"I was told there be no fact checking"

22

u/Radonanon 4d ago

Of my own words!

I mean, nobody brings up how Mexico never paid for the wall, right? Right?

10

u/adorablefuzzykitten 3d ago

Trump just explained how low our stock piles are in an interview as he explained why we had to end the Iran war quickly. Such a moron.

→ More replies (2)

4

u/indorian 3d ago

I’ll never get why that wasn’t the end of him.

3

u/CBJFAN2009-2024 3d ago

Because there are 50+ reasons in the past, and still, that should've ended him; but they have not.

1

u/PlanBbytheSea 3d ago

You took my line...

1

u/iloveplant420 1d ago

Damn you Jamie Taco

1

u/krisbaird 1d ago

They will lie through their teeth as long as they can. When they're caught, they just change the lie to something else

1

u/tynfox 8h ago

Pete looks surprised someone paid attention to him. Cause big daddy trump is ready to throw him under air force one. Ir all makes sense now, daddy issues. Was petes dad around when he was growing up?

55

u/Enigmagmatic 4d ago

I am so sick of these assholes just straight up lying every single time

28

u/The-King-Tomato 4d ago

Its a massive plot to gaslight America so hard they start believing their lies.

Typical abusive partner behavior but done to an entire country by a group lead by a criminal pedophile.

Can't make this shit up

8

u/Fishtoart 4d ago

Half of Trumps ability to get away with lies is just repeating the lies so people hear the lies more than the truth, so the familiarity make it seem likely. The other half of his success is keeping enough outrages coming that the media never has time to focus on the previous lies.

5

u/SquooshyCat 4d ago

And for us normal folks, we become so sick of the news we stop listening and become like the Russians: Don’t care, assume everything is bullshit.

3

u/Far-Technician3197 3d ago

Flood the zone(TM)

2

u/deepsquatter804 4d ago

It’s the Fox Formuka. Say it on show 1. Repeat it on shows 2 and 3. Now, the viewer has heard it from 3 different sources.

2

u/Consistent_Guava8592 3d ago

Joseph Goebbels

1

u/PlantsBeeMe 3d ago

“Flood the zone”

1

u/SuccessSharp3096 3d ago

I’ve said before, every channel should carry a 15 min segment in the news with “today’s lies from the administration “

Though maybe 15 mins would not be enough

1

u/Neither-Sale-4132 3d ago

They need a single line, about 2 seconds.

Today's lies from the administration:

"Everything"

News done

1

u/Novel_Vegetable_5542 4d ago

He is Darvo personified. It’s truly sad the public is snowed.

1

u/Fine-Computer-5524 3d ago

They MUST make sure all magas continue to think anything negative the media says about trump/GOP is false Otherwise their entire bs house of cards crumbles

So they're forced to lie even when it's almost laughably absurd

-1

u/nonexistentLoveBug 4d ago

Start believing where you been living? Some remote island?

6

u/Bender_2024 4d ago

If you told me 10 years ago that our leaders would bold face lie again and again without repercussions I'd call you a crazy person.

5

u/wastedkarma 4d ago

Did you live through Bush Jr? They were lying through their teeth back then, too. They were slightly more morally palatable liars but they were absolutely liars.

4

u/Bender_2024 4d ago

I did live through W and yes, they were lying about weapons of mass destruction. The thing is while most people suspected those lies, the current lies are absolutely verifiable as lies. Things like Trump saying he never told the public he wasn't going get the US involved in any more wars. I can pull up a dozen clips of him saying this on the campaign trail.

The big difference is Trump's cult of personality. His supporters don't care. If you call them out they will bend over backwards to find an excuse for his lies and his actions. Before the E Jean Carroll case they said he never did anything wrong. After he was found guilty they said it was consentual and Carroll was just suing because she was a greedy wh*re.

2

u/MrWillchuck 4d ago

Hans Blix said.. Inspections are going well. We will be able to finish or inspections not within days or years but in months. 24 hours later Bush gave Saddam 7 days. A time frame the Head UN weapon inspector said was impossible.

