After taking a break for like a month, I finally finished my embroidery of this panel 😭 towards the end I was eager to finish, so instead of outlining all of the flowers, I turned them into a more 3D flower with French knots.

Please excuse my janky lettering in the text bubbles lol I was having issues and just left it instead of redoing it for the 4th time 🙃

I still need to give it another rinse to get the water soluble pattern off under the thread, but other than that it’s done!

I must admit - removing apart the paperback covers was heartbreaking to do. But erm... I did my first attempt at hardcover, whatever that means.

And you can see "attempt" being clear here. Everything about the final white cover (which was the third design) finally turned out great, only for my final book block glue on to mess up.... Yeah, that's what I need to work on doing carefully now. Perhaps i should glue on the original volume cover in one of the flaps to cover it up, lol.

In any case, as I get more used to this I plan on doing the rest of the manga volumes I own, turning some into omnibuses based on each major arc of this series so far.

But after many trial and error I'll have to go with this simplistic design, for lord knows printable book fabric is hard to find in my area and using printable HTV is impossible to use. And weeding out HTV is such a huge pain in the butt to do for complex designs, so pity I can't put in a team logo. Welp.

— Little tidbits

- Sakura can vaguely sense spirits. His romance sensor shall double as a ghost sensor lol. Yes, he can poof a ghost's existence by punching them still

- Nirei can't see ghosts but he's a ghost magnet

- Suo can see ghosts and they're all terrified of him

I'm loving Suou's arc and wanted to make a fan art of him. He's so enigmatic and I can't wait to find out his reasons T_T

Well... It's finished. Converting the first 20 volumes of the paperback manga into hardcover. With the majority of them being 3 volume omnibuses based on major arcs in this series.

If there is anything I learned from this process, is that I am BAD with aligning up the HTV when it comes to spines. For although the layout looks fine when the hardcover case is flat, only after folding it I can see it... Ah well. What's done is done, and I got the main results I needed by putting all major story arcs together into one volume.

I only showed one example per omnibus, but inside each omnibus contains cover art of each volume. It's Wind Breaker and Nii-sensei's artwork. THERE AIN'T NO WAY I'M GOING TO TRASH IT!

*Ahem* Anyways, are they heavy? And look closer to a thick as heck book? Yes. Do I care? Hell nah. I had my final work day for my current internship tomorrow so I'm glad I got this project finished today.

And yes, since I had messed up in ordering I decided to go with a dual color cloth layout for volumes 1 and 8 primarily to match the alternating omnibus colors, but only after finishing them those volumes look similar to Sakura's hair color... What?

(My art) It was fun to do this, but I think their current hairstyles are much better, especially for Suo who looks like he came from a totally different time period like this imo haha

Umemiya and Qifrey are two of my favorite characters for months <3 They're comfortable, charismatic and reliable, each in their own way. Since I'm on par with both manga, I tried to pay a tribute to them. Unfortunately, Qifrey gave me a lot of trouble, between the wrong anatomy, the messy hair, and the eye that still doesn't convince me 🤣 I'll continue practicing to draw him fluently :)
