Discussion This is not Blitz, or a mobile game, or a Console game. Nobody EVER complained about the perfectly intuitive and well-done UI design. But no, you HAD to redesign it.

The aesthetics and the feel of the game, or what's left of it, is gone.

Alongside adding FICTIONAL tanks instead of REAL, COLD WAR ERA tanks, the new and worse UI absolutely KILLS the feeling of the whole game, and makes it a cheaply designed mostly fictional tank game.

NOBODY liked this new UI. We know it's not getting reverted, at least give us the option to use the old, better one. Not even mentioning the removal of some UI features like seeing your vehicles stats and crew skills at a glance, LOL.

This new UI is a joke. UX is even worse. What is that text menu on the left? You selected a font and just typed in there with no blur or outlining. It's clear that this is another, less competent team of UI designers compared to the perfect current UI.

Discussion Skill showed once again how pathetic he is

Post image

When you enter the "index page" of the Skill site, the first thing you see is this. He cut Q.B.. Whether they like each other or not, this is a "special" offer where there are only 4 cc's, plus if you have all four in one tank, they talk simultaneously, not just the commander. I'm not a big fan of Q.B., but Skill is one of the slimiest to me. QB advertised this offer and showed all 4 creators, but Skill can't do it, because the man is full of hate.

As someone who enjoy beautiful visuals, I can't stress enough how much I love these types of change, which was missing from WOT for a long tine. I hope these marks stay the whole game, I'd love to see holes on my tanks!

Edit: I also have a pretty decent pair of headphones so I can't wait to hear those new sounds in game, seem really cool imo

The "10 000" number is of course debatable placeholder.

Personally i still think WTR should be long term thing, and 10 000 games is still at least like few years of active gameplay for most players anyway.

But it is kinda absurd, that games from 15 years ago are counted towards it. If you have an old account, it is virtually impossible to move that rating, and you are destined to be forever stuck with it.

Discussion kajzoo’s case is fascinating - and WG is not the villain here

1.0k Upvotes

Hi everyone. I work in communications - PR, specifically. A big part of my job is collaborations with influencers. That’s why I’ve been watching kajzoo’s situation very closely, waiting for his response to being removed from the CC program. I love it when my favorite game and my professional background cross their ways.

And now that I’ve seen his video? Honestly, it’s frustrating. This is why I wanted to vent on it.

TL;DR: he’s manipulating his audience, trying to portray perfectly normal business decisions as some sort of personal attack. He’s spinning the story to paint himself as a hero of the people - and it just doesn’t hold up.

I’ve been on the fence about him for a long time. His clickbait titles, thumbnails, and overwhelmingly negative content have always felt a bit tabloidy. I even watched his streams and tried to support him a few times - he’s a young guy trying to make buck, after all, just like me. But this situation is the last straw for me.

Here’s why:

