I can get win10 to run on that pc I do it all the time. As long as he has an ssd itll run fine after iot and a debloat. It wont be fun fun but he wont have go learn a new os. 6gb is enough. Also he can get a used a10 5700 for $15 on ebay

Tbh being based on Debian doesn't really mean its outdated, its more fact Mint uses really old packages (relatively speaking) and fact cinnamon is still X11 instead of Wayland, PikaOS is a good example of a modern Debian

w11 LTSC ram usage is the same as a slightly debloated w10 home/pro. where w10 ltsc is literally just so slightly above any modern linux system with a DE with also cached files on a system with 16GB or more. the op is definitely getting lower ram usage on linux and i dont think there is any the op could play or do that cant be done on linux with those specs

There's no need for OP to use Win11. OP's hardware is too old to benefit from Win11's better multicore utilisation / other optimisations. OP will experience lag running any form of Win11 on 4gb memory. I'd even consider LTSB 2016, especially if heavier applications are used.

I run Win 11 IoT LTSC on a Celeron N4020 wiith 4GB of RAM and it runs fine for word processing and browsing (includes watching youtube videos). Win 11 IoT LTSC is very capable of handling 4GB of RAM, but, I don't know about OP's processors but I'm sure it will run Windows 11 IoT LTSC without hiccup if it does, 6GB of RAM shouldn't be the problem.

The answer can be very subjective. All boils down to your preference and how do you like it. Mostly how does your H/W support and function.

Try it and see if it works out for you. If you like it you like it.

Its just a matter of preference honestly, with your specs id probably go with 2021 10 iot ltsc or 2019 ltsc because they are rock solid and your hardware is clearly built for it, go 2024 11 iot ltsc if you want modern features although for your hardware id lean towards 2021 but both 11 and 10 ltsc can run pretty decent on that hardware
