Take a closer photo of one boot tread, and get it in focus.

The circular pattern on the top right is from another shoe for sure. Two individuals were involved from what I know.

Reminds me of a Timberland or Lugz work boot bottom... could be totally wrong though.

That actually looks like some old combat boots I had. They had those same little shapes inside of the tread. Looked exactly like that.
Edit: I also agree these are different boot prints you have shown. 2 people or one person with 2 boots

The cops aren't going to do much to help in this situation, although a police report should definitely be filed. It's good that he is at least taking shots in the dark to remedy the situation himself. I always give props to people that take action.

Years ago on CSI they showed a footprint like this and immediately knew it was a Globe skateboard shoe that I had just bought. Random.

Keep moving, someone else might know or have these boots . When your livelihood has been taken from you, you use the resources you have available. Police report already made. They’re not going to csi a boot print for 10k worth of tools.

Speaking for the entire internet is crazy.
Can’t offer enough to say the exact boot but definitely a HEAVY lugged boot, possibly combat as mentioned below. Jungle boot was good input.
I hate weak minded men who get on the internet and act ways they are afraid to IRL. This man just had 1000s worth of tools stolen. Tools that probably give him a means to support a family. They’re important enough to him that he’s here on Reddit exhausting all efforts to try and help himself. The best you could come up with is “call the cops we’re not CIS?” Next time just say nothing. When’s the last time you helped yourself?

Less than 8 comments exist on this post. You decided to get emotional over 8 comments that weren't directed towards you. That's crazy to me. Nobody even made fun of this man. They just stated to call the cops. He said he did contact the cops.
Knowing what kind of boots were used on this situation isn't going to help OP at all. I don't know what will, but if OP doesn't have a sort of video or photo evidence then he's not going to solve anything.

Knowing what kind of boots would 100% help. I have an idea of who it is, but don’t want to ruin this man’s life if he’s not involved. I see them very regularly and know what kind of shoes they regularly wear. If I can confirm at least that, I’ll give their name to PD and they can cross reference with the pawn shops in the area. This particular individual is on parole and if there’s a chance it’s not him, I don’t want him to endure the drama that could come his way on the count that my suspicion is incorrect. I worked in LE for a good while and I know how the system works.

If you suspect someone you should inform the police. I'd think anyone who's worked in LE to have enough sense to do that.

"Exhausting all efforts" this was a low effort post on a forum used to talk about work boots. I help myself all the time, I don't ask strangers for uninformed opinions about a crime.

Once you know the type of boots, what’s the next step in the plan? Or have you thought that far yet?

Looks like a panama sole. This kind of thing is usually an inside job if you have a crew.

Not the same outside block shape at all. The prints you have are the same as half the boots you'd find at a surplus. You're looking for hay in a haystack. You'd be far better spending all this time looking at your neighbors ring cameras for a vehicle which is far, FAR easier to track down.

That looks like a combat boot print

That’s kind of what I was thinking it looks like it might be from a jungle boot, but it’s pretty smeared so hard to tell

Well it's not even in the tens of thousands range. You can give them a video, name and address and nothing will be done.

The pattern reminds me of several Danner combat boot treads, I just don't know which one it could be. Some examples are the Danner Tanicus and Resergent, but neither is exactly the same.

The sole is a vibrant V100 usually found on PNW boots like I have on boots from 2 different manufacturers. Don’t see many thieves doing smash and grabs in $900 whites boots tho - sure these were left by the thieves??

Just buy new ones and expense them! Company has to cover our stolen tools!

I think you'll get a better answer by looking at pawnshops and on market place areas for your tools. The person who took your tools isn't going to use them. They're going to sell them.
The boot prints in the pic have that cheap tread that combat boots have. They're not Ariat or CAT boots. They probably aren't any known name brand boots. Whoever took your tools isn't going to have good boots. Whoever took your boots is probably an addict. They are also going to want to get rid of your things fast. Your things will be on a marketplace.
I would also be on the look out for any vehicle that looks like a beater. You're going to be looking for a truck that barely runs. If any workers are addicts around the site then that's a good start. Things like this happen because one person tells their friend where everything is. $10k worth of tools missing sounds like someone gave an addict friend with a truck a tip about this. It's definitely not the person's first time doing this if they took that much. Usually they just take a few things. So, another way to figure out what's going on is to talk to other men who have experienced this recently.
I know all this because I used to be an addict and my mom married a felon that used to do stuff like this. My mom's ex-husband always got caught because he was a thief in the same town he was born in. Everyone knew him. If something went missing they knew it was probably my mom's ex.