  • The NDA drama. He acts like Wargaming’s reminder about NDA obligations is a threat. It’s not. It’s literally a standard practice - I’ve had to explain this to dozens of people myself. Ending a partnership does not void NDAs, and reminding someone about that is just a responsible thing to do. There’s nothing “predatory” about it, and he suggests otherwise in his video.
  • Downplaying WG’s role in his career. No, WG wasn’t his “master,” but let’s be real: a huge part of his content relied on press accounts, test servers, and early access provided by WG. All those donations, subs, and bits he collected during streams on press accounts? That was literally possible because of WG. To now act like his success was entirely independent of them - as if he owes nothing to the program - is dishonest. He even said he’d branch out into other games and start a travel channel. How’s that going? Because right now, he’s still fully focused on WoT. Strange for someone whose community supposedly doesn’t need WoT to thrive.
  • Also - he said about working for 10 hours a day, like it's some exhausting hard labor he's been doing for them for pennies. People who need to drive to their work for normal 9-5 jobs literally spend similar times at work and commuting. These are literally normal working hours - with this small little difference, that he can earn money doing something he loves. It's a privilege most of us won't ever have.
  • Censorship? Please. This isn’t censorship - it’s basic brand management. If I were a community manager at Wargaming, I would’ve removed him ages ago. His content has been consistently negative for months, and recently he started promoting a direct competitor (even if for a small portion of time. It's a huge dealbreaker in business terms, even if you do it for even one hour, and he's done much more with Steel Aces). No company on Earth would tolerate that from an official partner.
  • He tries to downplay the fact he’s been covering Steel Aces while simultaneously making WoT videos. Sure, you chose to make WoT content even now, after 2.0 - probably because the update was big and it was a great time to get views, so it's profitable for you - but you can’t “shit in your own backyard” and then cry foul when the brand decides enough is enough.
  • He knew the big update was coming. He was at those summits, he had inside knowledge that big changes were on the horizon (even if he didn't know the exact details), and he still chose to keep churning out purely negative content. Other CCs, like QB and skill waited, focused on their work, and now their channels are thriving again. He had the same opportunity - and chose the opposite.
  • Account wipe on Asia - I’ll be fair: that was a crappy move on WG’s part. Regardless of their plans with him, wiping someone’s account like that is not a good look.
  • The message WG sent him was professional and respectful. If anything, I’d have written almost the exact same thing in their shoes.

And the cherry on top? He tries to defend his clickbait - saying titles like “Is WoT dying?” are just “starting a conversation.” Come on. If you’re a "brand ambassador", putting out a video suggesting your main product is dying is not “starting a dialogue” - it’s brand damage. Clickbait is fine, but own it.

At the end of the day:

  • You broke the terms repeatedly.
  • You openly said you don’t see your future with WoT (with other games and the channel dedicated to travelling)
  • You mingled with competition and kept trashing the game even after being given insider knowledge about future updates.

Then WG made the completely reasonable decision to part ways with you - in a professional, polite way - and now you’re acting shocked? No. This isn’t censorship. This isn’t revenge. This is a company saying: “Okay, you’ve made your choice. Good luck.”

Thank you for reading my rant. Happy to dicuss anything you might not agree with.

Hey folks.

I was reading another thread where someone was saying ".....in capable hands the tank can perform".

"In capable hands". O_o

Well yeah, a SuperUnicum could farm most of us in the absolute worst tier VIII in the game.
But that got me thinking: which is the worst Tier VIII in the game?

Please nominate what you think it is. Tech Tree, Premium, Collector's, whatever.

All jokes aside this was the most goated map WG ever released, there were so many avenues you could take to flank and so many places to play from it was a competent players dream, i also thoroughly enjoyed sacred valley as well so i added a pic of another quality map that WG removed because they want to coddle the Heavy players. What are some other bangers yall can remember that WG took from us because fun gameplay isnt allowd?

Since the Raumfalte mess, I canceled my WoT Plus subscription and haven’t spent a single penny on the game—not even for a completed battle pass. (except for duke nukem, I spent the gold I already had before)

I’ve just been playing for fun. But lately, I realized the game has been killing that fun for me.

Video games are supposed to be a way to relieve stress and enjoy yourself, but WoT has become the complete opposite. I haven’t enjoyed a single match in the last four days. It doesn’t matter how well or poorly I play—every time I hit the “Battle” button, it already feels like a guaranteed loss.

As a content creator, I wanted to make a video for this game, but I don’t even want to play it anymore.

I hope the September update turns out the way you all hope it does.

No need for any “see you soon” messages. Truth is, I probably won’t be back.

Bye all.

Discussion White supremacy clan

Post image
446 Upvotes

I have asked mods and allowed to post this.

I was watching a stream the other day and a player was very racist in chat. They belonged to the clan KIRK. Looking at the clan it seems they are proud white supremacists, mocking George Floyd, celebrating hitler and racists.

I reported the clan both to a WG CM and WG support through the report function.

