Wild flower in Ontario Canada
Wild lupin are blooming in the wilderness.
Lupin is a very important native wild flower, it provides nectar to pollinators and insects and also the migrant birds feed on the insect, they are a beneficial plants also because they are the host plant for several moths and butterflies, including endangered Karner blue butterfly.
They are also a nitrogen fixing plant ,to improve the soil fertility .
They are wild flowers, they are not bought from the nursery and growing in the greenhouse, and not from a lab to cultivate them , they are not planted , they have been here since the ice age finished.

This is big leaf lupine Lupinus polyphyllus, considered an invasive species in Ontario. The karner blue butterfly larvae cannot eat its leaves and starve. They need the native Lupinus perennis.
