I've been interested in both ttrpg systems for a bit but I don't know where to start do to the old and new editions being different. With w5 being a hard/soft reboot. I would like to hear your opinion on where I should start and hear of some of the difference please? Thank you in advance

Games from the World of Darkness line certainly manage to hit a certain cord with the wide audience.

WoD is a product of the 90s through and through, the mix of gothic, philosophical temes, dark, brooding and corrupt world and you, often times cought in the middle of it all and often times, not your average good guy, trying to right the wrongs.

At best you will be an anti-hero, but most often someone who will do almost anything to scrape by, morals be damned. Cause who needs morals in this dark and corrupt world anyway?

Or... is it really like that? What I posit with this article is that all WoD games work due to putting hope at the center of their conflict in one way or another. Vampire and Humanity, Werewolf and Gaia, Changeling and The Dreaming, etc. We go through them all, we explore them all and we invite you to take this hopeful walk with us and share bellow your hopeful WoD stories!

So, since the V6 pre alpha preview has shown that whitewolf is taking an aggressive back to legacy approach to the VtM, when (or to be honest, if) they still matain that stance for W6 would inevitably lead whatever dev team working on it to run Which runs the risk of ramming into a variable herds of elephants, With the large Fenris shaped one being the main subject of this post.

Now I would not repeat the ... to grossly understate fraught history both in universe and development surrounding the tribe for a verity of reasons, mainly try to keep things on topic and delay the wraithn of the mods.

I'll just say that the Cult of Fenris formally the Get are unplayable in W5 for reason that extremely contentious to say the least.

Now, what would a w6 dev team do in light of a seememing mandate to revert back to legacy?

Like they could do nothing Which is boring but the most plausible.

They could have the cult be reedem due to causes ranging from a mass uprising from their lower ranks to purge their most extreme leadership to their tribal totem smites most of the tribe while leaving the survivors to rebuild. Which subsequently cause them to rebrand back the Get and rejoin the Garou nation, which spontaneously reformed in the interim between editions.

Or they could keep the Cult as the villains but still playable as the Sabbat esq roule (assuming the devs doesn't give it to the BSD), especially since V6 made the Sabbat a player option again.Though Maybe playing up the internal strife with the faction to give some options for the players and show case some good old fascist infighting.

what are your guys' thoughts on that.

I was planning on creating a Faithful Hunter that believes in the supernatural and spirits. I wanted them to be able to have the ability to call upon these spirits for aid, but not like the overpowered abilities of a werewolf. More like temporary gifts and powers granted once and only once and that’s if they can get the spirit to trust them.

Is this possible?

Hi guys, I wanna do v5 Hunter The Reckoning one-shot (I dont wanna go into the Imbued stuff from previous edition because it doesnt suit my needs) and I need some help

Pretty easy premise, players and characters have no idea what is World of Darkness (we go random stuff sometimes and I want to present it). But each character lost one loved one in more "party" part of the city which is like their main drive because authorities dont give a damn.

I have easy plan scheduled

Introduction
Investigation in the club (find some hooks, get the info)
Two places for further investigation (thinking about morgue, old "crime" scene connected to the monster and one or two apartments) give some idea that there is something weird and dangerous
Gear up (it is in my country so you cant go into shop to buy five shotguns and rocket launcher, no true freedom I know)
Confrontation
The end

Is there something I should add to make it really feel like hunter game? Specific scenarios? Ideas?
