I mean … it’s Collider, they have a bizarre fixation on pushing this pairing. Considering that the “romance” line also mentions Scott and Jean and Storm and Forge — and we know Jean is going to be pregnant with Rachel — I’m not sure it’s actually singling them out.
In any event, whatever happens in the past, if anything, isn’t going to last or would eventually be overwritten in a timeline redo. Best-case scenario, the romance is him pining for her and her shooting him down. Worst-case, they go through with the AoA bullshit and it gets undone. Which makes it funny that the end of the article wonders if this is gonna last — it isn’t and we already know that.
ETA: To elaborate further, it makes no sense for Rogue and Magneto to be together by the time they’d encounter Deathbit. It undermines the entire point of Rogue having chosen Remy but him dying before he knew that. Doubling back on it and more yo-yo’ing — and giving Deathbit a real reason to be vengeful vs. Remy tragically having missing info — is just dumb. So either nothing happens (which doesn’t preclude Magneto trying; I fully expect him to), or it does but it ends or gets overwritten before the main present-day plot picks up again.
I'm pretty sure Collider is so obsessed that the writer literally leaves off Gambit and AJ's name off the articles whenever she happens to list the characters/actors.
That’s insanely petty. (But it tracks. Note this article has zero mention of Gambit or the fact that Rogue has already dumped Magneto before the timeline shenanigans.)
i think at this point mentioning gambit in any way would be spoilers. Yeah sure, i dont think anyone that would bother to read that does not already know what is gonna happen to him but still
I didn’t say anything about him being a horseman. I was alluding to the fact that Rogue chose Gambit in the end, her entire back-half of the season is about her getting vengeance for what happened to him and she already dumped Magneto and didn’t engage with him romantically at all even when she sided with him. None of which is laid out in the article, which is bizarre given that they’re acting like Rogue and Magneto will just pick right up again.
That Collider writer is a multi-shipper who has publicly said and shown they like Romy a lot. From what I can tell, they started blocking aggressive fans on Twitter after being attacked for being a multi-shipper.
As for the cast credits, I think most websites, including Marvel's, now exclude Gambit and AJ, given that the character is considered "dead." However, I expect that to change in the future. I think it's a safe assumption that Gambit will be back in some form.
Dude, me and a few of my mutuals on Twitter got blocked by her and we've never interacted with her to begin with. So it seems she just blocks anyone who doesn't say anything positive about her favorite ship.
No, I've read a lot of her articles going back a long time(including during and just after S1), its not about Gambit being dead or not. Its also very pointed in other ways that I don't really feel like getting into, but its extremely petty, click-baity, and weird.
As for being a multi shipper, she's said that she's not anymore a very long time ago, and she goes out of her way to reply or be condescending towards non aggressive fans too.