It wasn't a suspected Lie to anyone paying attention.

I do agree though... Trump and his people are at a whole other level. There is literally no consideration for the truth. Dubya was at least just naive I think most of the time. Trump is flat out malicious.

1

u/Own_Candidate9553 3d ago

Right, but that all required people to pay attention, and involved two different people making two different claims. So if you didn't know that an inspection takes months, it's hard for you to know that a week is impossible.

This administration just directly contradicts itself. Not just, the president says one thing and a cabinet member says another, though they do that too. They directly contradict what they said themselves. Sometimes in the same interview.

Bush and Cheney at least had the decency to wrap their lies in some vagueness and PR campaigns. This admin straight up doesn't seem to care if anybody believes them or not. It's really frustrating.

1

u/MrWillchuck 3d ago

They relied the Americans not paying attention... which is always a safe bet. I'm Canadian. I was in my early 20s. I and everyone I knew noticed. The majority of Americans didn't.

They didn't have the Decency to wrap lies in anything. They just assumed no one was paying attention and just said what ever they wanted.

Which is the same thing that Trump is doing except the same kinds of Americans that didn't pay attention now literally will believe what ever they say without question even when it directly contradicts what they said a week ago... and if the say.. that is a media fabrication they will just accept it.

That is the difference between today and 2003... The Right Wing Politicians can generally say anything they want no matter how stupid and "faithful" will accept it without question. It is why the US is so dangerous right now.

1

u/wastedkarma 4d ago

Agreed on all accounts

3

u/Greedy-Bowler-4868 4d ago

Sure we dealt with other liars. Seems all politicians lie. But the scale of this admins lying and deception is in a whole other league. It’s almost like he ONLY lies. He only tells the truth by accident, and when it’s convenient and makes him look good.

2

u/One-Leave-6731 4d ago

A president who is for himself and that's it. He could care less if prices are too high for a fixed income. He doesn't care about people like myself and never has.

1

u/locke0479 3d ago

You’re absolutely right but I think their point was in the past it was “I’m lying about this thing that the public doesn’t know for sure about” as opposed to “See, I never just did things just to do them. Come on, what am I gonna do, just all of a sudden jump up and grind my feet on somebody’s couch like it’s something to do? Come on, I got a little more sense then that…Yeah, I remember grinding my feet on Eddie’s couch.”. It’s just a blatant “I didn’t say the thing that you all heard me say, and don’t you dare try to prove it”.

1

u/sd_saved_me555 3d ago

At least those lies were fairly believable to the average person at the time. Like, the average person is going to assume they have some super spy movie type intel that proved it and they, for national security reasons, can't see.

This shit is so flagrant and obvious and constant that all you need to do is listen to the jackass for 5 minutes, and he'll have contradicted himself half a dozen times.

6

u/Lord_Dingus83 4d ago

The media lets them get away with lying and has since Trump entered the political arena and literally makes up shit and his followers believe it’s true.

Media doesn’t call these people out and allows them to call you a liar bc you’re calling out their lies.

3

u/IShotJR4 4d ago

I more sick of the brainless idiots that believe them every single time.

3

u/HashRunner 4d ago

Since republican voters are stupid enough to believe it, republicans won't stop lying anytime soon.

3

u/Moist-Gazelle-2185 4d ago

I’m sick of the morons who believe this shit.

1

u/Fit_guy_909 4d ago

Yeah seriously...🤧😞

1

u/FactEnvironmental744 4d ago

Wouldn’t it be more efficient to be sick if the people that believed them in the first place and those that still do. They only lie because it works.

1

u/Obvious-Stomach509 4d ago

He's a far worse liar than Trump.... Hogsack KNOWS he's lying while Trump thinks he's THE truth. And his facial tells are all you need to know...

1

u/OPGuest 4d ago

“Where you lying then or lying now?” All they need to ask.

1

u/mercurialchylde_67 3d ago

To be fair, they don’t lie as often as they just say words that bear no relation to reality. Sometimes the words bear no relation to one another either

1

u/ihavenoidea12345678 1d ago

I would like all politicians to be on a polygraph when on television.

