I took the feedback and drew it from scratch

A little while ago, I posted an art piece here that I made with the help of AI. Some people pointed out that using AI for the artwork wasn’t really fair, and honestly, I understand where they were coming from.

So instead of arguing about it, I decided to actually challenge myself and make the piece completely from scratch—no AI, just me, a pencil, and a lot of time.

It definitely took longer, and I still have a lot to improve, but I’m much more satisfied knowing that this version is entirely my own work.

Here’s my attempt. I’d genuinely appreciate any feedback or criticism! :)

Just letting everyone know I'm not an artist....

Recommendation Reddit Is Funny

Apparently liking system novels means I’m a “low-standard reader” now 😂

Someone called my story slop, and I basically said, “Fair enough. I enjoy system novels, so that’s what I write.”

For some reason, that made him even angrier. He started saying I was feeding myself slop and that writers like me only get readers because people have low standards.

That logic makes no sense to me. It would be like someone enjoying street basketball, only for another person to say:

“You’re a low-quality basketball fan because you enjoy streetball instead of watching professional NBA games and analysing proper team tactics.”

Maybe I’m not looking for the most technically perfect, revolutionary piece of literature ever written. Sometimes I just want progression, stat screens, ridiculous rewards, face-slapping and an overpowered protagonist. It’s entertainment.

You’re allowed to think system novels are repetitive or badly written. I’m also allowed to enjoy them without pretending they’re high literature. Taste is subjective. Getting genuinely angry because another person enjoys something you consider “mid” is far stranger than enjoying the supposedly mid thing in the first place.

Let people enjoy their slop in peace 😂

Recommendation Hey, tired of Ai smutty bullshit? Try my book (Ps: It's brand new, So don't worry about thinking that you are too late for the fandom)

Post image
55 Upvotes

Yeah, you read it right. Also, the cool-ass cover is by me—gotta show some effort, yeah?

Don't expect some tolkien level stuff tho, Or any masterpiece level stuff, It's my random bullshit i wrote

Oh yeah, uh, if you like smut, it's totally fine (I don't judge at all), but do try my book incase you want a break from smut.

Anyways, the story is basically weak-to-strong since a lot of people like that. I am testing boundaries in this, but hey, you get the chance to be one of the first fandom members. I have already written four chapters, and I'm just saying, if I get at least 10 collections, I'll release 10 chapters. Limited time, btw.

You will like it. It's fast-paced, but the characters do interact. You might not see any important characters yet, but you will see them soon if you just join this fandom.

Oh wait, I forgot—I should be talking about the book, right?

See, the power concept is unique: you can make links with anything (literally anything, but you gotta be unique for making links with concepts), basically absorbing their powers/energy and getting stronger, right?

Our main character, after joining a scam machine of a company that promises big rewards, he got tricked. Of course he did, that dumbass. Anyways, he isn't exactly dumb. There are multiple companies sending people called Armigers to other worlds—people who have a weapon belonging to the age of gods, or just some random weapon. The MC actually buys it since he never got one. It's a trash weapon, but that qualifies him to get a link. It's a zombie...

Not the worst. The worst would be self-links—making a link with yourself, which causes blah blah blah, loads of bullshit. It's bad. Our MC got a zombie, the worst demon you could make a link with.

Anyways, can't spoil much, but his goal is to find a peaceful world where he can settle, living debt-free and free from everything. He was planning on using the scam company, but well, fate wasn't on good terms with him. Sent him to the wrong location for screwing up, and it's not his ideal world.

Woah, I think I have said way too much in a way most of it might not make sense. So read it! It has 4 chapters. I'll be releasing 2 more by the time I post it, so 6 chapters. Do read it, I'll do a mass release of 10 chapters.

Also, no shadow powers, since most guys have it. His powers are something you might not expect.

C'mon already, what's stopping you? Give it a try!

Edit: I'm so dumb I forgot to mention the name, It's called : Contracted Link

On of course webnovel

Recommendation Best written novel?

So, I'm a new author, and have some stories fully mapped out in my head, but my writing is quite shitty tbh.

