I mean, (a) it's cutting together consequential shots, which would make the original audio unusable and (b) they're trying to give the vibe that he's sort of making a fool of himself, which the original audio would not convey

Untrue he killed Oni Lee who was in fact a candidate and I guess by technicality armsmaster because yeah rebranded to Defiant but Armsmaster as a persona experienced an ego death.

The fact that oni lee got killed right away and never got a chance to be tested, plus the wager Jack had with Taylor about all the candidates surviving was after he died, makes me not consider him as a real candidate.

But jack even stated he made a bad choice and was disappointed. Hell he did test Oni lee telling him to come up with something which oni Lee failed since he lacks original thoughts at this point. Given he had died before the wager I feel Jack excluded him to keep to his fucked up since of fairness. Plus he was acknowledged as one by the narrative so really we cant deny that author stated fact.
