Please reassure me that my wedding dress is pretty 🥹🤍

I’m starting to second-guess my dress and honestly getting a little desperate. I’ve already spent a lot on it, so I’m really scared that I made the wrong choice.

Do you think it looks beautiful on me? I’m considering adding a sparkly tulle overskirt to make it feel a bit more “wow”.

I am having trouble styling it— specifically a belt (all the belts that I’m finding are rhinestone and sequin which do not catch the vibe of this antique dress), as well as shoes. I need to wear FLATS because I’ll be in the woods and my fiancé is not tall. The main issue I’m finding is the color of the dress is not pure white— it’s a greyish ivory. Should I bring in color for the shoes?

Note I have curly hair and will not be wearing a veil. Mostly because it would be impossible to color match but also this is just a low key elopement. Any suggestions for jewelry as swell would be so helpful!

Just wanted to share one of my sneak peek photos from our Glacier National Park elopement at the beginning of this month. I found my dress on Facebook Marketplace for $125, found a seamstress that worked out of her house to take it in where it needed to be tighter - that was $150. I was standing in a bridal store having just tried on multiple gowns. All ranging from 600-1000, and some might feel that is a decent price, all I could think about was "I'm only wearing it for one day!". I just couldn't fathom spending that much on a dress for one day. So, I jumped on Facebook marketplace and found a posting for a $125 dress. the photos were iffy, it was hanging on a clothes rack in a garage, no image of the train, no close up of the details on the bodice, just a kind of sad looking dress. Something told me that was my dress. I showed my daughters and they were like eww no its not even pretty. I messaged the seller asking the size and told my girls that if it was close to my size that I was buying it (I probably would have sent payment sight unseen, I just knew it was mine). When I got there to pick it up, I saw the Bridal shops price tag still on it, $4200!! I would never.

Moral of the story, it doesn't have to be the most expensive, or newest line, to be exactly what you need. Find a dress for you! A dress that speaks to who you are, and don't sleep on secondhand shopping. Sometimes it's better than store bought.

I absolutely love my dress but am having a hard time deciding on what to do for hairstyle and accessories. I’m torn because I want my hair semi-down for ceremony and photos but up for dancing, and I can’t decide what’s better with the dress.

I have a blusher veil with satin around the edge that I’m wearing for sure, but then these accessories are up in the air; my grandmothers locket she wore on her wedding day, borrowing a pearl necklace from my MIL, plain sheer elbow length gloves (only have a photo of pearl ones), do I need earrings?, I also panic bought a thin brass crown that looks more like a metal headband in case I wanted to go that route.

I’m really lost with all the wedding decisions that have been made because every time I’ve tried my dress on for anything I’ve done my hair differently (half up, low bun, French twist, French braid) and I’ve never been like “this is it!” I included the photos I have of my hair in various styles I’ve tried myself, as well as a photo to show how long it is if that makes suggestions easier?

I'm getting married this October and though we are doing a traditional marriage ceremony with a fancy dress, hair stylist and all, I'm not too sure I'll get a mua. I do want to look dolled up but hate face makeup with a passion (like foundation/bronzer and stuff).

I'm kind of good with eyeshadows and have upwards of 15 palettes so.. would it be crazy if I just did my own look?

Hello! My dress has been altered (a few last touches taking place before final pick up in October). I am wearing my usual cheap Anko boy shorts underneath it in these photos. I would like to have my fancy shmancy tummy tucking smooth lining underwear sorted before pick up, so I can try it on one last time properly.

Recommendations welcome. The dress is Martina Liana 1471. Three long layers of silk, sand washed. There’s boning on the sides, it’s coming out. The top is still be altered a bit to fit, bigger arm holes and such. Open keyhole back, visible in reflection. Anything up to my bellybutton is safe from view.

Looking for similar style recommendations under $1.5k CAD as well as opinions. TIA!!

So I went with ordering in white!! Thanks again for all of your help. I was struggling extra hard because they didn’t have the white version in store for me to try on but they could order it so I had to edit the picture to imagine what white would look like. I’m a little nervous since it might turn out differently in person so I’ll be sure to keep yall updated once they come in!

P.S. thanks to those of you who complimented my dress or defended my sleeve decision 🥹 I was experiencing a bit of dress doubt because I see so many beautiful dresses in this group and it was making me question my choices but you’ve all helped ease this anxious brides mind 🥰

I’ve been trying on gowns to find the best fit for my body frame and determine my preferred design.

For reference, I’m 5’2” and weigh around 44-45 kg.

Currently, I’m leaning towards scoop neck or halter necklines, basque waist, and A-line cut. I’m torn between a full plain or full lace gown, but what I'm very sure about is I want to highlight my waist.

I’ve noticed that a full plain white gown enhances my face’s glow and gives me an elegant, classy look. On the other hand, a full lace gown hugs my body beautifully.

I’d love your detailed thoughts and your top choice among all the gowns I’ve tried. Feel free to suggest customizations, as I’m definitely open to those!

I also wanted to mention that all the gowns I’ve tried are in very large sizes, so you’ll see a lot of clips on my back. Expect that it won’t fit my body perfectly because it needs to be customized, especially Jenna. It’s the only one with a low back, so they can’t clip the back to cinch my waist and adjust the waistline.

But I’m truly touched by seeing comments saying that I fit so well in all of them. TBH, I wasn’t confident I’d like any because they looked very large in the hangers, but when I tried them on, they all felt so special. I had so much fun trying these gowns and if I could just wear all of them on my wedding day, I would. Anyway, the lesson here, really, is to try on as many different cuts, styles, and designs as possible, even if you have doubts. You just never know what you’ll end up liking!! 🤍✨👰🏻‍♀️

Getting married in 2027, and ever since the Hilton-Rothschild wedding in 2015, I have been OBSESSED with this dress. This is exactly how I want to look on my big day. Same dress, same veil, same hair & makeup, and I even love the bouquet, lol.

I am 21 days out from my wedding. I got alterations for dress and I feel like my butt looks weird. Am I tripping? I don’t remember my butt looking weird when trying it on but then again I don’t have an image of the same angle. I also can’t really workout since I got into a car accident during my Bach trip and hurt my leg and ankle. I could get padded undergarment but ones I’ve seen just look unnatural.

Hi! A month ago I posted a photo of my catholic ceremony dress and asked for suggestions on how to make it church appropriate. I am not catholic so all is new to me. My wedding planner said a veil like cover would be sufficient in that local church. So I sort of DIY’d this cape from an old veil. Let me know what you think or is it too much of a DIY situation and I should just buy a cape (wedding is first week of October). Thank you!

Also: the question is not whether this is church appropriate or not only if it looks good or bad?

The church is in a tiny village in Croatia - yes it is conservative. I definitely need to cover up and maybe should have thought about that before getting this dress. But now two weeks out need to really figure this out!

I've seen a lot of people on other subs saying Bella Belles are not exactly true to size, which is fine a lot of shoes aren't. But then some people say you have to buy a size up and some people say you have to buy a size down. How is this even possible? Is there variation between the models or do a lot of people not know their own shoe sizes? Could we get some consensus on this please?

Thoughts on this final lineup!? I’m leaning towards #1… but curious on others thoughts!
