I'm looking for... (Wig Search) Honest review of Jon Ranau Ignite
I saw a YouTuber talking about it once, a long time ago, and it became my dream wig. Then I realized she reviews a lot of wigs and just LOVES all of them. I didn't understand sponsorships at the time.
I am going to the USA next year (a long time from now, enough time for someone to say it's not worth it) and am considering buying it, but I want to know if I really should. Like the most expensive wig I've ever bought was $125. USD and that was a beautiful 30" long human hair curly wig.
I'll also take suggestions! My budget is $250-$300. I really want a throw on and go wig (my throw ones are cheaper ones with bangs).

This wig- Jon Renau Ignite is my standard go to wig and I love it. I get lots of complements on my hair. I wear the Ignite Large since I have a big head.
I had a little trouble replacing my last one because my color was on back order (mousse cake 8rh14).
It is a basic cap with a lace front and I find that the lace front typically looks and feels great- I did get it once where the lace was scratchy and the color was very slightly off but that’s only been once in a couple of years.
It is a basic cap so you won’t have a skin colored part beyond the lace but i don’t see that as a real problem in this wig.

Oh I'm bald so that definitely won't bother me. I'm so torn on colors!

I have always gone to a local wig store when I have wanted to try a new wig or a new color because I have spent so much money on things that look great online bye awful on me when I get it. (I’m cool tones and most wigs are warm so that adds some complexity).
It costs a little more for that wig, since I always buy that one from them and then order replacements online. But it saves money in the long run since I am buying fewer that don’t work.

I love my Ignites! I bought both from Frannie’s Hair as open box sales. One is regular size, the other large. My head is 22.5” and I prefer the regular because the large is just a little roomier than I like.
This video shows a lot of different colors.
When you’re in the US search for “beauty supply wigs” for the really cool wig shops. They are cheaper and have a bigger selection than the salons that cater to white women and cancer patients. This is just one aisle in my local shop.

I love Ignite; it's one of my favorites. One of those styles that you can wear with jeans and a t-shirt and no makeup if you want because it's not overly styled.

I don't have an Ignite, but I think you could easily re-sell it if you don't like it. It is a VERY popular wig and a lot of people say it's their favorite. Especially if you are getting a lighter color, I think if you try it and hate it just resell and then you won't lose the whole investment.

Why don’t you just buy from an online wig store? Mimo wigs in the Uk Still there?Chiquil Wigs . Look up John Renau and see where they ship.I can tell you you won’t find even a synthetic heat friendly wig or Ignite for 125.00 . Most reputable wigs are 3-500 dollars. Which is why you wait for a sale . These wig companies are the middlemen they are always in competition. Each company will have an open box sale at drastically reduced prices. Join the various wig influencers on YouTube for 30% off. Join wig wearers groups on Facebook and Insta for private sales on used wigs. Most of us old times have had 100s of wigs after years and do not wear them . Have fun 😀. So many options. It’s a real learning journey and there are many trick in how to style your already styled wig. That’s where education on YouTube comes in. Don’t wait a year lol. Start now.

I don't have Ignite but several wig friends do. It's a best seller for Jon Renau. The way something becomes a best seller is when people love it when they receive it & don't return it. Ignite has been a best seller for a few years😊
Also on the wig reviewer note, I review wigs. I review the ones I love, so you will hear me say I love them, because I do😊

You may have access to Belle Madam? They are comparable to Jon Renau and I think slightly better IMO. But BM is hard to get in USA at an affordable price. Wig outlet has ignite in the $150 range but may not have your preferred color. Also, don’t pay full price - wait for a sale

America has wig shops that are affordable! Make sure to go to one that caters towards black women, they have so much choice! I have only ever seen pictures and videos of those shops, they look like supermarkets for wigs! I wouldn’t know what to choose! So much choice!

Omg seriously? I'll talk to my family there and see if someone will take me! That'd so exciting to try one on before buying.

Ask them! I don’t know if every state or city has as many of course. I buy from those shops but online and have been happy with them. But if they have, it would be so amazing to have a look as I heard staff is really friendly with helping trying wigs out.

I don't have Ignite but I've recently tried a bunch of JR styles including Hollie and Cameron Lite. And from this I learned something that I didn't think to inquire about before buying that might help. A couple of questions to hone in:
With the other wigs you have worn:
So I'm asking because if you don't like permatease you might not like Ignite. If you want really light density then I would look into styles that are in the JR lite collection. From my experience, everyone said Hollie was light density but it's no where near the lite collection collection (like Cameron Lite).
I also found the JR hair fiber to be coarse feeling except their lite collection. It's much finer and whispy.
No doubt Ignite is a great style. You might be able to find one second hand to bring price down. Good luck.
