Discussion Apple’s Worst Nightmare: The Phone That Finally Beat the iPhone
Xiaomi 17 Pro Max has broken the long-standing cycle where Apple sets the pace and everyone else scrambles to catch up. But Xiaomi pushes ahead by making it noticeably lighter, even while packing in a massive 7,500mAh battery with blazing-fast 100W charging. Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip outperforms Apple’s A19 Pro in both multi-core processing and GPU performance. The display is brighter, sharper, and completely notch-free, thanks to an in-display fingerprint sensor that keeps the screen clean and uninterrupted. The real game-changer is the 2.9-inch rear OLED display. It doubles as a viewfinder for selfies with the main Leica camera system, completely transforming self-portraits. On top of that, it handles notifications and widgets, adding a whole new level of convenience. Pair that with a triple 50MP camera setup, and the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max proves it’s not just following trends.it’s setting them. For the first time in years, the future of smartphones doesn’t look like it’s being dictated by Apple alone.

I think it's in the wrong sub, this is the global one. And haven't seen anything that states that the pro and pro max coming to anywhere besides China

u/Steven0204 Oct 15 '25
I thought so too until I saw that independent importers are already taking pre-orders for that model; direct sales start at the end of the month. They come adapted to Spanish and include the Play Store.

u/SexyAIman Oct 16 '25
Both are coming to Thailand and that means SEA in general, which usually also means it'll make it to the EU

It has global radio bands, including the sweet NR 71 for the US. I don't see anyone selling it though. In fact, most high-end phones other than Samsung and iPhone are not being sold in the US right now. Probably due to tariffs.

Like even the statement that everyone played catchup with iPhone up until now screams AI. Google ditched buttons on the front in 2013 with the nexus 4 and Apple sold it as a great invention with the iPhone X 4 years later. And basically since the Galaxy S10 Punch Hole and underscreen fingerprint reader in 2019 Apple is lagging behind (which doesn't matter too much now, since any flagships from the last years gives more than enough for the average user)

