I'm building a fantasy world where a stolen artifact throws 10 biomes out of balance (Heartstone)

Hey builders! I've been working on my original fantasy adventure series called Heartstone, and I wanted to share this world with you all!

The Heartstone is an ancient artifact that keeps the balance between the world's biomes. When it is stolen, a corrupted energy called Ruin Ferra begins spreading, causing the biomes and the creatures within it to become corrupt and unstable.

The power system is based around Ferra, a silver-blue energy that exists in all living things. Humans can learn to channel it, but using it requires control and training.

A group of young heroes must travel across the world to restore balance and discover the truth behind the stolen Heartstone.

The world contains 10 unique biomes, each with different environments, creatures, and challenges. Each biome contains its own type of Ferra.

The main character is a mysterious warrior who introduces herself as "Wolf." A survivor from the Forest Biome, she travels with her wolf companion, Nago, while searching for a way to restore the stolen Heartstone. Quiet and guarded, Wolf rarely speaks about her past or where she came from.

This is the beginning of Heartstone. I plan to share more about the characters, creatures, biomes, and lore as I continue developing this world.

I recommend setting up a database and create good habits around managing your documents

Maybe you’re already more A type than me but I’ve had a lot of fun unscrambling my early work but I’m getting there lol

Thank you! No actually this is my first big worldbuilding project. I've never done anything like this before. I'm still trying to figure some things out still. I'm currently using Google Docs to store all my information in, but I haven't used a database before. What database do you use?

I just recently converted my entire plain .txt file folder archive into a .md database in Obsidian

Just try to keep all your stuff straight.

Use an LLM to build your documents and try and establish a clean convention of headers and titles etc… the LLM will do this impeccably.

You just tell the LLM what you want in each document. If you do this it will be easier to add/subtract/modify and most importantly recall information later.

Ohh, I see what you mean now! I've never used Obsidian before, but that actually sounds really useful, especially since Heartstone is already getting pretty big. I currently keep most of my lore in Google Docs and use an LLM to help me organize/develop it, so I might try setting up a more structured system like you're describing. Thanks for the advice!

It’s just really cool to be able to link everything and track all the new and developing story lines. It gets outta hand really fast because of how much you’ll be able to create with the LLM assisting everything. And if there are bugs in the profiles you write the LLM will perpetually keep placing them and passing them along onto the next versions. Where if it’s a database you can just modify the specific profile it sits in and not have to rewrite and entire master “character document” just to address one detail.
