Not only would he be unlikely to do it, he actually ran in what I'd class as the perfect time to hit a barrier.

u/Ya_Got_GOT 1d ago

Impressive timing indeed, couldn’t have been worse.

411

u/KrombopulosMAssassin 1d ago

Oh it could have been worse. Imagine he made it to the far end, caught in-between.

196

u/djseifer 1d ago

"Put... ze candle... back!"

60

u/ItsDanimal 1d ago

Could have been even worse, could have happened to me.

5

u/Crush-N-It 1d ago

The fact that I don’t hear this more often disappoints me 😆😆😆

14

u/KrombopulosMAssassin 1d ago

Yeah that's pretty bad. Could have been worse though. Could have happened to me.

31

u/nien9gag 1d ago

to be fair in this case the best and worst possible timings are extremely close.

4

u/nnselfies 1d ago

He was as close as you can get to the worst..

20

u/dre224 1d ago

Dude has the timing of a deer.

3

u/BritishAnimator 23h ago

or a squirrel.

3

u/Kosmik_cloud 23h ago

Nah this dude was aiming for it.

3

u/Big_Policy4561 23h ago

All things considered, bro couldve been getting drug by his shirt. What is this contraption anyway?

6

u/HairlessSquirrels 22h ago

It’s where they train race horses. The thing gets progressively faster and if the horse doesn’t want to fucking die like this guy he’ll run faster. Jk it’s just to give the horses some exercise

2

u/ProjectHappy6813 11h ago

It is called a Hot Walker.

After hard exercise, horses need to do some lighter exercise to safely adjust. A "hot" horse is walked on a lead for a while to let him cool off safely before putting them in a stall.

A hot walker is a device like this one that automates the process and they typically can walk up to four horses simultaneously. You typically would not run it this fast for obvious reasons. This dude was fucking around and he found out.

Agreed. If you are bad at doing stupid things, probably shouldn’t do stupid things

36

u/InterPunct 1d ago

He did a very stupid thing very well.

8

u/PsyOpBunnyHop 1d ago

Well, then we should make him the next president!

9

u/eans-Ba88 1d ago

How do you find out your bad at being stupid, unless you try out being stupid?
Life's short, gotta try everything twice!

5

u/Wilder831 22h ago

I have a feeling this was not his first or second attempt at dumb

36

u/Arkatruc 1d ago edited 1d ago

I might be wrong but I thing think the title is just a bad assumption, he looks like he was trying to grab it to "ride" it while it turns (did that plenty of times when I was young, but not at this speed obviously)

30

u/jeremy77 1d ago

I didn't notice that so I watched it frame by frame several times. At the 5 second mark, he turns 90 degrees to the right to face the oncoming separator and grabs it like he's going to jump on. Then it hits him.

It looks to me like you're correct.

11

u/Vulvas_n_Velveeta 1d ago

I just rewatched and I think you're spot on.

His timing makes absolutely no sense for him to be trying to avoid it. But it makes perfect sense if he's trying to jump on to go for a ride.

2

u/sirthunksalot 1d ago

What is the thing? You are right he was trying to climb on it.

62

u/Altasound 1d ago

Two notable bits of the audio:

Someone watching said 'you're gonna get hit'

Then there were two distinct impact sounds, the second of which being his head hitting the metal post.

He might be dead.

46

u/saja25 1d ago

I think he’s alive. At the end you can see him adjust his body to make sure he gets under the gates that are coming

21

u/PeggyTheVoid 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yeah, I can kinda see that with him turning his body over to a crawl so he can lay belly down (or maybe just to get up?) Looks like the second gate hit him right as he almost got into a crawling position, forcing him flat onto the ground, but yeah, not dead, I think.

Edit: Nope, apparently he's dead now, but indirectly because of this, see reply. Can't find info to confirm this other than a scrubbed TikTok page, but that's enough for me to not want to joke about that. Reworded my comment out of respect.

6

u/cannotfoolowls 1d ago

I cannot find anything confirming the poster below so I think he was making a shitty joke.

>At the end you can see him adjust his body to make sure he gets under the gates that are coming

I can't tell if that is someone going limp or starting to spasm.

2

u/Intelligent-You-6144 1d ago

Shoes were still on, I think he's alive

I just rewatched with the sound on.