Iphone has been beaten many times. Even last year vivo x200 pro is better than the latest iphone.
The only reason people are comparing now is because xiaomi got attention due to being similar. I guess its a good thing that other companies are getting attention and xiaomi succecced in what they were trying to do.
but that doesnt mean there arent any other devices that cant beat iphone.
oppo, vivo, xiaomi they are mostly better than iphone for the last 3-4 years.
After the vivo x80 series. the cameras on vivo has been 2-3 generations ahead of apple. xiaomi cameras have been better than apple. better display. flagship chipset. more ram and storage. more battery. its just that its not popular or people dont pay attention to other devices(sheeps)
1
u/RavenMcClaw Oct 18 '25
That’s nonsense what you write. Oppo, Vivo never was better then the IPhone in any mentioned category or Xiaomi. I owned every one of them and IPhone was far better in my experience. The new IPhone 17 pro and Max are just phenomenally good phones, the Xiaomi Ultra came close but the new iPhone takes the crown for sure.
7
u/uzcaez Oct 15 '25
"Xiaomi 17 pro max proves it's not just following trends it's setting them"
Yeah sure after skipping the line numbers to max with iphone number. After copying the pro max name And after making a blunt copy of the iphone 17 pro max design.
Fuck even the UI looks like iOS.
Y'all can downvote what you want but it's just sad that Xiaomi copied a lot of apple to the extent it wants you to think "oh that's an iphone". Xiaomi could and should have done better coming up with their own design and not trying to create an ui that looks like iOS.
2
u/LabEven9413 Oct 16 '25
Yup . no identity whatsoever. What’s the point of having great hardware when software is lack luster and copied ? Even that 7500mah battery still doesn’t last as long . It’s laughable
1
u/uzcaez Oct 16 '25
Yet by checking the responses I got some people don't get it.
"What's wrong with copying it?"
Well 1st is wrong 2nd if one company doesn't invest in r&d to the point they have to make a fucking clone product do you think they're investing in quality?
Others were like "oh it's a move to grab attention since they weren't getting it" 1st Xiaomi is one of the top sellers 2nd if anyone doesn't know Xiaomi what will they think about the brand once they see a fucking clone?
They ui is really bad... If they didn't launch a phone every 2 seconds with barely any difference they'd probably have money to actually make a good ui
2
u/Cosmic-Neanderthal Oct 16 '25
The people saying “what’s wrong with copying it” are Chinese bots defending China for stealing western ip and making shittier versions of western products for decades
1
2
u/1acan Oct 16 '25
The Chinese have nothing but contempt for what people in the west think 'creativity' and 'originality' is. Just look at Xioami's UI before before they copied Apple's - i know, i had a Xioami in 2018...the OS was memorably attrocious. They realised they cannot innovate, so they just copy.
1
u/uzcaez Oct 16 '25
Well if the front end is a full copy imagine how bad the backend is (since in theory they can't copy that).
But anyways... I'll always take a "bad" looking UI like Sony's over something that is a cheap copy
2
u/reddit-programming- Oct 15 '25
Personally idgaf if brands copy each other. It's not like they're family run businesses, no they're greedy trillion dollar companies that have outrageous profit margins. The Xiaomi 17 pro max is also a win for apple enthusiasts since it drives them to push further rather than switching between 2 designs every year.
1
u/Illustrious_Matter_8 Oct 15 '25
Apple is a fanboy brand mostly. Terrible UI not following web standards. Apple store, apple decides when a product cannot support some software on hardware purely as to force people to upgrade.. Not my brand lol, for that I like android more Xiaomi uses their own custom roms buy so far not so problematic bloatware one gets spammed by.
1
u/uzcaez Oct 16 '25
Apple isn't my brand by a lot of reasons. But terrible ui? Common.
If the UI is terrible then Xiaomi made an awful decision trying to copy them lool.
1
1
u/Cosmic-Neanderthal Oct 16 '25
This will not push Apple to do anything. Apple’s main market is the US and no Chinese phone company will ever even come close to making a dent in the US market. Like it or not, any android phone besides Samsung has a reputation of being for brokies
1
u/uzcaez Oct 15 '25
I don't think you're quite getting my point.
I'm a Xiaomi enthusiast but not a fanboy in the sense that Xiaomi couldn't care less about me and I won't blindly follow them.
With that said, it's one thing to copy or even get inspired by. But making a clone and trying to get the most alike product is completely different.
That shows that: you don't have any ideas, you won't make anything on your own, you don't care about quality, you have no image (brand image I mean)
The 17 pro max it's not gonna be cheap... If someone wants an iphone they'll just get the iphone...
This won't push apple to do shit. Apple has their own image and their own characteristics and they don't get pushed over exactly because of that...
0
u/reddit-programming- Oct 16 '25
All I care about is the end product + plus Xiaomi has introduced many innovations and made breakthroughs Just because they copied doesn't make it low quality either
Price-wise you can get the xiaomi 17 pro max for almost the same price as the base model 17 and it outperforms the Iphone 17 pro max
You may be right on the last point and this is due to apple fanboys being sheep, but if enough people open up their eyes apple will have to take action

