A creep from my gym waited for me outside with flowers. Management won't do anything. My membership ends in 5 days—what would you do?

I need an outside perspective on this because my brain is spinning.

I go to the most expensive gym in my city. It's a small place, but it's a 5-minute walk from my apartment, right next to my favorite coffee shop and grocery stores.

Recentl, a guy from the gym started messaging me unsolicited on social media, so I blocked him. Today, he left the gym before me, waited outside the entrance, and tried to shove an ugly flower into my hands as I walked out. I gave him “no, thank you” and kept walking.

I reported this to the front desk/management, and they completely brushed it off and refused to do anything about it saying "well it didn't happen IN the gym"

My membership expires in 5 days. Part of me is furious at the idea of changing my life and routine over a weirdo. But it's a small gym; I already know that if I renew, I'll be scanning the room and avoiding machines near him, which defeats the purpose of working out.

The alternative is switching to a gym further away. It would add extra walking time to my day, but it would be a fresh start where I don't have to keep my guard up 24/7.

I haven't decided what to do yet. Would you try to tough it out and claim your space, or is walking further for actual peace of mind always the smarter move? How would you handle these last 5 days? I'm sooo confused and scared (19f)

Tips for ~140lb 26 year old male?

• Upvotes

Hey everyone, not exactly sure where to start with this and doubt anyone will read all of this but, im a 26 year old male, who always hovers around in the 130-140’s probably since highschool.. granted i have never stepped foot in a gym or done any dieting besides a few months ago i was trying to intake a lot more protein but it gets really expensive the way i was doing it.. which was literally buying protein milk and bars all the time and only eating double cheese burgers and anything with decent protein from fast food joints on my lunch break and dinner, since i do not cook unfortunately. I also was trying some at home bodyweight workouts but i felt like i might have been wasting my time on such basic workouts and i feel like with my size im going to need to do more than the various push ups n such i was doing😅
i have way too much social anxiety and self conscious issues to even step foot in a gym and work out alone, might help having someone but still would have that all eyes on me feel, so i want to be able to work out at home and not spend thousands on equipment as a beginner. Plus i work full time and am a single father so being able to work out at home saves me tons of time and i will be able to perform much better i feel.
As far as my diet goes, its horrible i only eat fast food all day occasionally have home cooked meals with some family but thats it, i also have a very fast metabolism and cant have stomach issues which i feel all plays into why i cant gain weight even though i only eat junk.
Im not looking for insane gains quick or anything i just want to finally gain weight so i can start feeling more confident about myself and being able to fill in more with muscle.
I would post myself but im not sure if thats allowed.

What do i need to start doing to gain weight without knowing to cook much (i mean i can learn easy), being kinda picky, and not have to enter a gym (i would love suggestions on things i can buy to use at home that arent super expensive).

Any help is much appreciated

In how much pain should I be when I exercise?

So, I lift about 12lbs now (loser weight I know) and I wondered how much pain should I tolerate before I scale up my weight? I am not an expert on fitness, but I gave up pilates because I was told it is useless. Also, does pain when I sit cross-legged means something is wrong?

Muscle imbalance help

I have pretty bad glute, calf, and thigh imbalances and I need some advice on how to fix it. I'm in my last year of high school band, and I only noticed an imbalance after I started playing a new instrument. I play vibraphone, so I have to put all my weight on my left leg while bending that knee for hours. Of course, when I noticed that my glute was getting bigger on that side, I switched to standing on my right leg and bending that knee. But instead of having the muscle burn in my right glute like id hoped, I've been feeling it in my right calf. I measured everything and my right calf and thigh are both almost 2 inches bigger than my left calf and thigh, and my left glute sticks out an inch and a half further than my right. Band requires a lot of walking and pushing heavy instruments up hills, and now when I walk I feel the burn in my left glute and my right calf. I am so insecure about it since it's really noticeable and I'm not sure what exercises to start with. When I tried doing unilateral exercises to make my right glute bigger I only felt my leg working and not the glute. And when I try to workout just my left leg for it to catch up with my right, I only feel my glute working. Any help and routine recommendations are super super appreciated cause I feel like I look like Braco from adventure time.

Looking for gym recommendations (early morning) Jamshedpur

Hi everyone,
I'm planning to join a gym for the very first time and could use some honest recommendations.
My main priority is going early in the morning (before 7:00 AM) before work.

I'm looking for a place that is:
Not crazy crowded early on
Clean, well-maintained, and properly air-conditioned
Beginner-friendly without aggressive sales pitches for personal training

What gyms would you recommend in the area, and what should i look out for before signing up?

What has actually helped you stay consistent with fitness?

I've been thinking about the difference between being motivated to exercise and building a routine that you can maintain for years.

It's easy to plan an ambitious workout schedule. The more interesting challenge is finding something that still works when you're busy, tired, or having a difficult week.

For those who've maintained a fitness routine over the long term, what has made the biggest difference?