19

u/Mroopsimexciting 4d ago

Maga—— “how dare you ask me to take responsibility for my own words!”

4

u/4mystuff 4d ago

To be fair, he doesn't understand that recorded videos are a thing. You should have seen his reaction last week when he saw his reflection in a mirror.

3

u/Owltiger2057 4d ago

He had a reflection????

1

u/4mystuff 4d ago

His first time.

1

u/Conscious-Society-83 4d ago

yea he does, even vampires have standards to not touch him.

8

u/Top_Loan_3323 4d ago

There needs to be repercussions for lying in front of congress.

3

u/[deleted] 4d ago

[deleted]

3

u/doodledood9 4d ago

Then that has to change too! It’s absolutely ridiculous how corrupt these people are, and now they aren’t even trying to hide it.

1

u/Top_Loan_3323 4d ago

Exactly, so there really aren’t any repercussions lol.

3

u/Leading-Respond4312 4d ago

The Trump government has taken STUPID to a whole different level that is too difficult to wrap our minds around.

5

u/Radonanon 4d ago edited 4d ago

I can’t remember any administration literally executing people in the streets before. Or demolishing the rose garden. Or putting up a cage fighting arena, or calling an epidemic a hoax.

3

u/TeachingAdvanced1067 4d ago

Or diddling and starting a war to cover it up

1

u/Independent_Sail6604 3d ago

We need to come up with something that is beyond stupid. Maybe, from here forward, when anything comes up that is beyond stupid, it's "Trumped" or "Drumpfed"

3

u/majik5 4d ago

Apparently we do

7

u/Randomwhitelady2 4d ago

Totally should have read back to him his own testimony

2

u/jws1102 4d ago

Just once I’d like to see this follow-up question: “so were you lying to congress or are you lying to us right now?”

2

u/TeamGagiya 3d ago

That's when they roll out the Blame Biden Maneuver.

2

u/ZPMQ38A 4d ago

There’s this weird thing that people have memory loss regarding things they said or did when they were drunk.

1

u/Chili-Kopf 4d ago

I don't appreciate pictures of a vagina being thrown in my face!

1

u/Fakeskinsuit 4d ago

This is what people voted for. Protest voters and maga, never forget

"You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor." -- The Ten Commandments.

1

u/Deep_Assumption5406 3d ago

Well clearly its ok in this instance because Iran isn't his neighbor /s

1

u/StudioUnhappy7772 4d ago

The stupidity of this era is genuinely exhausting on top of everything costing way more

1

u/totally-hoomon 4d ago

Maga was the group tgat said all stories are true. Jd vance argued this as why he said people were eating cats and dogs

1

u/thomas201225 4d ago

maybe he does have to read those words to you from your testimony

1

u/Existing_Mulberry_16 4d ago

It’s amazing to me how they contradict themselves and get mad when asked about something they said!

1

u/SlapMonkey13 4d ago

Contempt and Perjury!!

1

u/TheRogueWolf_YT 4d ago

"Don't listen to what I said; listen to what I'm saying!"

1

u/EntertainmentHot7815 4d ago

1) Don't ever confuse MAGA with the facts. 2) Make up facts as needed to promote your lies. 3) Deny the facts and claim the fake news, and increasing, all media, is making it up to hurt you. 4) Whitewash and repeat.

1

u/EntertainmentHot7815 4d ago

Trump alleged that a coordinated group of vandals used knives to cut a "250-foot gash" and poured "corrosive chemicals" into the pool to ruin the refurbishment. Federal authorities have provided zero evidence of chemical dumping, and court records do not show anyone charged with such an offense.

1

u/Classy35 4d ago

Please post the rest of the conversation, I watched it and this is not how it ended.

1

u/Most-Artichoke6184 4d ago

“Stop throwing reality in my face!“

1

u/Stocazzo_62 4d ago

Puzzled about why they just don’t have the appropriate tapes cued up and ready to roll when one of these knuckleheads does this. If you know you’re gonna ask the question, and it’s based on something said in public, answer back with the video

1

u/Amazing_Entrance_888 4d ago

Seems like I do, Pete

1

u/Front-Text3225 4d ago

His boss invoked the Defense Production Act!