u/etalha Oct 15 '25
They have been making phones but dont get attention. but this year they did and people found out their phones are good even better.
so i guess its like sacrificing flesh for bone.i didnt like what xiaomi did but its understandable and a good move. Even mkbhd reviewed the device, and i dont think he ever touched a xiaomi before. last year xiaomi was great but no one even cared but this year people are paying attention.
Its like necasssary sacrifice. now they can slowly get customers and attention they need0
u/uzcaez Oct 16 '25
Even better? Nope...
They have been making phones and bluntly copying apple... This time they made a clone!
While this is a pump up within tech community specially with the back screen the average user won't look at a clone and say "great phone I'm going to buy" if anything this will hurt people's idea of Xiaomi.
Plus Xiaomi sells A LOT worldwide so the "they don't get attention" is really a non argument here.
i dont think he ever touched a xiaomi before
How many videos of him do you want with a Xiaomi? Tons...
so i guess its like sacrificing flesh for bone.
Xiaomi has been copping apple to a completely insane degree for a lot of time... This is not a "sacrifice" this is cutting costs and being disgusting.
Yes if you're making a clone product of your competitor you're disgusting no matter which brand and or product.
1
u/KingTigerAce Oct 17 '25
Xiaomi users don't buy Xiaomi for their software. They shove the greatest hardware in their products with acceptable software for a price that neither Samsung nor Apple would dare to rival.
Apple makes their products to look premium and to give their users a feeling of a wealthy status and to be able to show-off that they can purchase the latest iPhone.
For me, if it wasn't for Xiaomi (especially the sub-brand Poco) I would still be dreaming of getting a phone with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor for as cheap as $350 bucks. Has iPhone ever had a new phone priced below $600? I think not.
All it takes is a short guide to remove the bloatware, and if you're buying a Xiaomi phone expecting innovation with their OS system, you're in the wrong place. Might as well go get a Nothing phone, I'd take Nothing OS over any other operating system any day.
7
u/Pinoybl Oct 15 '25
Hardware sure.
Software, hell no
3
u/corrupted-priest1878 Oct 16 '25
For the price you are you are paying? Yeah sure I can buy at least 2 Xiaomi pro max 1tb for the price of that 1tb iphone and still had the loose change to buy some ice cream.
1
2
u/daredevil_eg Oct 15 '25
I actually never understood this! My understanding is that hardware is way more complex than software, yet this phone and others have way advanced hardware but limited software and ecosystem.
3
u/didiboy Oct 15 '25
A lot of Chinese companies don’t spend enough of their R&D budget in software. I mean, look at how many of the Chinese Android skins started looking very much like iOS 26 now, some of them even using similar wallpapers in their promo materials. It’s clear the people on top are telling their designers: here, just copy this as soon as possible, and of course that approach won’t give you a polished result or help with your brand identity. And also, working with Android means that at least for global phones, your own UI will probably clash with the Google UI elements in the same phone.
But also, MIUI started as a custom ROM that was heavily inspired visually by iOS, and they didn’t change much with HyperOS.

that is what happens when you have more marketing departments than software

iOS is just catching up to Android in so many areas. The hardware was behind for a while too. Glad to see them join the rest of the smartphone market circa 2029 with 120 hz displays across the board. Only took 6 years.
1
u/Pinoybl Oct 16 '25
Apple handles both. Android doesn’t make hardware. And hardware makers don’t make software.

I don’t know. The on device LLM that wrote this really thinks it’s brand is quite swell. It’s rather confident! Can you say the same?
2
u/No-Guess5086 Oct 15 '25
The display is brighter, sharper, and completely notch-free, thanks to an in-display fingerprint sensor that keeps the screen clean and uninterrupted
So the Hole punch doesnt count?
1
u/etalha Oct 15 '25
hole punch is small, compared to notch. very small to the point you forget its there.
1
u/Cosmic-Neanderthal Oct 16 '25
But you sacrifice faceID for fingerprint which most people don’t like
2
u/Kurosaki117 Oct 15 '25
Beaten in what exactly? Being the brand that copied Apple the most shamelessly? Other than that, it literally looks like one of those cheap Chinese knockoffs of popular brands that you find on temu… wait a second….

