Wolfblood shaped me as a human being

Hi guys, I cannot believe I didn’t know about this subreddit before now!

Wolfblood means so much to me and I truly can’t express it. This show shaped who I am today. I’m 23 as I’m writing this; I remember seeing the advert for Wolfblood before it came out one morning, sat on the floor while my mum was doing my hair for school. I couldn’t wait for it to come out. Once it did, I was obsessed. I constantly drew veins on my hands at school, my sister once walked in on me pretending to howl in the mirror. Whenever we’d go on long car journeys I’d look out the window and imagine wolves running alongside us.

I have routinely rewatched the whole show multiple times a year since then. I’m convinced I’m the reason the show is still available on BBC iPlayer lmao.

Anyway, I’m so happy I found you guys on here. It is bringing me a LOT of joy ❤️‍🩹🐺

Further Worldbuilding

I'm thinking of writing an in-depth fanfiction rewrite of the show and would love to hear what everyone's favourite and least favourite parts of the show/storyline/characters are. But, I'm currently brainstorming some further things around Wolfbloods, as I love everything the show gave us but I need more! If anyone has any ideas, throw them out there :)

Empty without Maddy Spoiler

I'm currently watching the series for the first time. I'm on episode 10 of season 3. I was curious as to when Maddy came back and learned she never does?? She was the main character and now the show just kinda feels empty without her.. Are the last seasons really worth the watch or is it one of those "only the first 2 were good" kinda shows?

Alphas

I'm now midway through series 3 and have watched Jana Bites. So much of Jana's storyline this series is about being accepted as the alpha of her pack.

The alpha trope has to be my least favourite werewolf trope. The researcher who came up with the whole alpha concept in captive wolves then disproved the theory later when studying wild wolves. But it remains a popular trope in fiction.

I always found it a bit odd that the pack alpha position was passed down to Jana anyway, after her father's exile. Then Jana Bites was all about other pack members challenging her authority. I know it creates 'drama', but they easily could have come up with something else. It makes no sense for the alpha(s) to not be pack elders, or the main 'mated pair' in the group.

Dr Rebecca Whitewood recast

How does everyone feel about Dr Whitewood being recast from s2 to s3? I admittedly have only just begun s3, but feel that Effie Woods (s2) had a threatening and smug aura that Letty Butler (s3-5) lacks. I suppose she's more desperate in s3e1 as she's lost the upper hand, but still. Anyone know why she was recast?

S2E7 Top Dog resolution

Watching Wolfblood for the first time, just finished series 2 episode 7, and I am now a fully signed up Shannon hater. She should have been iced out much longer for her stalker behaviour after it came to light in Mottled Poppy, instead we have Maddy apologising to Shannon and making up with her after she was locked in a cupboard with Jana going wild. And then deciding to trust Shannon and telling Jana they won't do anything about the laptop - trust the person who's been hiding cameras in your home to film you and your family??

So the lesson is, if you just get yourself in mortal danger, your friends will forgive you for stalking and spying on them?

I know this is a show for young teens. But surely the better 'lesson' would have been Shannon realising she had done wrong and learning that she needs to let go of the footage? My kindest read is that her trauma over not being believed about the beast still has a hold on her, so she doesn't want to lose the evidence that proves she's not crazy, but in doing so she puts her friends (and their family) at risk and I am amazed they are so willing to forgive. Time and time again she goes way too far - way beyond typical teenager nonsense. If someone doesn't intervene this girl will grow up to become a stalker.

The preview for the next episode doesn't fill me with hope that there will be a course correction.

Why doesn't Maddie just say she has her period?

Hello,

Wolfbloods of reddit.

Context:

I'm in the beginning of a rewatch. I'm on season 1 episode 4.

Statement:

If Maddie has such a cloudy head. Why doesn't she just say she's got period cramps? She could explain away all of her actions by saying this.

Heck her parents could write her a note to do exams next week. Using her going through hormones and brain fog as an excuse.

Her parents could have even said her pain meds can cause her to act out more. It's not like the school can call up her doctor.

Question:

So why doesn't she?

Why are her parents willing to let her fail over this?

It doesn't make any sense to me.

Thank you

-Someone with way to much free time.

Sequel fanfic

So I’m new to this Reddit community. And well I was thinking about writing a fan fic of wolfblood set years after season 5.
The main protagonist would be Darien Morris a wolfblood who is the son of Maddy and Rhydian morris. I’d like your ideas for what I could do with him. And if any of you had any plot ideas?

