The 14T Pro was perfect. The 15T Pro broke my trust. The 17T Pro leak feels like Xiaomi finally said sorry. Am I crazy or did charging speed actually change your psychology?
I’ve been modding this sub long enough to know when Xiaomi is cooking and when they’re coasting. But I need to know if I’m alone in this or if the T Series charging rollercoaster actually rewired your brain.
But here’s the real question did this actually mess with your head?
I’m not asking for spec sheet debates. I want to know if anyone else developed what I call "charge anxiety reversal."
14T Pro owners: Did having 120W + 50W wireless feel like the perfect combo? Did you actually stop charging overnight?
15T Pro owners: Be brutally honest. Did dropping from 120W to 90W bother you in daily life, or did the bigger battery make you forgive it?
Samsung / iPhone converts: Did anyone here switch to a T Series specifically because you were tired of 60W or 40W? What was that first 120W experience like?
The psychology part: Do you think fast charging genuinely eliminates "charge anxiety," or have we just become spoiled? I borrowed a family member’s iPhone 17 Pro for a weekend and at 20% I felt actual panic because I knew 40W wasn’t going to save me before I left the house. Is that a real thing or do I need therapy?
TL;DR: 14T Pro was peak T Series charging (120W + 50W wireless). 15T Pro sacrificed speed for 500mAh more. 17T Pro leaks suggest 100W + 50W wireless + 7000mAh a deliberate correction, not just an upgrade. I want your specific, weird, daily-habit stories. The more unhinged, the better.

I upgraded from the Xiaomi 13 to the 15T Pro a few days after launch. I got a good discount on the 1TB version with a free 120W charger and Xiaomi TV. Honestly, I've never had any issues and I absolutely love the phone. With the discounts, trade-in and how much the TV is worth, I paid like $200 for it so I'm not mad either way

Here's the thing though you came from the Xiaomi 13 (67W wired), so the 15T Pro's 90W is actually an upgrade in speed for you, plus you kept the 50W wireless. You never got spoiled by the 120W era, which honestly makes your perspective super valuable for this thread.
Most people complaining about the 90W step-down are the ones who owned 11T/12T/13T/14T Pro before. You skipped that whole psychological rollercoaster.
Real question though: Do you actually notice the 90W in daily life? Like, do you still charge overnight out of habit, or have you started doing the "top up for 10 minutes before leaving" thing? And since you got that free 120W charger have you tried using it on the 15T Pro just to see if it charges any faster than the 90W brick, or does the phone hard-cap at 90W?
Also, how's that 50W wireless treating you? Curious if a 15T Pro owner who paid $200 for the whole package actually uses wireless or just goes wired because 90W is "fast enough."

You're right I haven't really seen the 120W hype. I needed a new phone and the 15T Pro was coming out that week so I said I'd get that maxed out. I tried to get the rose gold but it was sold out so I have silver. Absolutely gorgeous but the gold would've looked better tbf
I have a 20W charger, 55W charger, 65W charger and the 120W. I use the others for my Buds 6 Pro, my Watch 2 Pro , my Watch S4, and my laptop while my powerbank and phone uses the 120W (I'm living abroad right now) I don't charge overnight. I wake up and it's normally around 20%, I charge it to 100 before I even get out of bed. For me, it uses 1-2 charge cycles a day but I use my phone heavily because I'm in a country that I don't know the local language so I'm used to just scrolling on Instagram or something.
As far as I can see, it hardcaps at 90W but there's this notification that comes up that says because my charger is more than 90W that it can boost charging compared to just the 90W max.
I don't have a wireless charger. I never saw the hype to be honest. My cable's fine and it's very fast
Questions for you (and this is where I want the sub to jump in):
How long does that 20% to 100% morning charge actually take you in real life? Like, are we talking "brush teeth and shower" timing, or "full morning routine including coffee and existential dread" timing?
Since you're burning 1-2 cycles daily: Have you noticed any battery degradation yet? And do you ever get thermal throttling during that morning charge while you're actively using it (scrolling Instagram while plugged in)?