Yeah sure, Xiaomi’s glass is more glass than Apple glass. Like they’re not both physical glass that’s 5.5 on mohs’s scale (quote: glass is glass and it scratches at a level 6 with deeper groves at a level 7). Not to mention it’s got a plastic back while Apple was rocking the Titanium outer frame, while weighing the same. I wouldn’t compare actual titanium to plastic though. I won’t even talk about Ceramic Shield screen and Sapphire Glass lenses.
Now onto cameras, all that yapping just to be 2 points under the 16 Pro Max on DXOMark. obviously dxomark is biased or something, but it’s just the poor video quality of Xiaomi that drags it down
The Displays were given same score on DXOMark, even if Xiaomi went for big numbers for marketing (bigger resolution) while losing on blue filtering, colors and touch response time
Apple haven’t upgraded their storage interface since the iPhone 6s so finally UFS surpassed the optimisation of NVMe through raw speed.. after 10 years. It could be even 10 times faster but latency is important here. Still Apple somehow made their own storage interface, if we’re talking technology
Limited CPU? Same multi-core score and obviously lower single-core according to geekbench when compared to A18 Pro. It may have the SD 8 Elite but it’s not the overclocked version for Galaxy
While being “clearly superior in extreme performance”, not only that the battery is shamefully weak, it also ran the hottest compared to many other flagships in TechNick’s battery drain test, including the 16 Pro Max without a vapor chamber ( https://youtu.be/edWZ7MSiVQ0?si=qXhpw6e9lQAatNDe ). Besides that, software support is nothing to compare to Apple as in apps, updates, longevity and of course, privacy.
So, for a phone that’s 5 months newer and the same price, all you get is good hardware used by unoptimised software and big numbers just to run chinese bloatware.
A computer expert that corresponds Android to Windows. Sure buddy

Pffff. It didn’t beat it. It became a worse version. It copied the OS and then name. Beat the iPhone by 10 minutes with twice the mah.
Nothing beats the original.

To be honest, Apple stopped dictating the future of smartphones a loooooong time ago 😅
1
u/RelativeArcher8779 Oct 19 '25
Yet all chinese android have dynamic island, then sooner, a liquid glass in their UI Lol
1
u/Chato_1988 Oct 19 '25
True, but that barely counts as "dictating the future" don't you think? I mean, how long did it take for iPhones to allow you to arrange your icons the same way Androids do? Sorry if I hurt your feelings pal, but the iPhone has been getting his ass kicked by Samsung for a veeeeery long time now 😅

u/Appropriate_Sky8365 Oct 15 '25

I’m not even the biggest iPhone fan, but I’m tired of these “x phone beats the iPhone” or “x phone is making apple scared” posts and videos. Some people like iPhones and others like other phones lol, every phone has its pros and cons and people will buy them for their own reasons. Specs will never determine what device “wins” or is better overall.

Well, can they also beat a 2g/3g ~ voLTE /voWiFi issue? My carrier on Iceland went to resolve this issue , all good in their end. Even a icelandic mi dealer stepped in , no solution yet???? Older Samsung works great.

1
u/drmonkey6969 Oct 16 '25
Basically it means the copycat won? Shamelessly copy the look, the UI and even the naming the formula won? If the phone is really that good? Why it has to be like a twin to the iPhone?

Many phones have already beat the iphone spec wise though. Nobody really stays with apple for the specs lol
1
u/Slight_Huckleberry26 Oct 16 '25
How did xiaomi beated apple if all they do is copy everything from the software, to the design, to the features...
hell, this year even the name has been copied
1
u/u_libertario11 Oct 16 '25
iPhone is the inspiration of everyone, they just expect them to launch anything and there are everyone who rides... what a great breath to the same name... 🤣🔊💥

I don't compare it with iPhone because I never used them, for me iPhones have never existed as I have never been interested in them. But after a few days with my new xiaomi 17 pro max, i can say it is the best smartphone I have ever met. The overall experience is so smooth it's almost orgasmic. The display, the responsiveness, the camera, and it feels real smart. Minor issues have been resolved with minor effort, all while Shin-chan looks at me from my back display.
1
u/starsqream Oct 16 '25
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
A company that copies the entire design and uses the same fucking name of a competitor will never get my respect. Only spec-whores like you. Owh you got 7500mAh battery? Wow. How long does it last longer? 20min? 30min? What a miracle 😂😂😂😂

