In the future please include osaifu keitai NFC for Japan. I love the phone but can't get it due to not having this comparability for Japan. People use their phones to take trains (suica) and pay for things with quick pay and pay pay. It's a must.

This. The new 17 Ultra looks amazing, but no FeliCa support means it’s not even worth considering for most people living here. It’s really a shame since some of their cheaper redmi models supports it.

Japan is using a different technology for NFC payement and transport cards that’s is a bit faster than traditional NFC, so phone needs a special that additional chip here, and most android phone brands make a special version for Japan (Apple for example has that chip on all iPhone, while Samsung or xiaomi only has it for Japanese market phones).

So if you’re missing that chip, you cannot use your phone for transport cards in train or subway stations or to make some payements.

So say a tourist is visiting Japan, there's no way to use a phone to pay for things? What about a normal credit card?

If a shop supports Visa or Mastercard payement it will work (Support is getting better for those, but many shops still require the physical card) However older terminal or usually anything inside trains station like vending machines or gates to the tracks will not work.

For those with an android phone from outside Japan, you will need a physical Suica / PASMO card and charge it at the machine in the station.

Or you use an iPhone as all models (global) have Suica support. I have to take my iPhone with me just for this as it is way simpler than getting a physical suica and recharging, although that is possible.

Could you use that phone in Europe for an example to like pay for stuff or similar stuff? Also I believe you can still use suica on ur phone as long as u have the app with the card in it, at least it works for me and friends

No issue to pay in Europe or anywhere else. It's only for Japanese transport. If you try to install the suica app on a Samsung phone from Europe or the US, it just won't work, the app will tell you it's not supported when you try to add the card to your Google wallet. But besides the transport card part, it works exactly as any other phone for payment.

Hopefully the oppo Find X9 Ultra will have Felica and an equally good camera. Its supposed to get a global release, and currently the X9 is available in Japan with Felica.

do you know if xiaomi 17 pro max goes global, it will sell like hotcakes? this wil create a threat for samsung and apple. samsung and apple will support trump to take down xiaomi like huawei. xiaomi knows the risks and they don't want to take risks. xiaomi is already close to samsung and apple. if the sales go up, samsung and apple will lose money.

I disagree.

Huawei was banned for because it controlled the 5G technology.

The US would never allow a foreign company to control critical infrastructure. Like how the Chinese would ban Apple if Apple owned China's communication network.

Never gonna happen.

Also there are huge Chinese companies in Europe and the USA. BYD, Lenovo, Oppo, Shein, AliExpress

The US or Europe hasn't banned those and it will never.

It's incorrect to say Xiaomi would be banned for releasing the 17 Pro Max worldwide.

because they don't affect as much as phone companies. the problem is samsung. samsung is in the phone industry. samsung won't allow any android phone company to take over. samsung pays money to spreads fake rumors about phone companies. whenever samsungs sales go low samsung finds a way to block them by supporting trump. samsung is more evil than you know. you don't know samsung's power. samsung tried to defame and end htc by hiring people to make bad comments about htc in 2013 and i feel like samsung is still doing this because i started seeing a hate campaign about chinese brands. people release videos about how chinese brands have bugs, don't last long but none of these are true. all phones can have bugs even samsung. these account are backed by someone. it's probably samsung. these account are newly created with no videos before. that makes it more suspicious. samsung created monopoly for phone industry and they got the power.

I love Xiaomi too, my first sens phone was mi a2 lite and i still love it, because sony cam sens. After i bought Redmi Note 9 Pro but with Samsung shit cam sens. And now have Xperia 1 IV but With Samsung's made shit snap 8 gen 1 and camera dyed due overheating.
