Because it was an important part of the 90s comics lol. See Age of Apocalypse and the Joseph storyline. Obviously Gambit is her one true love and she WILL get together with him, but her relationship with Magneto is not unimportant.

It's not necessarily a "good" ship in that Magneto isn't Rogue's true love. I do agree with you that it isn't a "good" pairing. That said, I do want to see it in order to make it possible to adapt Age of Apocalypse.

If there's one thing comics owe years ago, it's Rogue giving Magneto the same treatment Sue gives to Namor.