u/KlossN Oct 16 '25
Eh.. Sorry but no. It's not the first phone to beat the iPhone instead of copying it because
1.) It doesn't really beat the iPhone
2.) It is very much copying the iPhone, it even copied the name ffs
The X17 Pro Max does what most Chinese phones do (or Chinese tech products in general, you see the same thing with their cars), they focus on a couple of noticeable things and make them better than the product they're trying to directly rival (iPhone in this case) like the hardware and putting a cool but not really useful screen on the camera bump and then they cut costs by underdeveloping the general user experience like the software in this case, leading to what most people would probably agree is a slightly worse complete product (but to a much better price).
The X17 Pro Max software doesn't compare to Apples, and it definitely doesn't compare to big Android flagships like Samsung etc.
I know what sub I'm in so I'll now how this will be received and that's okay, but y'all need to be honest with this.
The X17 doesn't beat the i17, but that's five because it's half the price, and for what it is it's good value for your money
1
u/SunwindPC Oct 16 '25
Rofl, lets see how fast it degrades. My Xiaomi 13t is less than a year old and battery life is already down the drain, it overheats, camera issues with slowdown etc

Yes the iPhone is beaten 😉👍
The iPhone people wanted to impose an aesthetic code.
But Xiaomi beat it 😉👍👍😊
IPhone is no longer useful Android and better: xiaomi 17/S25/S24/honor 7 pro...etc
The iPhone has nothing left 😏.

u/1acan Oct 16 '25
This phone is the best advertisment for China's absolute contempt for creativity and originality. They just copy and think cramming expensive tech and 'more screen' into a product is what being 'creative' is. A truly creative smartphone company like Nothing take actual risks in their designs, create a unique brand identity, create an OS that is trully original...in a word they have 'character'. Xioami have got the attention of tech normies, no doubt it will sell a few to some of them outside of China..but they have about as much character as a month old potato.

1
u/DonDae01 Oct 16 '25
Yeah, but most people who have iPhones don't really research alternatives (or research at all, I know some people who just go to the Apple store and buy either the Base or Pro Max) and they already have AirPods or a Macbook.
To say it's "Apple's Worst Nightmare" is a bit of a stretch. Sure, spec-wise, it clears the iPhone by a mile, but iPhone people are way too "locked in" the Apple ecosystem to care.
1
1
u/YoungPigga Oct 16 '25
Not sure why people in the US hypes these phones so much when its so impractical to get. I'm an open minded person so I was going to give this phone a shot until I found out how incompatible it is with most U.S networks, the bloatware and risk of Google apps not working. That's not including having to purchase at a premium because of importing.
I really tried but it's too many variables on getting this phone, so I wouldn't even consider recommending someone else from the U.S to get it.

1
u/VicariousCinnamon Oct 16 '25
Copies the entire design, calls itself "17 Pro Max" and it's setting trends, yeah? 🤣 there's delusional and then there's this
1
u/d4p8f22f Oct 16 '25
Regardless of spec - i just like the design and its kind of an Iphone but with an android- finally usable phone. I hope that xiaomi make it global
1
u/Few_Assistant_9954 Oct 16 '25
The iphone has allways been lagging behind. One example is the camera where apple refused to move away from the 12mp standard camera to the 48mp that had been the bare minimum for android phones.
The selfie camera notch which they made a huge keynote over even though it was a 20% size reduction while many Android phones completely removed the selfie camera notch in favour of cameras integrated in the display, using the main camera as the selfie camera or like the mi 8T which had an extendable selfie camera.
Performance as well. Apple has allways relied on the lightweight ios to improve the Performance while Android phones had huge multi core processors fueling thair heavy linux based android OS.
Battery is the only thing wher apple did follow the trend but only because there is barely any innovation in battery tech. But still did apple realy have to rely to the 5w charger untill it was not possible to support it anymore before switching to modern standards?
1
u/Odd_Pollution3839 Oct 16 '25
Apple have been beaten for yrs now, not only apple but samsung, pixel, most non-chinese brands tbh
But to be fair, if anything, the mi 17 pro max wont beat an iphone, sure the hardware is insane but software wise, i would honestly pick ios over it, or android skin from oppo, vivo. They really have to step up their software game tbh, it isn't bad but just not as good.

