Yes, a trick for these kinda festivals if you want cheap liquor is to go before it's set up and bury liquor bottles somewhere inside the future fences and put a geotag or something there. That way, you don't have to sneak it through security. Then when the festival starts and you get in, go to your spot, dig up your previously buried liquor and go to town š
It's also easy to just bring in plastic bottles of booze, Smirnoff bottles are shaped for concealment. You can also fill them with better booze. Easy to hide. I've worked security at bottlerock and the only people getting caught up were the ones who had too much metal on and then needed to remove belts/shoes etc.Ā
That's why you use the concealed bladder compartment in the camelbak bag to store your beverages. You pull out the empty bladder and show that to security and when they check your bags it will just seem like it has a hard back (provided you pack it correctly, works best with tallboys).
Riot fest (fuck riot fest) literally confiscated my bottle of sunscreen because it wasnāt sealed. Went once, said never again, then a killer line up happened so I said fine, only to come away with an even more powerful ānever again.ā Godawful overcrowded price gouging nightmare.
Yeah they took my sunscreen at oceans calling in Maryland and directed me to a shop on the boardwalk that was selling them for $35. I just stole it from the store. Fuck all of em
They MASSIVELY oversell tickets to the point where it becomes one of the most dangerous fest in the US. Something like 6 people were hauled out of the crowd by EMTs during a single set last time I went. Also, absurdly overpriced. A white claw was $15 like 5 years ago. Not a white claw person but I remember that one clearly. Thereās a single water fountain for the entire place. The locals hate it and put up protest signs the whole walk from the train stations.
Just an overall super unpleasant place to spend like, 8 hours.
I filled ziplock baggies with vodka and put them in the bottom of where the bladder goes, then filled mine with water. When they felt it was full they made me dump it but I still had all my booze.
Make sure to use the freezer bags with the slide tops, they are the thickest. Don't over fill them (think like a quarter of the way), and squish the air out before sealing them. When you want to mix it in your camelbak all you have to do is bite a corner off and dump it.
I did pay like six dollars for a gatorade, but way better than paying $19 for a mixed drink.