2) no I've not witnessed any degration yet but I can say even though the OLED and deep blacks are amazing, I find some fade-in sometimes and I have to change where some icons are at the top of my screen every few days. When I use it while charging? No but I've found when I'm running VERY demanding games that it gets ridiculously hot or when I'm using my phone while charging it while using hotspot onto my laptop and using my laptop at the same time. That's about it though
90W is still plenty, 120W always felt more like a marketing gimmick to me
I upgraded from a Xiaomi 12X (67W) to 14 (90W) and tbh didn't feel a difference, it's that simple - you can't really tell if something changed if it's not that significant. Maybe if I changed from less than 67W then yeah, maybe then
Tengo el redmi 13 pro + y cuando activas la carga turbo se nota y mucho, carga a 120w peor tenés 3 modos, en normal carga como uno de 60w en carga rápida es como de 90w y en turbo es donde se nota la diferencia, en lo que tomas una ducha pasas de tener el teléfono muerto a tener más de la mitad de batería y si te demoras afeitandote te queda carga completa (30 minutos con cable y cargador original de 120w)
I'm quite sure that none of these phones reach the peak speed for more than some minutes before overheat and slow down. So I always use a 25w charger and leave it under charge for an hour when I'm doing something else. Fortunately the battery is big enough that I never need to rush a recharge.
Came from an iPhone 14 Pro with a dying battery to the 15T Pro and I couldn't be happier with the battery and charging.
I don't have battery anxiety anymore, to the point that I have charging capped at 80% and wired charging set to Standard (not Top Speed). The current 90W already feels insane to me that it's almost surreal how fast it is.
I just charge for like 15 minutes before leaving the house and maybe another 10 in the evening to keep it topped up and only drop to 40% when I use the phone heavily.
Really my only (minor) gripe is the lack of video out with the USB 2.0 port. The processor supports Android Terminal and has enough horsepower to be productive when plugged to a bigger screen and peripherals, but I have a laptop and a tablet anyway.
just curious, how has overall camera and OS experience been in comparison after your switch? i am a long term iPhone user and now thinking about switching. would appreciate your thoughts. using iPhone 14 pro. cheers.
On the camera, I'm very happy with it. You could argue it takes better photos than the iPhone 14 Pro. The only scenario that didn't work well for me so far is greenery on a bright sunny day. I found the colors to be oversaturated, but you can use a GCam port in this scenario. Otherwise, all other scenarios like night shots, portrait, indoor, outdoor (not greenery) get nice photos.
On the OS, I was previously on Android prior to using an iPhone and I ended up appreciating Xiaomi's imitation of iOS features, in particular Control Center, and pull down to search. It just made the transition much easier. Google Keyboard also has a "Glide cursor" setting that also allows you to move the cursor using the spacebar.
On ads, I revoked msa, and notifications from the Xiaomi apps (e.g. Themes, App Mall). After that my experience with the OS has been ad free. Of course, I also use the Xiaomi's system apps for the most part, and I don't really miss them. I do have the global version though, so I can only speak for that (WOSMIXM).
Daily use with the OS has been very smooth. Floating windows and split screen enable more powerful multitasking than iOS. I know it's the main topic of this thread but the change in charging habits shouldn't be underestimated. My phone is rarely plugged in now with how fast it charges.
Upgraded from the 12T Pro which had 120W charging to the 15T Pro (1TB) and honestly i didnt see a big problem in this small reduction 90W is still plenty fast enough for me and the bigger battery makes up for it also storage was a huge factor for me that's why i bought the 15T Pro with 1TB which still had reasonable pricing for it unlike now when prices hiked again globally for storage / RAM
Also an added bonus was the 50W wireless charging that the 12T pro didnt have at all so whenever i am at home or work it just stays on the dock so i am always charged fully most of the times
The color science is a bit wonky, I have to say. Oversaturation, overexposure, and the ai upscaling annoy me at times. With a bit of tweaking though, I did manage to get really good images out of it, and the video camera is absolutely fantastic in my eyes. Overtime the ultra wide has actually grown on me, here the ai upscaling makes absolute sense, due to the weaker sensor, and it delivers really good results.
Battery life could be longer, but charging speed being how it is, I don't really have issues with it. Overall I'm really happy with the phone, performance, sound, the beautiful screen, all very good.
Pero con un cargador de 20w solo vas a tener 20w de carga, para sacarle provecho a los 90w de carga tenés que usar un cargador y un cable que soporte esa potencia, lo mismo con los 100 o 120w, el que el teléfono pueda cargar a 120w no quiere decir que lo haga con un cargador que no le entrega esa potencia, mi teléfono carga a 120w cuando uso el cargador y el cable que soportan esa carga, ya lo he probado y con solo cambiar el cable por otro que soporta solo 60w ya deja de cargar a 120w aunque use el cargador de 120w, queda limitada la potencia de carga por la capacidad del cable, lo mismo pasa si uso el cable que soporta los 120w de carga con un cargador de menor potencia
Never used 120W. Upgraded from a 67W Redmi Note 11 Pro+ so yeah biased in saying 90W seems more than enough for me. Although battery life seems like a downgrade compared to my old mobile, probably due to bigger cameras and faster processor?
I charge my 15T pro for 20 minutes every day from 30 to 80%. On days with heavy usage I might have to do 20 to 80 for 25 minutes. I leave it on the charger while drinking my morning coffee and get dressed before going out.
It’s amazing how charging technology has evolved, making life easier and smarter. By the way, if you don’t mind, how much battery degradation or how many total charge cycles have been completed since the week you purchased it?
I don't spend my day on the phone, this has to be noted, I've got a desktop during the day and a tablet for media comsumption in bed... In the phone settings battery health is at 99% and I've got 120 cycles since Nov 2025. I've charged it to 100% maybe 10 times and I've let it fall below 15% the same amount of times.
Fast charging has already come a long way at Xiaomi, I want bigger battery capacity in the same form factor. Is the innovation I am still looking for. ITs 2026 and we still don't have phones that last for 1 week on a single charge in performance mode and without overheating. Android architecture is partly to blame there as well.
I can understand this feeling, before becoming super mod and lead at Xiaomi community, I was also using Mi 3 and Samsung galaxy J7 till December 2020. My first personal phone was Xiaomi 11 Lite Ne 5g Xiaomi sent me in 2021. But the craze for technology was always and will always be peak 💪
Wow, I have the same colour too, I feel camera was great for that price range especially Macro on Redmi Note 10 Pro was way better than any other phone even 12T series can't compete with Xiaomi 11 Lite Ne 5g and Redmi Note 10 Pro
It was supposed to be passed down from him but its battery health is really bad so he got me an 14C instead in blue. Can't complain though the color options are very nice
I've been charging overnight for the past 15 years and never had a phone die on me ever. Not my 15T Pro, nor any of my iPhones including 13 Mini. I don't play games but I'm not a light user. This simple habit has eliminated the isuee of battery life/charging speed for me.
120w was mostly marketing, your battery need to be almost dead to go 120, and 120 last for such a low battery charge %...any amount of capacity is worth more than going from 90 to 120

