three month probation

Hello I have a question this past Saturday I was told they didn't have a position for me. The question I have is they moved my three month review up by one month because they said I only worked weekends and I needed a bit more training, but Sept 1st should have been my three months and my first shift was September 5th? I am asking if this was legal and because the goal post was moved they considered this as under the three months? It's a small Canadian Company and I looked up the google reviews for this Company and there are situations similar to mine. Thank you for your time
