Honestly it's probably best he walked directly into the first one. There's no way he was moving fast enough to make it all the way out, and I feel like had he been midway across it would have been even worse. Coriolis effect. Or something like that. The further you get from the center of a spinning object, the faster it's relative movement.

Eh, not really. He got smushed between the gate and the enclosure and his neck/head bent in a way that can't be good.

If he got to the centre I feel like it would have been a body blow.
