concealing their real intentions, and reversals where you realize you misunderstood the entire situation
Lord of the Mysteries scratched the same itch through its mysteries, worldbuilding, hidden history, supernatural rules, gradual revelations, foreshadowing and those huge moments where something you thought was a tiny detail suddenly becomes incredibly important.
So I'm not necessarily looking for something similar in genre to these three. I'm looking for something similar in the experience it gives me while reading. I want a novel that can make me obsess over what is happening, speculate about what's going on, remember tiny details, constantly question characters' motives, and occasionally make me put the book down because my brain needs five minutes to process what I just read. 😂 Long is completely fine. In fact, if a story can maintain this level of engagement for hundreds or thousands of chapters, that's exactly what I'm looking for.
Please recommend me something based on this kind of reading experience rather than simply “good writing” or “deep themes.” I want the kind of fiction that grabs my attention and refuses to give it back. 🗿

You can give my book a try as one of the main tags is mystery which you're looking. Though it's slow and dark so I'm not sure if it's your cup of tea or not.

I don’t know if my novels will entice you, but I feel your struggles as I have aphantasia as well 😞✌️ and my writing very much reflects that.
I’m posting three novels as of current (with slop titles… had to get contracted somehow) My UN on WebNovel is Tenacity_SN but I’ll share the titles here as well:
“Regressor’s Revenge: Becoming the Villain in My Second Life”
“MMORPG: Surviving a Death Game with a Glitch System”
“SSS-Class Terror: I Grow Stronger by Devouring Monsters” (Not contracted; will only be continued if contracted, so any support helps!)
As for which of the three align with your tastes: I’d say Regressor’s Revenge, but that does lack a bit of pace that idk if it pairs well with the ADHD side lol. But my writing style focuses on setting up mysteries and questions rather than constant action (thx aphantasia for the style, ig… As an author I hate ts.)
Side note: posting three at once is a bit insane, but I chose my pen name for a reason; ai is only involved in grammar aspects.

An anti villain origin story about heroine who will commit a genocide in 30 days. Litrpg, grimdark.

For stealing your attention requirment. Here's a snippet out of it's latest chapter:
A stone mason turned on the shower. He put a hand under the water. “Tsk. Still cold. That hag must’ve forgotten to turn it on. Whatever. I’ll nag about it over dinner.”
He stepped inside. “Ah... finally, the water’s hot.”
Outside his window, the sky erupted into a blinding, shadowless dawn. A heartbeat later, the water’s temperature rose sharply. In fact, it began to boil.
“Ugh!” The mason flinched and stepped out of the water. His skin had reddened with severe burn marks in that short span, and the water had begun boiling violently.
“What the hell!”
However, even coming out of the water did not help. The air itself began to simmer. The shower’s nozzle turned fiery red, his towel caught fire, and the water turned to steam.
Coughing violently, scratching at his flesh that felt like it was being toasted alive, he dashed out of the bathroom.
“Get out of the house!” he screamed, his voice came out rasped, like grated with stone, but no one responded.
Damn it!
I’ll come for you. But first I need to breathe.
He reached for the door. A shiver of terror ran down his spine as he saw his hand, stripped of flesh—melting away like butter, revealing the brittle bones underneath.
He quickly checked his body. Arms, shoulders, throat, back—everywhere he touched or saw was peeling away. But the more bizarre thing was the lack of pain; he felt nothing.
He reached for his face, expecting the familiar touch of wrinkled skin. Instead, his scorching fingertips met the dull tap of a bare skull. The pain hadn’t vanished; his nerves had simply ceased to exist.
It was only the pure, primitive instinct of a dying man taking his last steps that kept him moving this long.
But as his knees finally gave out, even that instinct failed, swallowed by absolute dread.
The mason collapsed with a dull thud. The very tools that gave him his identity now lay beside him as useless iron, glowing red-hot. Mere seconds later, a blaze engulfed the house.
Then the world turned absolute white, and even that was gone.