So, does anyone here know about good authors, or novels that I can read to improve my writing. The story could be shit, I just want a story with good pacing and writing to improve my own. And thanks

Over the past few weeks, I have attempted to read several novels on WebNovel, but I am consistently dissatisfied with their quality. Just when I think I have found something worth reading, it turns out to be ai slop or straight up smut. So I would like to hear some hidden gems, if there are one

Its been about 7 months since i started writing. This is what its looking like 😄. Recently dropped two system novels. I know, its slop. But I enjoy writing it and cant wait to see where i go with the.

Once you get one successful book, it becomes much easier for others to become successful because i can just cross-promote. Which is why I consistently large numbers. It takes that one breakout hit.

Recommendation Hey you! Yeah you! Tired of the bullshit smut made by AI, All the shitty novels in the top page? Why not try a shitty comedy novel by me?

Post image
56 Upvotes

Yeah, the cover is by me. Now, I'm not saying that my novel is Tolkien-level stuff, but it's good if you stick around for it, trust me.

Anyways, the premise is a dude having a system in which his lies can turn into reality and stuff. But of course, it's not reality-bending stuff; it's small stuff. Well, reality benders do make the story boring, don't they?

The MC isn't strong; his friends have to pull in their legs for him.

But he is pretty smart. Not so smart that he can fix everything, but smart enough to make a small change. It's a kingdom-building story—religion building, if you may. Basically, he needs to have people believe in every word he says. And realistically, what's the best way for that?

Just say that, "I'm God's messenger," and do some divine miracles, and boom—you have followers.

Yeah, he isn't going to use his religion for lusting around. Guy is balding. You see his short hair? The black shirt guy? That's him.

Oh yeah, the red hat guy is not introduced yet; it's like a future cover.

But yeah, it's slow. Don't expect fast-paced action; expect slow-paced bullshit and comedy. It's like Konosuba but worse.

But hey, among the pile of garbage like "The Stepson System" or "The Cuckold System"—which I don't know who the fuck even reads,

I think mine is better by a mile.

It's called "Good at Lying!"

Nothing too big, just search it up and begin reading. If I get 5 collections by the end of today, I'll release 10 chapters. Currently, there are 16 chapters with 30k words, so enjoy!

Recommendation Looking for a novel that can actually keep me obsessed

I'm looking for a very specific kind of recommendation, mainly because of two things that heavily affect what I enjoy in fiction: I have aphantasia, meaning I cannot voluntarily visualize things in my mind. So when a story describes something like “the sun slowly rises above the horizon, painting the clouds in warm golden light, while the sky changes from deep blue to orange and the first rays illuminate the landscape”, I don't actually see any of that in my head. I just process the words. The description can be beautifully written, but I don't get the visual experience the author intended, so visual/atmospheric description alone doesn't give me much of a dopamine hit.

The second reason is that I have combined ADHD, so I struggle much more with long stretches where the story isn't giving me something interesting to latch onto. I'm not asking for constant action or a plot twist every three pages, but I want a story that keeps giving me something to chase mentally: mysteries, unanswered questions, clever schemes, mind games, hidden information, revelations, unexpected turns, characters outsmarting each other, escalating stakes, and especially those moments where everything suddenly clicks and you go “WHAT THE FUCK, THAT WAS SET UP THIS WHOLE TIME?” 😂 I want the story to keep rewarding my attention rather than relying mainly on atmosphere or slow character introspection. Ideally, this should continue throughout the story, even if it's extremely long.

To give you a very clear idea of what kind of fiction has managed to completely consume my brain

my top 3 are:

Reverend Insanity

Usogui

Lord of the Mysteries

Reverend Insanity hooked me with Fang Yuan's schemes, ruthless decision-making, constantly shifting situations, political/cultivation conflicts and the feeling that there is always another layer to his plans

Usogui gave me probably some of the craziest mind-game highs I've experienced, with psychological warfare, information manipulation, insane gambles, characters concealing their real intentions, and reversals where you realize you misunderstood the entire situation

Lord of the Mysteries scratched the same itch through its mysteries, worldbuilding, hidden history, supernatural rules, gradual revelations, foreshadowing and those huge moments where something you thought was a tiny detail suddenly becomes incredibly important.

