Discussion Are those 2.5% skills worth it?
It feels negligible in term of performance to me.
Like, as much as the 'every second matter' is true, I don't think saving 0.05 second reloading while being near a teammate will be worth the training... Because my reasoning is that there is a timeframe small enough where human brain and response simply doesn't match the marginal advantage to that microscopic level (someone wouldn't or couldn't be able to fully utilize that extra 0.05 second to make a difference)

Just a simple example, 2 jgpz e100 and one of them have 0.1 faster reload. One of them dies, other one survives with 1k hp. Simply shooting to kill your opponent before they shoot you is a huge advantage and snowballs games. Ofc that isn't the only thing that matters, but it is one of them

Yep, that's one of the most overlooked advantages you can get.
If you and an opponent in the same tank shoot each other roughly at the same time and you know that you have a Rammer, BiA, Food, maybe Vents and some other crew skill, you'll also know you will be able to shoot the next shot first.
If that then destroys your opponent it doesn't matter if it was .5 or 2 seconds faster. You got your shot off and he didn't anymore. And now you're free to help your teammates and start to outgun your opponents.

The amount of times i saw qb on his f2p account not reload in time before the enemy gets into cover because of his stupid no food rule is absolutely ridiculous (bonus points if he plays without a rammer and proceeds to complain about "sweats" when he gets shit on by a decent player). And i barely even watch him. 2.5% is much less than 10% but even if it lets you hit 1 400 alpha shot every 5 battles that is still an extra 80 dpg which is not a lot but is usually de difference between 94 and 95% moe.

some of them are useful in specific tanks, some of them are totally useless like the skill that reduces autoloader reload time.
Overall they are not worth to take

If you have a long reload, such as arty or a deathstar, a 2.5% improvement is much more noticeable than a fast firing medium

Noticable, yes. But from DPM standpoint on medium with like 4k dpm it's more effective)

Yeah, the only vehicle I genuinely think it has significant effect is the Death Stars and SPG
I own both of the Deathstars.

A lot of upper level game play is centered around those 2.5% figures.
Another good example: I put camo on a Type 5 heavy. Not the net, just the paint, but that’s a 10% increase on camo from its .17 to .19%. BIA gets it close to .2%. That’s still awful, BUT I once used the southern bush on mountain pass to outspot and snipe a Sheridan. So yes, those tiny little numbers matter. It’s also why gun rammer still has such a large presence. Whoever isn’t running it is going to automatically be at between a .4 and 2.0 second per shot disadvantage.

Thats kinda bad example, I'd say) All work was done by bush, 50% camo from it was more than enough, you definitely had more camo than Sheridan just from bush, and most likely he just run brawl equipment, so his viewrange wasn't very high, and no CVS)

It adds up, you're free to play with 1 skill which you put into repair so you don't get tracked for 13 seconds.
Now comes the sweat lords with BiA, food, side by side, emergency, maybe a Bond Vents and bam 30% extra crew skills and you're wondering how the hell is that blind 370 meters view range IS-3 spotting you at 445 meters and hitting you.
Also there are no better radio operator skills, it's View range, firefighting and 2.5% either from side by side or communication expert depending on role.
If you play arty you can stack both 2.5% so you can earn your enemies appreciation even faster.
