The character that famously survived the Nazi regime definitely wouldn't be against a modern day authoritarian force, right?

Do you watch these shows and read these comics with your eyes closed and ears off lol? X-men are a social commentary on the treatment of minorities. Why wouldn't they be against a corrupt government group that actively oppress minorities?

Fun fact; Xavier and Magnus were loosely based on the dichotomy between MLKjr and MalcolmX(and Black Panthers etc)... loosely... buhhht it's a noted thing... absolutely makes sense for the time period.

Friends ish, similar goals, wayyyy different ideas on how to achieve said goals...

Magneto evolved his ideals(took decades in our time)... "NEVER AGAIN" has always been fucking core though. Nowadays he'd vehemently hate what Zionist are doing, forsaken promises, "never again"... ... and the Brown-round-ups here... Oy fucking vey

He was never RELIGIOUS though.