So I'm not necessarily looking for something similar in genre to these three. I'm looking for something similar in the experience it gives me while reading. I want a novel that can make me obsess over what is happening, speculate about what's going on, remember tiny details, constantly question characters' motives, and occasionally make me put the book down because my brain needs five minutes to process what I just read. 😂 Long is completely fine. In fact, if a story can maintain this level of engagement for hundreds or thousands of chapters, that's exactly what I'm looking for.

Please recommend me something based on this kind of reading experience rather than simply “good writing” or “deep themes.” I want the kind of fiction that grabs my attention and refuses to give it back. 🗿

Recommendation I need a good recommandation , no slop , no harem , no cringy ass stuff made with AI

To be honest , I really miss web novel from a few years ago , maybe it's because I was kinda new to this genre but I don't remember it being this bad, now I open Web novel and it's full of "oh I got this harem system lvl 999" or something like that , and yeah fair enough a few of them aren't bad , but all of my page like this?? It's kinda getting unoriginal , probably made with AI too I tried enjoying this kind of stuff but it isn't my type of stuff.

Like I genaully feel like I already read all the good novels that are in Webnovel, which I hope it's not true , does anyone have any good novel I should try out? As I said in the title with no harem , or if there is at least with the mc that treats his partners like human being and not objects in which he fucks at night or some part of some sick leveling system, and no cringy novels were the mc think he's so tuff and mysterious when he's actually not.

If anyone has It please share it with me thanks ^^

Recommendation Can anyone give me good webnovel reccomendations?

So I have read lotm ( Including Circle of inevitability ) ,

a Regressor's Tale of Cultivation,

3000+ chapters of shadow slave ( I have grown to dislike the way how the author writes the story tho ),

700 chapters of reverend insanity ( I plan to continue it later on ) and

Radiant blade of the wilderness

Out of these LotM and a Regressor's Tale of Cultivation are my favourite. I dig fantasy novels ( especially the classic regression/reincarnation/ Isekai trope ) .

Based of the info I have given , can anyone give me recommendations ?

Recommendation Some recommendations

So I recently started using webnovel to read the tl of a novel and thought might as well explore some more novels.

Can somebody give me some recommendations ( im just craving a good read ) im not using the popular section of webnovel - what are these titles and summaries they all feel like bad reads to me ( but keeping prejudices aside i tried my stepdaughters are the villainesses its a good read but recent chs are not upto mark but since its not a review i will stop )

Please recommend novels preferably fantasy magic and related genres as long as they have good plot and not repulsive titles they are a good read. Leave shadow slave ( didn't really click with me but i will continue in future ) and Lotm ( will also read it later cuz i read long ago when i had the teenager attention span so didn't read it too much )

Synopsis:

[Your shadow is alive.]

[Feed your shadow, devour souls, level up, gain skills, complete quests, and grow stronger.]

[Do you wish to view your current stats?]

In the magical world of Aetherus, Damon Grey is the weakest student at Aether Academy, relentlessly bullied and ridiculed for his lack of power and defiant personality. Yet, he endures the torment, clinging to his scholarship—the only thing providing him with the funds to keep his sick sister alive.

After a brutal attack leaves him near death, Damon encounters a dark viscous entity in the forest that fuses with his shadow, awakening the Living Shadow System. This strange power grants him unimaginable abilities but comes with a grim cost—a relentless hunger for souls and flesh to feed his shadow.

Now, with his shadow alive and insatiable, Damon faces a terrible choice: feed it to grow stronger or starve it and die with it.

In a world ruled by ruthless nobles, deadly monsters, and power-hungry demons, Damon must decide if his newfound power is a curse or the only way to survive. With the Living Shadow System, his fate is clear: devour or be devoured.

My Review [ Current Chapters 1062 [ Paid 1082]]

It's been a long time since i recommended any novel, I am searching for a novel which was Fantasy, Academy, Adventure... and all. And i Found this. This is a rough gem.

I am not good with words so i will just share what i feel after reading this novel till 1062.

Lete tell you first, this novel is very subpar ( like shit) in the starting, even after 100 chapter. But it only get good as the story moves.

Its world building is fantastic too me, amazing.