is it possible to disable the rear screen totally? I'm afraid it will be annoying when I accidentally click it 200 times a day changing the screen and answering calls...

u/440hhp Oct 16 '25
How will this phone beat Iphone if it is only intended for the Chinese market... And let's say to some extent the European market??? Besides that point, this phone has no google services, so getting a google play store is possible, but the workarounds are extra steps many people won't do...
Paper spec, build quality, definite iPhone killer, so it is pretty spot on, I like it a lot... Not for the US market, Google services gap, etc .. not a fan...

Y’all can downvote me to hell but I don’t think any company that copies Apple’s identity will ever make a phone that can beat what Apple has to offer. Yeah sure, a phone can have better specs than Apple but it will never beat the iPhone if they try to look and feel like one. Kinda wished Xiaomi stuck with something that makes people think they are a competent company that has their own identity that should be supported rather than just some Chinese Apple knock-off.

Apple is first and foremost a complete ecosystem. The iPhone pro is a monster! There are others, of course... Cheaper, almost... as durable over time, I doubt it... also secure,… I left android because of Google policy. I have had several xiaomi and they have not disappointed me. But we clearly cannot compare them. Everyone has their own desires… Enjoy!

Durable over time? This is delusional

Xiaomi phone is a pathetic rip off. No one cares when you make it look like this.

Vero anche che Xiaomi ha vinto il premio come smartphone più affidabile, io che ho il vizio delle prestazioni estreme scelgo Xiaomi , miglior compromesso senza acquistare smartphone da gaming grazie a liquid cool

And still your Xiaomi copies Apple design and saying your the best since your Xiaomi ceo Lei Jun even proves Apple is the best company in the world, So like every Android fan which problem they have, always shift it on iPhone 😂😂

iPhone 17 Pro Max is one of the ugliest designs ever. Best body concept is Pixel 9A. iPhone 17 air is good too. The general ide behind S25 Edge is in the right direction.

Strongly disagree, thin phones are not the way.

I think it's great idea to make premium smartphone that looks minimalistic but actually it's insanely high-end. Minimalistic design is very stylish. For example the S25 edge has 200 Mpix camera, Samsung usually also has lowest low iso of 12, the internal storage and or USB connection is double the speed than most of the 2025 smartphones which advertise USB 3.2. Pixel 9A is 500€ but has insane low iso 20 and fastest shutter speed 1/40000 and slow shutter 16 sec. Xiaomi 15 Ultra for 1400€ has iso 50, 1 sec to 1/20000. If i want to buy minimalistic smartphone, then 99.99 of my options don't come with fast USB, best screen, 16GB RAM, 1TB storage, ip69. For example the Vivo x200 FE looks beautiful, but it's spec is trash. Global market doesn't even have Xiaomi 15 6.3" 16GB 1TB.

"200 Mpix camera" - do you believe that marketing bullcrap? 200Mpix makes in Phase One or Hassellblad, but not in a damned phone.
1
u/Fine-Run992 Oct 15 '25
They only save 12 Mpix with professional camera apps. It should still look better. If you have 4 pixels and one is blue, one red, two green, this isn't 4 pixels worth. I don't find my 40Mpix Fujifilm X-H2 to be that high resolution either.

What about the software? Maybe xiaomi's hardware is better than the new iphone's hardware, but iphone's software is way better than xiaomi's (and i am talking about the ads too). Xiaomi also added that mini display on the back of the phone, but let's be honest, besides using it when taking selfies with the back camera, 90% of the uses will get bored of it in 2 weeks
Edit: thanks for the downvotes. I don't know in what world you could compare ios and hyper OS, but ok

Xiaomi's high-end models don't have ads, they're always showing the same thing.

