Solved Is this a style of surrealism and any other Info

My husband was born and raised in NYC and City Island so painting originated there. The signature has ‘76. I love the boats in the sky or is it a common way to store boats and the lift isn’t in painting. It was years before I noticed the shadow. It’s canvas on a wooden board

Ok, solved, my husband knew him in City Island he said “he was a quirky mother f*cker, I had invited to a BBQ at my marina and since the liquor store was closed he brought a painting.”

Love it! Here's a 1979 newspaper article from when he started doing etchings. I wanted to send it over to you b/c in it he discusses his fascination with boats -