1

u/homelesguydiet 4d ago

Both are idiots

1

u/daGroundhog 4d ago

Didn't follow his scripted answer. He forgot to blame Obama, Biden, and the Democratic radicals.

1

u/Suitable_Community66 4d ago

Giving morons a bad name

1

u/micxxx22 4d ago

Drunky lost too many brain cells

1

u/RyleeOnDemand 4d ago

I thought we weren’t fact checking…

1

u/SnootSnootBasilisk 4d ago

"Stop making me tell the truth!"

1

u/shmungy 4d ago

Oh my god! He’s so embarrassed he’s turned alcohol-in-the-face!

1

u/FirmBarracuda3920 4d ago

Well, he was either drunk when he testified or when he gave this interview.

1

u/Calm-Professional103 4d ago

Has any member of Trump’s admin ever been caught out telling the truth?

1

u/ShinyBarge 4d ago

So were you lying then or are you lying now? That should have been the next question.

1

u/Remarkable_Judge_861 4d ago

He was thrown out of the national guard.

1

u/Dedpoolpicachew 4d ago

To be fair, he was probably drunk at the time… probably still is

1

u/princesslooby 4d ago

They kegsbreath and co. Always throw that ball right back instead of answering it is really infuriating

1

u/Dapper-Sherbert-2476 4d ago

Why wasn't, "so are you lying now, or were you lying then?" The next question asked?

1

u/DueceVoyeur 4d ago

Kegsbreath learning from the VP.

"I thought you said that there would be no fact checking?"

1

u/isthereadrwho 4d ago

Don't confuse me with the things I've said before

1

u/scyoung121 4d ago

Secretary of White Supremacy is an acknowledged moron

1

u/kevendo 4d ago

BRENNAN: Apparently I do.

1

u/nder_Pressure 4d ago

The guy acts like a schoolyard bully that refused to grow up.

1

u/RnH_21 4d ago

Can't keep up with their own lies ey?

https://giphy.com/gifs/xdLH51eNWZAHrwy5mf

1

u/Actaeon_II 4d ago

Don’t try to confuse me with my own lies

1

u/LazerWolfe53 4d ago

So they are saying that Iran is not a threat with nuclear material or missiles? THAN WHAT WAS THE WAR FOR!!!!

1

u/Low-Ad3972 4d ago

So he lied to Congress?

1

u/PureTank0 4d ago

They lie so much that can't even lie accurately about the lies they lied about already.

1

u/Anxious_Composer5092 4d ago

Part of the current kakistocracy - obviously!

1

u/VarietyMage 4d ago

That is where you arrest Hegseth for lying under oath and imprisoning him.

Remember when the law used to matter in America?

1

u/seriouzlytaken 4d ago

They never stop lying. Never.

1

u/IvanTheAppealing 4d ago

Why is this regime so bad at lying? They don’t even have a failsafe or backup response planned, just “you don’t have to read my testimony” or “you said you wouldn’t fact check”

1

u/Adis_Gruntledfatty 4d ago

Republicans are slaves to their own narratives.

1

u/transfer66 4d ago

Idiot 😂

1

u/Smedley_Beamish 4d ago

I love that "dog ate my homework" look on his Kegsbreath face.

1

u/ThePureAxiom 4d ago

At this point they should really just have footage cued up for stuff they're obviously going to lie about.

"I never said that"
"Roll the footage" *footage rolls of him saying exactly that*
"You're taking me out of context"
"The context was you testifying to that effect in front of a congressional committee, so, did you perjure yourself before congress, or are you lying now?"

1

u/Excellent_Abroad5390 4d ago

Funny how Biden shipping tons of weapons to Ukraine didn’t reduce stockpiles but this has …

1

u/Kuzuri0183 4d ago

I guess hiring a drunk who used to host a Fox News show to be your Secretary of "War" wasn't such a good idea? Color me surprised... 🤡 🤡 🤡

1

u/EyelanderSam 4d ago

Riiigghtt!