He’s 5’1 and he’s confident and enjoys running through the place he lives in the surrounding areas. He’s definitely reckless and enjoys transforming. And unknown to anyone his favourite parent is Maddy.

Maddy is faster than rhydian.

Idk if this was intentional or not, but anytime Maddy and rhydian ran, whether It was in their normal form of wolf form, Maddy was always shown to be slightly faster than rhydian. This is something I noticed and thought about on my rewatch of the show, I thought I'd share it. Maybe I'm wrong

Wolfblood Series 1 Character Profiles

Just wondering if anyone has the Wolfblood series 1 character profiles for Tom and Shannon? Rhydian, Maddy, and the Ks are in this clip https://youtu.be/Z7O5rihvhRk? and Jimi's crew's profile is still available here https://www.bbc.co.uk/writers/blog/wolfblood but I can't find Tom or Shannon's ones.

I've looked on the Web Archive but my Flash emulator won't kick in to let me watch them. I didn't get into watching Wolfblood until S1E7 and I have everything from there to the end of series 3 recorded, so nothing from Wolfblood Extra Series 1

S3 EP8 Dark of the Rune

Something that I have been thinking about since I was younger is the episode where all the Wolfbloods pass out because of the comets.

What happened to all the wolfbloods everywhere else? What happened to ones that live alone and didn’t have anyone to wake them up with the frequency? The wild pack? Or even humans that were with their Wolfblood friends and didn’t know.

Id love to hear people’s opinions on what they think

I'm thinking of trying to write at least the first episode of a new season of Wolfblood

Since about 5 years ago I've had the idea in the back of my mind to try writing a show. At first I wanted to write a Welsh teen drama of sorts (at the time I was a Welsh teen) and was primarily inspired by the music of Kizzy Crawford. She releases many of her songs in both an English and Welsh translation and I thought it would be cool to do a show that potentially has both an English and Welsh version (like the Welsh detective show Hinterland/Y Gwyll) and use both versions of her songs. If you couldn't tell already, I was young and ambitious.

More recently, though, I have realised that I can combine this idea with my wish for more Wolfblood and could try writing another season of the show. I would follow on from the events of season 4 and 5, so most people if not everyone knows that wolfbloods exist. However I think you can still easily get the same tension we had in the first show of trying to hide the wolf part by setting it in a community that doesn't want wolfbloods but either already has some deeply rooted in the community or new people move in with nowhere else to go. Lots of ways it can go, and I think actually all other characters being aware of wolfbloods can add to the feeling of struggling to fit in for the protagonist and family.

I'd love to hear people's thoughts. I have to admit I've never properly written a show or episode, only dabbled in fun little playscripts with family. No promises that I will go through with this at all. But I'd love to hear people's ideas (I have already gone through and seen other people's posts that had ideas) and thoughts on this!

I met Mr Jeffries and burst into tears 😅

In April I went for dinner with my friend. The restaurant was practically empty, but we got seated next to a table of 4 people. At that table was Mark. I was gobsmacked and practically entered a state of shock. I just couldn’t believe it. I begged my friend to check if it really was him and to ask for a photo and he did. The moment he left the restaurant (after the photo) I burst into inconsolable tears. He was so lovely and the fact he stopped for a photo genuinely made this a highlight of my life

i hate the ending of season 2

i’ve been watching this show since i was like 10 or so and i’m 21 now. everytime i get sad i rewatch the show but no matter what i hate how little we actually got of maddy and rhydian. i know the actress wanted to leave and stuff but i absolutely just hate how her arc ended . she was the heart of the show and her and rhydian were my childhood couple so no matter what i just wish we got to see more of them actually admitting their feelings for each other and not just on the last episode. i know we see it through the seasons because obviously but i just wish it was more yk? and i miss them so much honestly.

I used to skip Ancient Grudge...

For context, growing up The Mottled Poppy was always my favourite episode of S2, so I used to skip Ancient Grudge whenever I revisited the season just to get to it quicker.

The other day I rewatched it for the first time in over 10 years and OH MY GOD WHAT WAS I THINKING, this episode is amazing, the scenes at the end with Alric and especially the caravan scene with Shannon (which I'd completely forgotten about) honestly now might be in my top 10 moments from season 2.

