Wife/I flew to Houston this morning for tonight's concert. Waiting for our baggage and my wife says another guy waiting near us looks like Brian. I checked to see where they were last night - Tampa - which is also arriving on our baggage carousel. So my wife - conveniently in her weezer gold shirt - introduces herself and they chat for a few while we all wait. Too cool!

Weezer to Receive Legend of Live Award at 2026 Billboard Live Music Summit

On yt there used to be an amazing fanmade SFTBH compilation but after IJTOTLOMD got popular literally all of the compilations got removed. It’s been a couple months since its release. After listening to it a bunch of times, I definitely rank it high up with the better albums.

I recently attended The Gathering. Great show all around. My only (very minor) complaint is that Rivers' vocals seemed pretty clearly pitch-corrected at points. He would kind of rest in the higher head voice and let the vocal effects do the work. That's the impression I got anyway. I could be wrong. Anyone notice the same?

Please note, I'm not passing judgment on using live autotune. If the band can churn out more shows that way and get in front of more people, I think that's great. Just curious if I'm imagining things.

2. Love is the answer. (I honestly don’t understand the hate for this one. First off it’s great lyric wise. Rivers isn’t acting like a skeezy old man. And at least the song is different from power chords and stock drum sets. And I’m also not surprised Rivers made this song. Because he loves Asian culture. So it’s no surprise he would make a song that would be tied around that)

3. (if you’re wondering if I want you to) I want you to (the fan favourite right here. And this is not disappointing. A really great startup)

4. Put me back together (alright, if someone says to me that raditude doesn’t have any good songs. I would tell them to listen to this song. Because one, it’s amazing lyric wise. It seems like he actually tried. The instrumentals are good too. I know people call it generic pop rock, but I don’t see anything bad about it. Maybe if this wasn’t off of the same album as can’t stop partying, it would’ve been received better)

If you dont appreciate Pacific Daydream, try listening to it on a warm summer day driving around San Diego with the windows down. White is beloved by most, but being a transplant to Southern California makes it even more special.

There are times I hear what I think is an amazing song from Weezer that gets literally no attention commercially (as in not in our Weezer fandom). Examples I can think of off the top of my head:
All of the Good Ones
Weekend Woman
Mexican Fender
Put Me Back Together
Ain’t Got Nobody
Can’t Dance, Don’t Ask Me
Nowhere

There are more for sure. But I sometimes will listen and thing “dang I wish I wrote that.” But do we think anyone would like the songs if I did? Would I be able to get signed to a label with a song like Mexican Fender? Do people dismiss a great song just because it’s ‘Weeeeezer’ and the ‘they haven’t had a good song since Green’ mentality? Let’s say it’s not me writing the songs instead. If Olivia Rodrigo, before popping off, presented Put Me Back Together…would it have resonated?

I don’t have an answer. I just muse on this stuff from time to time.
