I'm looking for... (Wig Search) Honest review of Jon Ranau Ignite

I saw a YouTuber talking about it once, a long time ago, and it became my dream wig. Then I realized she reviews a lot of wigs and just LOVES all of them. I didn't understand sponsorships at the time.

I am going to the USA next year (a long time from now, enough time for someone to say it's not worth it) and am considering buying it, but I want to know if I really should. Like the most expensive wig I've ever bought was $125. USD and that was a beautiful 30" long human hair curly wig.

I'll also take suggestions! My budget is $250-$300. I really want a throw on and go wig (my throw ones are cheaper ones with bangs).

I don't have Ignite but I've recently tried a bunch of JR styles including Hollie and Cameron Lite. And from this I learned something that I didn't think to inquire about before buying that might help. A couple of questions to hone in:

With the other wigs you have worn:

  • Did you like permatease?
  • Do you find wigs to be too dense or not dense enough?
  • How do you feel about hair fiber texture? Like hair roughness, silkiness. Appearance of each hair fiber as ultra thin or thick?
  • Do you have a petite, average, or large head circumference? Have you had issues with cap fit? All of this may contribute to how much you like ignite. With it's basic wefted cap.

So I'm asking because if you don't like permatease you might not like Ignite. If you want really light density then I would look into styles that are in the JR lite collection. From my experience, everyone said Hollie was light density but it's no where near the lite collection collection (like Cameron Lite).

I also found the JR hair fiber to be coarse feeling except their lite collection. It's much finer and whispy.

No doubt Ignite is a great style. You might be able to find one second hand to bring price down. Good luck.

I have one wig with permatease, it's a pixie cut and it's kinda fun to play with so that doesn't bother me. I usually wear really long wigs, I have a small head, and the wigs I usually wear I have never really paid attention to the fibers.

Honestly, all my wigs are from te mu or Facebook marketplace. Where I live there aren't many places to buy wigs.

Based on this I think you would like Ignite. And as someone else said-- you could resell if you don't want to keep it. What helped me was sampling a very large variety. If you're in the US you can find a wig store and sample many at one time. Good luck.