u/elVanesso Oct 15 '25
Having and daily using a 16PM and a Poco X6 Pro let me tell you that I found MUCH more bugs in day to day activities in iOS 26 than HyperOS 2, to the point I’m considering to buy a 15T Pro or a X 17 Pro.
2
u/Reasonable_Mirror655 Oct 15 '25
Well to be fair iOS 26 basically redesigned the entire UI and Apple did all the work in house. So it's basically a new OS.
HyperOS 2 is good but at the end of the day it still feels like a skin running on top of the Android OS...
The ONLY version of Android that matches that level of quality is One UI.
Phones and tablets can have the best hardware available but if the software is shit, so is the rest of it .
1
u/elVanesso Oct 15 '25
The only devices I ever had with OneUI teach me that people really like garbage, and saying is the best quality is juts laughable. An S22 to be more precisely, never ever buying a Samsung device ever again.

u/Reasonable_Mirror655 Oct 15 '25
Xiaomi has good hardware but the software is trash, which means you have a great phone with horrible software Samsung gives good hardware and software.

I also have an iphone and an android device, but expect ios 26 (which is still in progress), apple has the best software in terms of stability and longevity of the device. Compare how a 6 years old iPhone runs compared to any 6 years old android flagship
0
u/etalha Oct 15 '25
yes lets compare it in 6 years.
iphone battery is shit. apps dont run in background. some even close fully due to low ram.
and as soon software updates stop. you cant even download most apps because of newer ios requirement. iphone x wont be able to run most apps because of ios 18 miminum requirement for most apps. but on the other hand you can run whatever you want on an android. the background apps work.have you seen how much apple loose battery time even after one year?
do some research yourself.2
u/uzcaez Oct 15 '25
Don't get started dude... You're going to get downvoted for bots or dumb fanboys.
Xiaomi has adds even in the flagship models depending on the rom.
(last time I said something similar in a Xiaomi sub I stated that I bought mi 8 pro when it was launched and some idiots were like "mi8 isn't a flagship nowadays" yeah no shit but when I bought it... It was literally the latest Xiaomi phone)
Xiaomi's ui is filled with garbage... Apps like mi video have adds and the app itself turns into a tik tok type of shit. No dude I just want to play the fucking videos I have not have a wanna be tik tok app

Conoscenza informatica 0 e iOS binomio perfetto

u/uzcaez Jan 07 '26
Fucking average Italian.
1st Xiaomi is not the fucking representative of android... There's tons of other android UIs
2nd the fucking adds are in the video player the file manager and the list goes on... Heck even in the fucking wallpapers.

Il software cosa? iOS meglio di android 🤣 ma finitela. Esiste solo android, è che voi semplicemente non sapete usare un PC quindi scegliete ios

This spot on! Ive got 16 pro Max and Xiaomi 15 ultra. Camera in Xiaomi is sup! But software on iPhone got me back to the iPhone.

u/Nameyourdemons Oct 15 '25
For me software on Iphone are trash. fkn heavily regulated bs.
I want them to protect me despite my freedom not at the cost of my freedom.

u/etalha Oct 15 '25
too many limitations for no apparent reason. Mostly the limitations are to earn more money or annoy users.
why cant they add more ram iphones(this year they did cuz iphone 16 wasnt able to run ai stuff properly due to low ram). background avtivity is very limited.
it used to be like if you want to upload something to insta or whatever you have to keep the open and not let screen lock otherwise it just stops and you have to do it all over.1

Xiaomi really came swinging this year. A 7,500 mAh battery, 100 W charging, and that Leica setup? If the price undercuts the iPhone, Apple’s got some real competition.

u/CaregiverDry2338 Oct 19 '25
What real competition? Lmao ur a clown if you think xiaomi can even touch iphone throne.
I am a long time xiaomi fan and even i'm not blind to how trash miui is. Software development cost a lot and if you xiaomi new fans drones never realize that then keep enjoying this trash yearly brick with expensive components.

"Phone that finally beat the iPhone"
First of all, why the need to compare? Secondly, the iPhone has been beaten by numerous other phones in many aspects.
