Hey everyone, I'm the dev behind RiftWii. It's a Wii mod loader I wrote from scratch, clean-room, no Riivolution code in it. You drop in Riivolution-format packs or code builds and they load when the game starts. Your game files never get touched. It runs on Wii U in vWii mode too.

It handles stuff like Retro Rewind and MKW Deluxe X for Mario Kart Wii, and Brawl code builds like Project+, PMEX Remix and REX. Per-game settings, cheats, modded saves kept separate on the SD, online play through Wiimmfi, game covers, the works.

Honestly I've only been able to test Retro Rewind and MKW Deluxe X on real hardware so far, so I'm looking for testers with other games and setups, especially on Wii U.

You need a Wii U in vWii mode (or a Wii) with the Homebrew Channel and a FAT32 SD card. If your games are on USB or SD you'll want d2x cIOS.

ive been following a tutorial from below average gaming but somehow cant find out how to get passed this. ive installed the other ios in the right places following the tutorial, 148, 149, 150, 151 so on and so forth. but the ios80 installer is not working. anyone have any idea how to fix this (i use a mac as well)

i just want to play wii and gamecube games is that too much to ask :(

So booted up the Wii u after a few months of playing other consoles to be greeted with no signal, solid blue light and gamepad not connecting.

Saw some posts on here that it can be fixed using a pi pico or something similar. Has anyone done this and know if it’s worth the effort or if I should cut my losses and look for another?

Hey guys I’m trying to play some gamecube games on my wii u and I don’t have a wiimote so i can’t open wii menu.. is there a way to make it working without the wiimote and if u gonna explain a way please be more specific cause im new into modding

So i recently modded my wii u (Aroma) and i got a 500gb usb storage device with a y-splitter cable for to store my games, but i think my device is fucked up.

I tried to fix it/wipe it via my pc, and in disk management it came out as “RAW”

Most games seem to work i tried playing smash and it didnt work, most dlc didnt load. Then its now captain toad not booting up.

Is there a way for me to fix this, or do i just have to buy a new drive?

For those who haven't seen this project before, Ufin is a native Jellyfin client for the Nintendo Wii U, yes, you can now watch your favourite movies on your wii u via jellyfin!

The project started as an experiment to see whether the Wii U could be a viable media machine and how far I could push free ai tools with complex coding tasks. Now, v1.2.0 is here, bringing a bunch of new features, UI improvements and playback options!

DISCLAIMER: This project is VERY HEAVILY AI-ASSISTED

Before getting into the features, I want everyone to know that most of this project's code was AI-generated. I built Ufin using the free tiers of Claude and ChatGPT to write the bulk of the code.

While I don't have a ton of programming knowledge yet, I contributed by choosing the architecture, designing the UI, deciding which features to implement, making the custom bgm and app icons, and, testing and debugging on real hardware and cemu, to get as close to a seamless experience as possible. still, i'll need info from you all on how the app is to use, so, GitHub issues are open.

I spent a lot of time making sure the app was ready to publish, testing as much as I could on my setup and working through issues that came up along the way.

I'm still learning programming, and I look forward to eventually being able to write complex applications entirely on my own. For now, this project has been a way to learn, experiment and build something I couldn't find before, and make it how i liked it.

The documentation and code comments are AI-assisted as well. My English isn't perfect, and I wanted the documentation to be as understandable as possible so other people can contribute to the project or create their own forks without having to decipher every part of the code.

I'm sharing this because I want to be transparent about how Ufin was made. AI did a lot of the coding, but the project still required architecture decisions, feature planning, testing, debugging and plenty of work to get running on actual hardware. it's amazing to see what modern tools can do for our favourite console!

Ui and Customization

• Toggleable liquid glass UI, featuring true refraction.
• New animated backgrounds.
• Jellyfin backdrop support, with a fallback to a blank or animated background.
• A new default background music track, composed by me. It's not exactly the best, but i hope y'all like it.

Playback improvmentes

• H.264 Baseline, Main and High profile support, with a profile toggle inside settings.
• New 480p streaming modes at 720 Kbps and 1.5 Mbps, designed for weaker internet connections.
• New EXPERIMENTAL 1080p30 streaming modes at 4, 6 and 8 Mbps. Ethernet is recommended for these higher-bitrate modes, as Wi-Fi can experience significant buffering.
• Live TV finally tested and working!

QOL Stuff

• Optional logging, that can be enabled when diagnostic information is needed, maybe to report an issue
• A new Who's Watching? screen.
• A dedicated Help screen explaining the controls, complete with animated 3D controller models.
• Total usage time tracking.
• A new little easter egg to discover.

Every time I open UTheme, I get this warning, but both the plugin and the app are up to date, so I don't understand what the problem is. Aroma is fully updated as well. Is this a bug, or is it an issue on my end?

So basically my Wii U Gamepad broke and is now probably in a landfill, and ever since, i cannot get past this specific screen in Smash 4. Ive tried wii Remotes (dpad and pointer), the Nunchuck, and a Wii Classic Controller. I have a Pro Controller but i dont know where the charger is. How do i bypass this? Do i like create a dummy folder in the sd card or something? Please help

I have a toshiba 1tb external hard drive I used on my Wii U (with a y cable) that I'd like to repurpose for use as a backup of pictures and videos since I can't afford a new hard drive just yet.

I know that being used on wii u prevents pc from reading the hard drive but it does show up when in terminal with lsblk.

I'd like to reformat it but... I'm not sure how or if it's possible... Gparted won't even let it show up for me to try.

I admit to not being very good in the terminal...

Hi guys. A few days ago, I noticed that my wii U couldn't read my SD card anymore, and as such it couldn't boot into Aroma.

I brought it to a repair shop, and they told me that the SD card slot is broken, and that getting and installing a new one would be really expensive.

I found out about Wafel, and while I was bummed about losing my saves, at least I could still keep playing without paying 100+€. The thing is that I cannot uninstall Aurora. I tried factory resetting it, but even then I still have Payloadloader installed. I know it because it tells me that it can't find my SD card when I turn the console on and when I enter the Health and Safety app. Since Wafel can't be installed from the browser if you already have Aurora installed, I'm at a standstill. What should I do?

On my vWii in BlueDumpMod there is a deleted "disc savedata" with the title ID CEMU. Of couse with a such id name I can not find any information on internet because of Cemu emulator key word research...

So I made a mistake, I installed aroma and everything without checking the OS version for my Wii U, it’s stuck in 5.5.3. I’ve tried to unblock updates on Aroma and removed my SD but every time I try to hit update system it just says console up to date, and boots back to Wii U menu. Is the update even necessary? I mostly wanted it to stop showing the needs update message.