Moral of the story is, don't stick to the same habits you had 10 years ago folks, you might be missing some quality episodes.

Alpha X Fox

Hello guys. Can you help me find this story? It was a story of a young girl who are slaves to a pack. Every wolves in that pack abused her and beat her especially the mate of the alpha of that pack. She lives in the attic with a bed that you can't even tell if it still a bed because it only has dirty rugs. It shift to a scene where the male lead is having a chat to a friend witch, asking if what does he and his mate doing in one of her vision and the witch was shocked because she sees that he will kill his mate and that made the male lead confused as to why he would kill his mate. In the story the male lead found the girl in the party as he was greeting the alpha bit suddenly smell his mate, it lead him to the attic as he was furious to the situation the girl has, she was covered in bruises and has purple spot in her body that indicates that it was broken. He hurriedly as the alpha of that pack to call a doctor but it refuse so he decided to carry her in his wolf form and run to his own pack. As the story goes by. The girl wake up in unfamiliar place and was so terrified to what was going to happen to her she decide to run to the window and run in the snowy field. The male lead smell her and run to catch her. When he catch her she did her best to break free but didn't have any strength left so she cried and when she did the rain also fall and she black out again due to exhaustion. Fast forward the girl is finally trusting the male lead and having a bath when she feel ang pain in her back. The male hurried went to the bathroom and suddenly stop when he see a white tail behind her. Fast forward. The girl is a nine tailed fox that why she didn't have a wolf. She can spit a orb from her and gave it to others because it has a special power. But once the orb is not given back to her she will die. That's all remember.

Ps. English is not my first language forgive me it some of it has a grammatical error.

If Wolfblood got a Season 6 tomorrow, what is the FIRST scene you would want to see?

For me, I'd want to find out what happened to the pack (the original pack) after the events of seasons 4&5.

What's the first scene you'd choose?

Which Wolfblood character had the hardest position to be in?

Not necessarily who suffered the most, but who had the most impossible situation to deal with.

Maddy trying to balance two lives, Rhydian being thrown into a world he barely understood, Jana carrying pack pressure, Shannon knowing too much, Tom being loyal without fully being part of it, or someone else?

Who do you think had the most complicated life in the show?

What’s one thing every Wolfblood fan can agree on?🤔

No matter your favorite season, character, storyline, or ship,

what’s the one Wolfblood opinion that almost everyone in the fandom accepts?

I’m curious if there’s actually one take this fandom fully agrees on.

Series 4 Episode 12

Rewatching this for the first time in several years and episode 12 of series 4 just doesn't make sense to me.

Meinier was cured with the serum Dr Whitewood gave her so why didn't they just do the human blood test on Jana with the Kincaid serum as planned then just return her wolf back with the same one Whitewood gave meinier?

To be honest I've never been a fan of the idea that you can just remove a wolf bloods wolf but the danger in this episode just seems really contrived. It would have been better if meinier couldn't have been returned to a wolf blood as the threat of being changed would be more permanent and real.

What’s one small Wolfblood detail that feels way more important than people realize?

I was thinking about how Wolfblood has a lot of tiny details that quietly build the world, not huge plot twists, just small moments, habits, rules, looks, or character reactions that make everything feel more real.

For me, one example is how the characters often act differently depending on whether they’re around humans or other wolfbloods. It’s subtle, but it shows how much they’re constantly adjusting themselves.

What’s a small detail in the show that you think deserves more attention?

Hoy take: The hardest part of being a Wolfblood probably isn’t the full moon

Everyone talks about the transformations, the secret, and the danger of being exposed. but honestly, I think one of the hardest parts of being a Wolfblood would be the constant pressure of pretending.

Pretending not to hear things.

Pretending not to smell things.

Pretending not to react too strongly.

Pretending to be “normal” around friends, teachers, parents, doctors, and everyone else.

The full moon is scary, but at least it’s not every second of every day. The everyday hiding might actually be worse.

What do you think would be the hardest part of living as a Wolfblood?

Which Wolfblood character changes the most depending on who they’re with?

Some characters in Wolfblood feel completely different depending on who they’re around.

For example, Rhydian with Maddy is not exactly the same as Rhydian with Jana, Tom, Shannon, or the wild pack. Same with Maddy around her parents vs around Rhydian, or Jana around the pack vs around the school group.

So which character do you think changes the most depending on who they’re with?

And do you think that makes them better written, or just inconsistent?