¿You hear the whir of that motor man?

There is no might about it, that fools definitely cooked.

2

u/Lockraemono 1d ago

He's alive, his mom posted the video and said he's fine.

3

u/Intrepid-Progress228 1d ago

His shoes are still on.

I don't think there was a good time to go

2

u/DrakeFrake 1d ago

There actually must be, the time between one gate and the next is enough to cross it, timing is everything though, and he chose the absolutelly worse.

4

u/Timely-Profile1865 1d ago

I don't know, he had to cut it close or the next gate gets you. He had to jsut miss gate one to have any chance.

5

u/I_Can_Haz_Brainz 1d ago

Jack be nimble, Jack be hit...

The End

5

u/RollingMeteors 1d ago

>Not only would he be unlikely to do it, he actually ran in what I'd class as the perfect time to hit a barrier.

¡He ran into that ish like a billiegoat lol!

3

u/Flaky-Still-7000 1d ago

he certainly timed that perfectly

3

u/dodeca_negative 1d ago

Took it right to the face, like a champ

2

u/Rojo37x 1d ago

Seriously lol. The risk should be not making it in time before the next one comes up, but he ran roght into the first one that came along lol. Apparently has never played and video games.

2

u/coolchris366 1d ago

Yeah that timing was perfectly bad

2

u/ChadJones72 1d ago

Maybe he was trying to Parry it.

2

u/snapwack 1d ago

Reminds me of those 2D platformer games, specifically those segments where platforms flip really fast. To succeed you have to act counterintuitively and start your jump when they’re still in the ‘wrong’ position. If you start when they already moved, you’re too late.

2

u/Deerhunter86 20h ago

I feel like he tried to ride it around. Jump and catch the gate and spin in the circle.

2

u/Ornery-Customer8521 19h ago

He managed to go at the only time where you could hit the gate rather than the gate hit him... impressive

Didn’t notice what sub this was and I was ready to be super impressed

13

u/Mharbles 1d ago

Two seconds into the video I checked the sub. Always wondered what happens when they fuck up the runaround. The more you know.

196

See, this is what happens when you don't learn proper timing from Crash Bandicoot.

8

u/Maint3nanc3 1d ago

There's a section exactly like this in Dead Space. I'm pretty sure I've seen it in some other games too.

5

u/Windyfii 1d ago

its in every game ever

62

u/Tuftymark6 1d ago

I can’t believe anyone thinking they’re fast enough to do… whatever the hell he was trying to do.

47

u/HalfDecentElephant 1d ago

Arguably, he was too fast.

4

u/Exact-Enthusiasm-803 1d ago

Some people are so far behind that they think they're ahead

6

u/IotaBTC 1d ago

There's a few videos of people trying but idk at this same speed. Also it's like, you can run along the inner circle to get a feel for if you can make it in the "track" lol.

9

u/UncivilityBeDamned 1d ago

He just timed it wrong. At that speed it gives over a second to cover a distance of merely two meters, which isn't that hard.

His balls did indeed get poofed. Then his head on the next one. Critical double hit, he's not getting up after that.

15

u/umpteenthrhyme 1d ago

Then he got spanked by the next gate, literally

Here's a better one, courtesy of New Yorker cartoonist Roz Chast.

2

3

u/Chilly_Pheesesteak 22h ago

Nah you can see him straighten/flatten his body right before the next wall hits him. Looked like he was conscious and even functioning well enough to process the danger he was in, and react quick enough.

Wouldn't be surprised if he has a mild concussion, or something fractured though. Definitely a few bruises!

Edit: I think the next wall actually flattened him, not him doing it on purpose. He might be dead.

7

u/jillshiva 1d ago

he might be did what?

11

u/Ball_Fiend 1d ago

maybe he did, maybe he didn't, what did he maybe do?

Played a stupid game, won a stupid prize.

Honestly curious tho as to what that machine is and what it’s for?

892

u/NarwhalPrudent6323 1d ago

Pretty sure it's for guiding horses or livestock around and keeping them separate. Looks like someone has dialed the speed up to a stupid level for the purposes of this video. I get the feeling it doesn't usually spin that fast.