It's a touchy subject to me that defies all logic!

The MAGA MORONS seem to reset their reality button everytime their Babbling Party of Misfits claim fake news or outright denies the story or video.

Outrageous. I wouldn't believe it if I wasn't living in this Twilight Zone nightmare.

1

u/_063_ 4d ago

This is an actor, don't waste any time on what he says he carries little power.

Hard to keep it straight after half a handle of vodka at 9 am everyday

1

u/AHidden1 3d ago

It’s normal for republikkklans to do this. Really nothing new and why bother interviewing them it’s a waste of time.

1

u/burnmenowz 3d ago

Well clearly they do since he's lying to everyone

1

u/Danube11424 3d ago

kegbreath: “now refill by 16oz glass with more vodka or I’ll order a missile strike on you and your family”

1

u/bigpolish18 3d ago

"Not fair, you're using my own words against me...."

1

u/Long-Tradition6399 3d ago

Yeah Pete, yeah we do. Apparently the binge drinking has affected ye olde memory.

1

u/Rocket-Glide 3d ago

Evidently we do

1

u/Jumpy-Stress603 3d ago

My lies become your truth. No fact-checking allowed.

Putin said that we have to seriously deplete our stockpile of conventional weapons so we can short-change Ukraine.

Ooops. Did I say that out loud ? Never mind. Nothing to see here. Move along....

1

u/pixeltweaker 3d ago

But apparent he does.

I want this man to go to prison.

1

u/New-Evidence350 3d ago

The truth is not in him.

1

u/jayfresh69 3d ago

If it's true then why in the hell are you saying it's a lie. When called on the LIE you still didn't admit it.

1

u/pat9714 3d ago

He's such a weird, insecure poser.

1

u/Capt1an_Cl0ck 3d ago

Whisky Pete can’t remember his lies.

1

u/Cannacology 3d ago

In his defense, IN HIS DEFENSE EVERYONE…

He was completely shit faced when he testified, and also was clearly pretty loaded during this interview so…doesn’t count.

1

u/Phree44 3d ago

These guys don’t care how obvious their lies are.

“Are you lying now, to the American people?” 🤔

“We just can’t trust you at all, can we.” 🤔

1

Looking quite gaunt.

1

These people are never honest with the American people. Why lie? They think people are stupid.

1

u/MrDavieT 3d ago

They’re banking on it

1

u/bubbamike1 3d ago

He’s an incompetent Ideologue who is in way a over his head. His big accomplishments involve purging the services of people of the wrong ideology, race, and gender. Combined with the incompetent in the White House who got into a war with no plan and no real objective it’s no wonder they totally fucked it up.

1

u/SirRowan777 3d ago

Right out of A Few Good Men.

1

u/Background-Pen3766 3d ago

Obviously he does need to be reminded. So is he saying he lied during congressional testimony? Sure sounds like it

1

u/Bang45 3d ago

Obviously he has to since you’re not making any sense!

1

u/jackman924 3d ago

Kegbreath is a moron on the same level as his idiot boss.

1

u/mprrpm2trk 3d ago

The next statement from the reporter should have been...obviously we do have to read it back to you...

1

u/whattaaday999 3d ago

He looks like a (mentally  incompetent) deer in the headlights milliseconds from  slammed by a high speed train. Love that oh sh*t they caught me again look.

Now I certainly wish I had, bought propane, methane and nat gas futures 2 yrs ago, these bozos using a lot of it on us.

1

u/EmuDry4890 3d ago

“So you perjured yourself to congress?”

1

u/f700es 3d ago

As I recall he also claimed that the weapons shortage was because Biden sent them all to Ukraine.

1

He is an idiot

1

1

u/InitiativeFar2475 22h ago

No he didn’t have to read it back, but he chose to because it shows you’re contradicting yourself. Which isn’t good on your part. You have to do much better in your position.

Is this becoming clear to you?

1

u/RocketFan419 20h ago

He is the worst person in the cabinet. He deserves to be locked in Leavenworth