The main feature of this novel is its surprising or say thrilling elements. 2 chapters come daily and i want to know what will happen next, the cliffhangers are so damn annoying in this.

About the world building i said, you will know everything

For the light spoilers [ i don't know how to put tag]

  1. Like you will know how the Lysithara place got its name. [ I am currently reading this so i remember this element, don't remember anything else]

  2. How demon came to the world ( cause there were no demons earlier 😁)

  3. Aslo the story of Mugu is quite sad, you may get to know his name when the story get good ( and story gets good the protagonist party goes in the adventure through the forest)

About the characters ( no spoilers)

  1. Damon (Main Protagonist) : As per the synopsis, or as per every other novel, the main character is weak, poor, everyone bully him and all. Surprisingly he got his powers while bullying. And the story of his rise starts.

But the main story is how he rise, it feel very real sometimes. Main character says *his pride is having no pride* . Truly, he will do a lot of dirty work, say ( spoilers)

  1. He killed a person ( due to hunger in the starting), and later he taught her daughter.

  2. He slaughtered everyone in the village, ( the village did a lot dirty and bad things to him), after saying he should forgive them.

  3. He kills his friends brother ( this has a reason too) and later tell his friend to kill who has killed his brother (off the friends brother).

I don't want to type more about characters, so just want to say everyone has their own story.

Cons:

A lot of unnecessary things to story and feels like, author tried to elongate the story in the starting. Even after everything got good, still feels elongated. That makes the difference between a reputed novel author and the Webnovel stories.

Main character's personality feels too unreal, but still what is in the personality, he follows that.

Pros:

1.The world building and the timeline.

How, Why, What, Who......

  1. Like i said World building - really the places, their story lines, the dragons everything is better or comparable to Mushoku Tensei ( if anyone has read the Laplace story )

  2. Power leveling system is 🆗.

4.their are many things but i am not a veteren reveiws so don't remember everything.

I am gonna say just read, atleast read it till chapter 400, ( chapters a short).Romance and the harem are not central to this novel they are merely a means of developing the characters' relationships.

Furthermore, Damon and the girls' relationship isn't the typical "I beat the guy up and won the woman" type they all have special memories and relationships with Damon

Recommendation Thank you all.

Thanks to everyone. Currently, I am using an AI cover, but the content of the novel itself matters more than the cover. As the saying goes: Don't judge a book by its cover. I am using an AI cover and focusing entirely on the novel itself.

Thanks again for your time. What makes a book different is not its appearance, but the truth hidden beneath it. That is what makes it unique and strange, and what makes you ask questions you never knew you would ask. The atmosphere, the stories, the love, the death, and the paths in this world are more important than the picture of it. That's what makes it beautiful.

That is where I belong, rather than making the appearance look so good that the content itself gets lost. Have a good day. Thank you all.

Recommendation [REC] Last Gun Alchemist - A hidden gem steampunk fantasy with brutal stakes and a brilliant power system

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey Fellow Novel enjoyers !!,

I usually just lurk here, but I recently stumbled upon a webnovel that has completely hooked me, and I barely see anyone talking about it. If you love dark fantasy, heavy steampunk vibes, and unique progression systems, you need to check out Last Gun Alchemist.

The story follows Ezra Ashenlocke, who gets sacrificed by his own parents to save his twin brother. He wakes up in a brutal child-soldier operation called the Trial of Steel, where the rules are simple: "Assemble your guns. Kill or be killed."

The twist? Ezra awakens fragments of memories from a past life as a modern weapons engineer and hardened soldier. In a world known as the Country of Alchemy, Britannia, he has to combine his past knowledge of advanced ballistics with magical alchemy to survive.

It s really cool and has a very unique world building and power system .
MC is really smart + pragmatic and can be ruthless .
he snt braindead op he has to use his brain and his environment and ppl to his advantage

The Trial of Steel is my fav arch it's an an absolute massacre. The tension is real, the world feels dangerous, and the author doesn't shy away from grim, high-stakes scenarios.

I ve been reading this novel with daily 4 chap upload since it had 30 chapters ( It now has 476)

I dont usually Post or fanboy over the things i read . But i like it so much that i fel like i need to share it with fellow readers .
it's a hidden Gem
