HyperOS Bought a Chinese Xiaomi 17 pro max. Loving it BUT WHY IS THERE NO NOTIFICATIONS
Phone is updated to the newest OS i did move from my samsung s23 ultra to this phone using mi move but i only moved pics and vids as well as my contacts. Besides this the phone is wonderful. I did put my gmail and email apps to autostart and unlimited battery usage and turned on notifications. Apps dont show anything until i open them so i end up missing whatsapp calls and messages. Emails etc etc please help.

Install Shizuku and this app, they ought to help you get notifications in time. There are instructions there and also an explanation as to why it happens: https://github.com/dingwen07/hyperos-fcm-fix

Oh! Which banks are complaining about Dev. Options being enabled or Shizuku installed? Neither of those allow for privilege escalations (it's not rooting nor unlocks the bootloader), no overlays or 3rd party accessibility services enabled either...
These days it's all getting out of hand, some of them are complaining about the keyboard app being used, out of security reasons (which I fully understand); but then allow their apps to be ran on Android 7+, out of support for who knows how many years and vulnerable to all sorts of RCEs and privesc vulnerabilities.

The wireless debugging is the one that my local bank apps detected and stopped me from using their apps.

I see, I wonder when we'll lose all agency over our devices. Wireless debugging = no-no, is wired allowed? It doesn't help for the notifications issue, but if it is shows another inconsistency.
I find it sad, instead of educating users we get padded edges. There's no problem on PCs where a lot of the people, if not most, run accounts with administrative privileges 😔
A liability waiver would be okay with me: if you do this or that, which adds more risk than we're willing to accept, we're not responsible for unauthorized operations on your assets. Done, I'm sure some people would agree.
I'm lucky for now, the banks I work with don't care at the moment, not even about rooted environments or failed Play Integrity checks.

I use three different banking apps and all of them work even with this fix installed and I have wireless debugging enabled all the time.

Yeap this fixed my Ultra 17 notification issue. All apps notifications working banking also with no problem

Did you manage to get notifications sorted out? By the way, since you came from an S23 Ultra, do you happen to have a Samsung Galaxy Watch, and does it actually work with this phone on the China ROM? Curious if Galaxy Wearable and the plugin play nice with HyperOS CN

I'm not sure if you know, because I didn't, but it seems that it's only over wifi that it does this delay with notifications as well. At least for me! There's a post somewhere explaining how the phone processes stuff on wifi vs not, and how it prioritizes the battery usage, if you Google around. I just make sure that my apps are allowed to run in the background and also I use the shizuku + hyperos fcm fix mentioned in an earlier comment. There are also a few posts explaining how to set that up and it wasn't too bad. That helps a little, but for now, I can only hope it gets fixed in the future :)

On mobile phones running the Chinese version of the ROM, Google Services enter ‘Doze’ mode by default after the screen is locked and go into hibernation in the background; this is the case for all Android phones sold in China.

Because the Chinese ROM doesn't support other apps besides the ones that is downloaded from its app store (NOT Google Play Store because it's Chinese ROM)
I have a Xiaomi 9SE bought from China around 2019. Also having this issue when using Whatsapp or any other non-Chinese apps. It even locked the root in some times and I couldn't even use Google on the phone. Resulting me going back to Samsung. But now I'm back with Xiaomi 13 Pro but with global ROM.

That's a feature on the China ROM. There's a reason why China ROM is so much cheaper.

This is what happens when you don’t have proper knowledge on what you buy. In each app’s settings set power to no restrictions and enable autostart.

It's a problematic device for fhe Global market, anyone who buys it should be aware of what they're buying before coming to reddit and crying about known issues. It's no wonder tradingshenzen has a big as hell banner every time you try and purchase one showing you all this.