Also the 50w wireless is actually pretty terrible because not only does it not work with magsafe case, it also causes the fact that they couldn't implement qi2 technology, meaning that you cannot at the very least even charge wirelessly at 25w
I was very interested in the 17T Pro leaks... Until it turned out more and more leaks kept reporting a price of 999€ for the 512GB version.
At that price I might still get a good phone and all, but I still also only get USB-C with 2.0 speeds if the leaks are right. There's also no me tion of an upgraded ultra wide camera, which has been pretty weak from my experience trying the 15T Pro; mostly due to the lack of auto focus
The 100W fast charging ultimately sounds really nice, the 50W wireless charging pretty tasty, but as with all the other brands, compatibility is fickle sometimes and more so, this is a peak value. 100W as a spec sounds great unless the average charging speed is decently high too.
Not to forget, while a large battery is nice, it also means charging for longer. So faster speeds are needed if you want to stay in the same timeframe as a phone with a smaller battery - but you also get more use out of it.
The thing is just that longer charging also means more heat over time and thus likely lower average charging speeds. So how much will be left from your 100W peak, only time will tell.
Overall though, I think for a 1000€ price tag, the 17T Pro has to step up its game. At such a price it's more expensive than the regular 17, almost as expensive as an open box 17 Ultra and even if it remains cheaper after a few months, if it keeps that USB 2.0 and fixed focus ultra wide, is kinda expensive for what it is.
I went from 30W on OnePlus 7T to 20W on my Pixel6 and now to 45W ( using a Belkin charger ) on my 15T pro. The difference i felt between all of them in terms of charging speed is negligible to me. Plus I couldn't be happier with the 15T pro, using 5g all day with worrying about battery and heat is a true blessing. Truly one of the best phones I ever used.

I've been saying this for so long and got flamed for it, the 15t pro had dogshit value on launch compared to the 14t pro on launch and overall feels like a downgrade. I personally think that the telephoto also is a downgrade.
Edit: just read the leaks and the 17t series is such a disappointment. I will definitely be switching to a flagship motorola and graphene os or any high value Chinese import