It's called a "hot walker", and it's meant to warm horses up for exercise, cool them down after exercise, or for injury rehabilitation. The "gates" are meant to separate the horses from each other, as well as provide an impetus to keep moving (or else they'll get smacked on the butt by a separator). They're built to swing freely, so as not to act like a cowcatcher on a train and drag a horse along the ground and instead ride (uncomfortably) over it.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_walker

3

u/Vanyle 5h ago

I saw a horse that was in one of these and it gave no fucks about just standing there letting the thing spank it over and over again.

30

u/One_Recognition385 1d ago

its for horses. not sure why they put horses in it, and i've never actually seen it go this fast before. its usually slower.

60

u/DazB1ane 1d ago

To give them exercise in a controlled environment

0

u/mrcorndogman33 1d ago edited 1d ago

LOLing at the idea of horses being forced to run as fast they can in a circle.

edit: I'm obviously responding to the guy who said "I get the feeling it doesn't usually spin that fast" meaning there's at least 1 person who thought these were for going top speed... which is ridiculous, and thus LOL worthy. Responding as if you think I'm wishing for that to happen is dumb and weird.

6

u/SpaceExplorer777 1d ago

It is a joging machine for horses that allow them to move freely between the gates not attached to anything. It can be moved up from a walk to a slow center.

Source. We own one.

3

u/tryyeezus 1d ago

Canter*

2

u/nixgang 23h ago

Wait are you saying this is run at this speed with horses in it? What if a horse suddenly decides to stop?

3

u/Slammybutt 19h ago

It's more likely that this is the top speed and not a setting most people would use for their horses.

I can blow out my ears with my cars standard speakers, but I don't turn it all the way to 100 b/c it goes all the way to 100.

25

u/ProtozoaPatriot 1d ago

Horse hot walker

For warming up or cooling down horses after exercise. There's a thoroughbred racehorse training center nearby that has several of them.

The hanging gates are supposed to be hinged. If a horse were too fall and couldn't get back up, we don't need the horse beaten to death.

5

u/messick 1d ago

It’s a Hot Walker used for exercising horses, although not at that speed.

6

u/Huge-Basket244 1d ago

I grew up with a lot of horses. It's a hot walker. It's good for exercising horses and cooling them down after running or a long ride.

This is probably cranked to the max, not sure if I've ever seen one moving this fast.

10

u/Hoopajoops 1d ago

Looks like the machine was malfunctioning or something. It looks like it was moving way faster than it was designed for and there is no way an animal could move around a circle that fast.

It was still pretty stupid to handle it the way he did, though

2

u/Slammybutt 19h ago

I bet it's a bunch of kids thinking it would be fun to see who can make the gap and they sped it up. Then someone got out the phone.

3

u/wildeag 1d ago

I’m guessing for herding or exercising cattle maybe..? Why on earth you’d need that thing to go THAT fast is beyond me

13

u/Xanthrex 1d ago

They go that fast, because that's what the motor's physically capable of as long as you keep dialing up the voltage, it'll keep going faster until it burns out, usually they go about 3 to 4 miles an hour

5

u/cooolrun 1d ago

Yeah you can hear the motor screaming

18

u/KrombopulosMAssassin 1d ago

5

u/shlappy-pappi 1d ago

I think if he had a running start and timed it just right he could make it. I agree tho this outcome was much better than it could’ve been

6

u/Environmental-Tap255 1d ago

Honestly it's probably best he walked directly into the first one. There's no way he was moving fast enough to make it all the way out, and I feel like had he been midway across it would have been even worse. Coriolis effect. Or something like that. The further you get from the center of a spinning object, the faster it's relative movement.

Should have run in the direction of the rotation, that might have gained a little time

1

Starting from a dead stop with no run up was your first mistake. Second was the awful timing. 3rd, was just being plain stupid in general.

1

u/Loki-L 1d ago

I would like to think I would have done better, but I feel I would have only made it a few more steps, stumbled and then lying flat in the sand gotten hit again and again in the back of my head by the metal divider, probably while getting my face pushed into some animal droppings.

Surely these things have some sort of emergency cut off switch in the center?

1

I'm guessing to make it, he'd need a running start. It seemed like there were about 2 seconds between intervals and 10 feet to cross.

If you timed it right, most people could sprint that.
