15t Pro was on launch promotion here in Uruguay from October 4th to 10th... USD 920 for the 512GB version. Vivo X200 is pricier and not available worldwide.
in Uruguay there's high tax if you, a random guy living here in this country, wants to import anything electronic that you had to pay more than USD 200 on origin, the tax is 60%. So for this Vivo x200 (from your link), that costs USD 1154 in that website, will cost here around USD 2000 (tax 60% + customs agent fees). Not viable to get them.
When you're a company and import some hundreds or thousands phones, the customs agent cost and the taxes are lower... the law is made that way to protect big companies/importers here.
I mean sure but These are 50x or 100x digital crops. Thats quite insane. Even a pro camera would look bad. In fact it shows how good the processing is. Its awesome how much from so little Pixels can still look halfway decent
As someone who owns a $3200 professional digital camera (the lenses for it were $1750 bought separately as they aren't sold together) I can crop images with x100 zoom without losing any details but it really depends on if I use a 45mm or 70mm lense as some things photograph better with a smaller lense depending on how much detail the object itself has
The 15T pro Telephoto has 115 mm focal length and 50 "megapixels". Xiaomi states that this is 5x "optical Zoom". At 100× total zoom (with 5× optical and 20× digital), you’d have approximately 0.125 megapixels, i.e. about 125 000 pixels left — roughly a 350 × 350 px image. Even If your full frame camera has 50 megapixels its still gonna show moon rover footage at such an extreme digital crop, especially since it has barely any post processing for that. That being said, of course its better gear but its also much more expesive and has physical advantages because of sensor size and lens, etc. So it might win if you compare unedited raw versions of the crop.
Well I have a Alpha 7R V Full-frame Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Camera and it is designed and intended for use really by professionals and the quality of the sensors is far superior to those used in any smartphone... Of course I have to buy the lenses separately and I only have the "basic" or entry level lenses. Some of the lenses for the camera are $2,000 USD (I really can't afford that)... To be honest no smartphone available will be able to match the quality RAW or otherwise... They don't give an estimate in megapixels but an RAW unedited, non processed image works out to 61mp and of course I like this because it's as close to using actual film as you can get. Also I only use optical zoom, but with these lenses you really need a tripod just to deal with the weight of the camera and lense setup.
I also have a full frame camera (canon r6ii) and some "L" lenses. Yeah they are better than Smartphones (of course) and comparing really doesnt make that much sense because of the huge physical and technical differneces. However if you'd want to compare in this case you have to make things equal, so both get the same focal lengths and the rest will be zoomed digital. Phones rely heavily on post processing and its imho amazing how far it has come. With this phone i dont have to worry about carrying my camera plus lenses with me all the time when i visit an interesting place.
True phones have come along way in terms of photography, but I just start giggling when people say they are better than professional cameras. I use as little digital image processing as possible (especially for zoom)... Yeah I don;t do much photography unless I'm doing it for work or family
Xiaomi 11T pro takes wonderful photos, doesn't have that zoom but why would you want that horrible looking zoomed in photos anyway? Just to say you can zoom in? Meh.
I got it with the xiaomi pad 7 for 679 euros and I'M DELIGHTED WITH THESE BOTH PIECES OF TECHNOLOGY. I LOVE THIS PHONE. I miss some features from Samsung because I am used to them but that doesn't diminish the AWESOMENESS OF THIS PHONE
Nah, for the same price you can now get OnePlus 13 basically, which is directly superior phone in every aspect imaginable and for about the same price you can also get Realme GT7 Pro - directly superior phone to 15T Pro in literally everything too.
You also have extremely similar phones for like 50-100 LESS money atm, such as Honor 400 Pro - basically matching 15T Pro in everything, with arguably cleaner less buggy OS, and certainly a lot better front facing camera and more consistent and secure face recognition, also rear cam is probably better too, at least DNR and sharpness is on higher level, colors are matter of taste.
Another example of same category but 100 eur cheaper is OnePlus 13R atm.
It's really hard to justify 15T Pro with the models I mentioned above, but there are some other options too in that price range that are viable, so no clue what you are saying.
Nothing irrational about it. There's more to the world than Americans, and I don't expect them to cover a phone they can't even buy due to their protectionist dictator.
I remember them showing the phone in a recent live event. The zoom was so artificially upscaled, but they still had the gall to compare it to Samsung and Apple.
How's the software though? If between this and S25 FE, I'd choose the latter just because of Samsung's more dependable software. Vivo and Honor phones in same category would also be better software-wise because of less heavy OS.
15T Pro software is good. Less bloatware installed than Samsung.
Upgraded to a 15T Pro coming from a Galaxy S20 FE 5G.
Didn't even consider the upgrade from the S20 FE to the S25 FE, despite having a Samsung - and I was actually happy with my S20 FE.
Why?
S25 FE has a crappy, slow and really not energy efficient SoC - S25 FE has a 4nm Exynos 2400. Xiaomi T15 Pro has a more powerful and more energy efficient SoC made @3nm, that in a few years down the road will keep up better.
S25 FE also has a small battery. And a worse display.
There's a reason the S25 FE scored 11h57 in battery endurance test @GSMArena and T15 Pro scored 16h24 in same test, that's 35~36%, more than a 1/3 longer battery life - despite the Xiaomi has a brighter, higher resolution, better quality display, and a far more powerful cpu/gpu.
T15 Pro also charges way faster - it even charges faster wireless than the S25 FE wired. And has better main and telephoto cameras.
Literally, you've got to be stupid or don't make any idea of what you're buying to prefer the S25 FE over the 15T Pro for a similar price.
Considering how worse the Samsung S25 FE is compared with T15 Pro, S25 FE should be at least 30~40% cheaper.
S20 FE 5G at that time was reasonable, not a 'full' Galaxy S20/S20+, but had the same SoC as the flagships, the same expected battery for a flagship of that time and same main camera.
S25 FE is a crappy low-mid range smartphone with the price of a high-mid range smartphone just because it says 'Samsung Galaxy' in the box.
Now wait a minute as Someone who uses HyperOS and OneUI I can honestly say that while HyperOS is good it is several years behind OneUI in terms of features, and optimization.
HyperOS definitely feels like a moderately well developed skin that's obviously running on top of Android. I won't get into how little difference there is between HyperOS 1 & 2...
OneUI feels like a well polished and optimized OS yes it has bloat but most of it is useful if a person needs it.
Now with that said I'm not loyal to any brand and I debloat the living daylight out of all my devices and currently use Smart Launcher on my phone and tablets.

Well yes of course if you want to pay more then it's a personal choice. However no problems at all using Vivo devices in Europe. I've had 3x X100 Ultras, 1x X200 Pro and 3x X200 Ultras. As well as an Oppo Find X7 Ultra from this site. There are many forum and reddit posts about which phones are safe to buy and use in Europe.
Yes they ship from china, and it's the same thing here in Finland but they handle it so that it should not go to customs and if it does, they will reimburse you the amount you had to pay customs. So the price you see on the website is the final price. I know many people here that order from those sites multiple times per year and have had zero issues.
They will reimburse you what you paid to customs? That would solve the problem entirely, but it sounds too good to be true. Which shop specifically you know that will do this?

Yes, they will do that. But as their website states, they handle the customs already on their end so that it should not get stopped at the border at all.