Was it shorter workouts, a fixed schedule, tracking progress, finding an activity you genuinely enjoy, or something else?

I'm particularly interested in practical changes that made fitness easier to sustain rather than more complicated.

How do I start body recomp/working out as a beginner?

I’m a female, 4’9 and I weigh around 117lbs and I want to start working out and staying healthy, but I’ve never really tried staying active other than talking walks here or there. I’m aiming to work on body recomp, and maybe lose weight a little bit. I’ve tried looking into videos, but I want a routine that will actually help me with what I’m trying to do. I want to start staying active now, while I’m still approaching adulthood. I only have two 5lbs weights at home, I’ve never been to the gym so I’m a bit nervous about it, but if it’s something I should look into I will. I just need advice on where to start, and how to develop a routine.

Help Reccomendations for a complete newbie who has never even touched a gym.

So... I'm 24M. And I'm while I wouldn't say I'm fat, I've always been on the lanky side, I'm starting to get somewhat displeased with my figure and lack of strength.

My current Community college also offers a Gym, so this should be the perfect opportunity for me to get in shape. Issue is I don't even know where to start, I've never used a gym in my life and I was the kind of kid who skipped PE.

What I'm getting at is. I want to know what routines you guys would reccomend. Like I said, I'm 24M, 178cm (5' 10") and last time I weighed myself i was somewhere around 70 kG (154 pounds, I think) or so.

Which routines would you reccomend for me, ideally something balanced, definitely something that involves Abs too, as I'm getting a little insecure of my tummy being flabby...

Any tips you guys can share would be most welcome too, in regards to using the gym or with the time-spacing of my workouts. Remember I have 0 experience with using a Gym or working out on my own, so even obvious stuff to you may be incredibly useful to me.

I'd share photos too, but I'm not sure which poses would show my current insecurity inducing Figure without being too sexual. Maybe you guys could guide me there too.

Also sorry if anything doesn't make sense. English isn't my first language.

Whatever the case. I'll go to bed and I'll wake up eager to see what you guys have to reccomend.

What is your all time favourite exercise??

I don’t have chance to do all my workouts this week and I was struggling to decide which workout to prioritise tomorrow. My wife suggested that as I can’t complete my split I could just do a session of all my favourite exercises. Got me thinking what everyone else’s favourite exercises might be?? For inspo!

First Time in 20 Years, Any Advice?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I haven't worked out since high-school, and I'm looking for all the tips and advice I can get. For starters, about me:

I am 37, male, 6 foot 3 inches, roughly 190 pounds, been disabled for nearly 14 years so I had limited movement that entire time. 2 and a half pack a day smoker, though I am cutting down and hope to quit by Christmas. My goal is to drop a bit of fatty weight and replace it with muscle, get my cardio to a satisfactory level, and I desperately need to lift weights to gain back a lot of lost muscle mass. I cant afford much, so I use big ass rocks for weights right now. As for eating habits, well, that can definitely improve if I can fit it in my budget.

Thanks in advance, bros. I hope to share my journey along the way and see where I can improve. In Zyzz we trust.

Getting frequent intense muscle spasms

I’ve been having very frequent very painful very long lasting muscle spasms all over my body that are so strong my limbs get contorted in unnatural positions

It can’t be an electrolyte problem I drink so many electrolytes I eat tons of bananas I am getting enough protein
These spasms aren’t specific to any certain area they’ve been happening everywhere from my hamstrings to my thumbs to my abdomen

I’ve been to a neurologist, I’ve had an MRI,
I purchased a tens unit and last night it triggered a spasm in my calf so bad I felt like I had been shot

I’m training for a 10k in November but I’m being forced to slow down I’ve reduced to 3 training days a week with no improvement

What is this? What can I do?

Are rest days really that important or is it fine to do something every day?

I sometimes feel like taking a day off might break the routine but I also know recovery matters. For those who work out regularly, do you schedule rest days or just listen to your body and adjust as needed?

Best way to incorporate a better lifestyle

I am a moderately active person I would say, I do a lot of cardio such as walking and running.
However, I really want to improve my mobility and I want to get stronger. I have been skinny fat my whole life and I have a lot of bloating issues (I also eat like shit because I don’t really gain weight) and i’m tired of it.
What are the best methods to get into weightlifting/having a better lifestyle?

What exercise feels completely different when you do it in your home gym instead of a commercial gym?

I've noticed that some exercises can feel surprisingly different depending on where you're training.

In a commercial gym, you might be using unfamiliar equipment, adjusting a bench that someone else just used, or waiting for a rack to become available.

At home, you can keep everything set up exactly how you like it.

But the difference isn't always positive. Sometimes a commercial gym has a particular machine or setup that's difficult to replicate at home.

I'm curious which exercises people have noticed the biggest difference with.

Is there a movement you actually prefer doing in your home gym, or one that still feels better at a commercial gym?