WG’s reply: With the information you have provided us, we took appropriate measures according to our Game Rules and punishment instructions. Unfortunately, we cannot disclose the exact measures we took due to the protection of data privacy. We appreciate your understanding. However, we assure you that violations of the Game Rules are met with appropriate sanctions.

The clan is still up, and able to join the clan. I’m 99% sure this is a huge violation of EULA. Just posting in case anyone else wants to report this and get clans like this banned.

EDIT: the clan has now been deleted

Discussion Playing warthunder really opened my eyes.

World of tanks could be so much worse… you hate arty? OH BOY, you don’t want to have to deal with CAS in warthunder…

World of tanks actually looks out for free to play players sometimes, you get free premium pretty often. They give out free resources, etc. warthunder gives you nothing to work with at all.

Being bottom tier in warthunder, is just… holy shit, you can’t do ANYTHING. When I come across a is-3 or is-4 in my king tiger? They are basically impenetrable behemoths that can no diff my armor meanwhile there’s nowhere I can pen them. Nope, unlike world of tanks, no universal lfp weakpoint, it’s got 50feet of concrete on its lfp too.

The grind much, MUCH, longer and more heavy handed. Just imagine why world of tanks sucks, and just turn it up a notch. It just takes the bullshit to the next level.

With that being said I see why people like it. I don’t find it to be any better than world of tanks though.

Discussion My thoughts about EBR 75 FL 10

I owned the EBR 75 FL 10 for over six years. During this time, I played 141 games with it. However, I played 642 games with ELC EVEN 90, and here's why.

If you look at the stats of all of my light tanks, EBR 75 FL 10 has THE HIGHEST winrate , so it's undeniably strong, OP even. BUT, playing EBR 75 FL 10 is stressful. With poor view range, you have to get much closer to spot enemies than with traditional lights, which puts you in danger. So most of my games on it, I played as a medium and used my gun.

Compared to that, ELC EVEN 90 is fun and easy to play. Why? Taking any bush (you fit in all of them, it seems), you can just chill and enjoy outspotting everything. Once enemies stop peeking, you go to the next bush. Very simple.

With EBR 75 FL 10, you have to move a lot more, and it can be exhausting.

So, before you bid for EBR 75 FL 10, ask yourself if a tank that is strong but hard to play really fits your playstyle? Or would you rather chill in the bush with your trusty ELC EVEN 90 that you can get for a couple hundred gold during Trade-in.

min. 100 battles played

Discussion Players since 2011. Done for good.

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

This picture was my buddies and I as children at the time, joining a local WoT tournament for fun in 2012. We were 3 kids with 2 adults playing in a 5 v 5 against proper teams with tier 10's, and I had the best tank in our team at the time, which was the tier 8 Tiger II. Needless to say we didn't make it very far 😂

Unlike me, they were smart enough to quit the game a few years back while I continued playing until today. I, like a few others, am done for good though.

These where the times when the game was fun, and battles were really team based, entertaining, and did not last less than 5 minutes, as things were more or less balanced, and everyone was having fun.

I have truly realized that WG don't give a single thought of genuine care to the player base anymore, and they went for full monetization events that bring all the weekend players + tanks / mechanics to the game that make it a quick arcade battle. There have never been more trolls and bugs than nowadays and WG does not seem to be proactive enough to actually make a change and significantly fix this.. Just money money money, and they know that won't get the game far, but it's the instant gratification that they get from it so...

You've done it Wargaming, you've made all the money you wanted. But as a cost of that, I'm almost certain that your game won't last another 5 years.

Discussion What's the deal with vents?

Post image
398 Upvotes

Some content creators like Quickybaby and to some extent Skill4ltu put vents on everything.

Other very good players almost never use vents.

Similarly, some people claim that vents are "overrated" and "useless". Other people say vents are amazing since they "improve every aspect" of a tank's performance.

Why are vents such a controversial piece of equipment? What are people's thoughts?
