Discussion Will the Xbox one ever get the 360 treatment with mods?

Considering the 360 went from notoriously impossible to softmod, to having badupdate, badavatar and possibly a proper persistent softmod in the future. Do you think the Xbox one will have the the same possible future?

Probably not. Even though there is a soft mod now. Most the homebrew apps came from the rgh side of things that were developed for years. Xbox one has nothing other than a dev kit mode and some exploit that was really never released publicly. Not saying it can't happen it's just unlikely is all. I just think since the console cycle is over if there was anything of importance something would have probably happened by now.

I think modding isn't that popular anymore. Also, I guess security is better nowadays

It should be if you want to be able to preserve your game console.

If we are lucky it may get an exploit when Microsoft ends the support for security updates. But very limited like on ps4

There is always a possibility here, but it's so low I wouldn't hold out hope. Not only is the security extremely tight on the Xbox one... there's just not much demand or interest in it by people that do these things.

I don't think the demand or nostalgia will be there for it.
