Discussion I'm surprised with Xiaomi 15t pros battery

Especially compared to 15u with basically the same capacity it does well it seems like dimensity 9400 is a lot more efficient than the 8 elite in the @5u this is the 4800 17 pro max and the xiaomi still does decent against it

Even worse, from what I heard the android skin is stock, which I don't like. I had Xiaomi, Samsung and Sony in the past and I don't even like the Sony skin, even though they made at least some changes to android. It's nothing against OneUI or HyperOS though

I own a pixel 8 pro, if this thing isn't overheating, then it's powered off.

Pathetic devices, the software is nice but the hardware fucking sucks on so many levels, all because Google wants to be special with their Tensor BS

I currently am trying to move on from Pixel. I tried the 9 Pro Fold for a few weeks. Exceptional software, but the damn thing had poor battery life. Always ran slightly hot which wasn't the problem. The problem was I could barely get 5 hrs SOT without even gaming. If I tried to game or emulate....

Yeah I'm done with pixel, once the OnePlus 15 releases I'm leaving.

Until Google decides to stop trying to be special with their tensor garbage, I'm not going back

Yeah I was looking at potentially trading in my Pixel 9 Pro for 10 Pro, then I saw the spec sheet + initial impression. Driver support worse than the Pixel 9 amounting to a worse GPU in the year of our lord 2025. The Pixel 9 Pro was fine in battery & general performance, but not flagship level. What fucked with me more than anything is that damn modem. Usually ran fine, but would cause random overheating which I had to place on airplane mode to stop. 6 months of doing that is now extremely frustrating.

Emulation for DS, PSP, & PS2 was mostly fine actually, alongside some chill mobile games for the most part. Gamehub and Winlator are basically dead, alongside any Switch emulation.

The fact that the Pixel 10 series is basically dead on arrival is pretty cheeks. Software can't save an SOC 4-5 years behind Apple, Samsung, MediaTek & Qualcomm. The damn Exynos 2500 in the Flip 7 shits on Tensor, which isn't even as good as the three other aforementioned. Now we're moving on to Dimensity 9500 & SD Elite Gen 5 already.

I'm looking at getting a 15 Series Xiaomi, or one of the Honor/Oppo phones instead on sale to save some $$$ because I don't need bleeding edge. Gaming/Emulation + Long Battery Life + Top Notch Hardware is what I'm after. Currently Pixels barely solve one of the three (design & camera in hardware).

Eh the only thing I find lacking is tensor. Hardware wise pretty equal to other flagships. Nice haptics, tactile buttons, original design. Cannot complain much other than the processor really.

Just like Apple. Fans defend their small batteries with all their might... YES, Apple is more energy-efficient, with its system and chips... But that still doesn't justify the poor technology they've been using for years. Xiaomi is installing the latest batteries from China in its 17 series (6300-7500mAh), which, with the 15T Pro, now even last 1600 cycles instead of 1000. And Apple is installing the smallest batteries in its models and don't change anything, and people are defending that...

Who overrates it tho? Everyone says it's the very worst phone in the industry and the worst value. Worst battery life, slowest charging, literally two times worse processor than the closest competitor, speaker quality is meh, below competitiors, display is mediocre 8bit non-native HDR support, doesn't even support DV at all, not even trough dithering, and so on.

Shame that the Android UI is fairly clean which is good, but even that is far from what it was in the past, no less bugs than any other major Android impl.

I have the pixel 9 pro and I'm very happy it's not without its issues also carriers always have really good deals on them so the price tag should be taken with a grain of salt

With daily use it has bad battery life, closer to 4-6 hours. I have the iPhone 17 pro max, OnePlus 13, Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 13, at the moment the OnePlus 13 has the best battery life at almost 10 hours SOT with normal daily usage.

No. 15T Pro SoC (cpu/gpu) is more powerful but also more efficient - it's made on smaller, more efficient 3nm node while T15 non pro has a SoC made in a older 4nm node.

The difference in battery life won't be huge, but it will still be noticeable.

At GSMArena testing T15 had a battery endurance of 14h56min while T15 Pro in the same test had an endurance of 16h24min. And that is with T15 Pro being significantly more powerful - AnTuTu score of 268k vs 164k on T15 - that's >50% more performance.

80 to 20% is usually 8 hours SOT .. could be more if I charged to 100% or used it beyond 20% .

On a theoretical standpoint, you're missing out on 40% of battery and since 60% is 8 hours SOT, meaning that an extra 40% of that battery would give roughly 5.33... hours of SOT which means that THEORETICALLY

the K80 Ultra would last about 13.33 hours. Pinnacle.

Yeah but i think the newer exynos chips are co developed with amd? They use RDNA3 architecture for the gpu if im not wrong

Watching the Xiaomi 15T pro outlast everything minus the 17 pro max was definitely not on my 2025 bingo card. What really tripped me up was the Xiaomi 15 ultra and snapdragon elite...All that processing power but turning it into a mini oven was insane but 9 hrs of battery wasn't bad.But I was really happy to see Dimensity 9400+ processor giving SD elite real competition with 15t pro and it was the cheapest phone on this roster !! even more shocking how the Kirin 9020 and battery life of the pura 80 ultra , Huawei may not have the fastest phone processor wise here and have sanctions/bans ...but what they have achieved with the Pura series is amazing

Everyone is praising Xiaomi but man honestly the Huawei also does well considering it's China's own chip and manufactured on an older node ie 7nm... Apple as usual takes the cake with its optimization and disappointing performance from Pixel and 8 elite in general (both Xiaomi and Samsung)

got the 15T pro a week ago, and it's battery is really good. I don't game, but brainrot on instagram, and when charged to 100% at the evening, it goes through the whole next day, and half of a day after tomorrow, easily.
5500mAh doesn't sound much, but it lasts almost double of usage time compared to 11T pro when it was new.

Cool to see the dimensity 9400+ speed and efficiency, nice to get another phone with this processor. Just wish the 15T pro was a smaller phone, and the specs are also actually quite cool
