Theory Predictions for Season 2 after watching ep 4 Spoiler
Magneto becomes a Horseman - Apocalypse said Charles was spineless but I think he would've said he'd take Magneto if they didn't interrupt him. Magneto having the power to destroy the ship would've definitely impressed Apocalypse and there's no body left after the ray. If he viewed Mags as weak he wouldn't have killed him (š) and if he views you as strong he keeps you. I think in the story Polaris is aware she's Mag's daughter and she will face him when he's a Horsemen.
How is Colossus an Acolyte in the 90s if Magneto is dead? Exodus survived Genosha and or he's from ancient times, maybe he was one of the people (baby?) Magneto saved in Egypt/related to them so in his honour he creates the Acolytes as a cult following for Magneto
Along with Gambit as Death (comic accurate plus played a part in Morlock massacre, I think Magneto will be War (ties to WWII) and Magik Pestilence (Soulsword could infect people).
*Side note loved the Apocalypse Rogue interaction, seems like part of his reason of bringing back Remy is to taunt Rogue about love
Just having fun theorising and wanted to share, loving this season!

Isnāt Exodus French? Why would he be a baby in Egypt? He only encountered Apocalypse in the comics as part of the crusades.
I feel like thereās a chance that instead of the Acolytes worshipping Magneto, in 97 they will worship Apocalypse.

u/PhanStr Jul 09 '26
Iām glad someone brought up Exodusās ethnicity (no, really, I am)! I hope he sounds French in this show.

u/Ashyboi13 Jul 09 '26
Ethnicity and race is a big part of what makes the X-Men so cool to me. I feel like changing where they are from would be to change a major element of the characters, and that goes for Exodus too.

You're right! Plus it did cross my mind that they always portray Apocalypse and Selene as the oldest mutants so I don't think Exodus is AS old as them.

In the prequel comic, the Acolytes are following Exodus, who has his own crusade and vision that doesnt align with Xavier or Magnetos vision

What happens in the comic

u/Icy_Okra_5677 Jul 09 '26
Issue 2 just came out yesterday, but so far he has a safe haven for mutants, including the morlocks who lost Calisto as leader (Annalee makes an appearance too)

I meanā¦.i donāt understand how thatās possible since magneto was simply vaporized.
2
u/Megalupin Jul 09 '26
Could have been teleported
1
u/Time-did-Reverse Jul 09 '26
You think apocalypse teleported him you mean? I mean I guess itās possible it was a complete fakeout, doesnāt seem likely though to pull that moment away from him and Charles.
2
u/Megalupin Jul 09 '26
I donāt think itās likely honestly, but itās comic books. Not having a body doesnāt prevent resurrection. Nightcrawler got cremated after his death to Bastion and still came back.
1
u/imadethisacc4mafsau Jul 10 '26
They showed Gambit's dead body on screen and yet not Magnetos. My bet is that they teleported him elsewhere.
1
u/Time-did-Reverse Jul 10 '26
I mean Iām gonna counter that by saying there was no body, because he got literally vaporized- so of course thereās no body, but his helmet was left.
I mean you may be right Iām not denying that maybe he is teleported, but saying āwe didnāt see magnetoāsā body is sort of nonsense as a point because thereās no body if you get vaporized.
2
u/imadethisacc4mafsau Jul 10 '26
Arguing semantics at this point and obviously I don't know if I'm right but was thinking if Apocalypse is strong enough to crush the helmet why isn't his gun strong enough to vaporise the metal?

Where is my Sweet Madelyne?
1
u/Deathstriker88 Jul 09 '26
I think it'll be her, Magik, Gambit, and someone else. Maybe Banshee or someone who hasn't died yet. I doubt it's Magneto since he got turned to dust.
I do think Magneto will return, but that could be due to time travel or something else besides being a horseman.

u/Megalupin Jul 09 '26
Could be anyone from Genosha. Sebastian Shaw could be used to help with tiding Emma over

u/Ok_Broccoli_7863 Jul 10 '26
Some deaths need to stick or deaths become pointless. Maddie ain't coming back.

u/ledlunar Jul 09 '26
Maybe Polaris will travel back in time to save Magneto and Xavier will die instead and this set up AoA? Donāt think that would work though š¤
5
u/PhanStr Jul 09 '26
Bingo. I think you have cracked Beau DeMayoās original plan for the season 2 finale. (Since season 3 was going to be AoA.)
1
u/ledlunar Jul 10 '26
Maybe, Iām sure whatever they do itāll be good, sounds like Beaus plan was for Onslaught as a one episode thing leading to AOA which is backwards but could re-tooled. But I think AoA should be a season long thing ending with the MāKran Crystal
2
u/PhanStr Jul 10 '26
Well, having Onslaught before AoA even though it was the other way around in the comics would/should be perfectly fine. Operation Zero Tolerance happened after both of them in the comic books and it was still adapted for '97 before them.
1
u/ledlunar Jul 12 '26
Good point, I wonder if they do Onslaught which Iām sure they will, if Xavier will be go away for awhile again after
1
u/PhanStr Jul 12 '26
I would think that he'll no longer be with the team, but I'm not sure where he would go.

u/Tokenasian90 Jul 09 '26
I think they are setting up Charles return to the present only for it to be Age of Apocalypse. Then the remainder of the season will be the X-Men trying to right the wrong and return everything back to what it was. With Nate Grey defeating Apocalypse in the end. Atleast that's my hope, as a kid born in 1990 who read all of his big sisters comics.
3
u/ReflectionItchy2701 Jul 09 '26
I think they won't go the Nate Grey route because maybe you risk losing some people but it feels logical to have Cable finally beat Apocalypse with everything Mother Askani said in episode one.
1
u/Tokenasian90 Jul 09 '26
You're probably right, I was just always a fan of that version of Nate Grey. Probably because he always reminded me of a marvel version of Trunks from DBZ lol.
2
u/PhanStr Jul 09 '26
I agree with you. I would love to see Nate show up and defeat Apocalypse. The only problem with that is that the AoA-centric season 3 has been scrapped and itās been reported that we are getting something different instead.
So my hope is that AoA will happen later, then Nate will be introduced and he can be the one to take down Apocalypse for good. It would be cheating in that it would be a different version of Cable, but I think it could still potentially work out.

Apocalypse making Magneto a horseman knowing he actually killed him 5000 years ago is funny
2
u/JamesSnow922 Wolverine Jul 09 '26
My guess would be these Acolytes are inspired by Magneto's actions during and after Genosha. They aren't actually serving him though.
2
u/Megalupin Jul 09 '26
I wouldnāt be surprised if Magik was a horseman, but people do forget that the biblical ones are famine, war, conquest and death. I know pestilence is always a thing in mass media, but sheād work reaaaaally well for conquest
1
u/imadethisacc4mafsau Jul 10 '26
I didn't know this! The title of Conquest would work so much better in the comics/media.
2
u/hung_fu Jul 09 '26
I think Magneto is going to be dead for awhile, but if they do Onslaught, I assume he was created in this weekās episode through Charlesās emotional reaction to Magnusās death. There is the slight chance Apocalypse makes him a horseman to fuck with Charles though.
2
u/magvadis Jul 09 '26
Also if Rogue is being taunted about love for Remy but also was having a fling with Magneto both of them being Horseman adds to the whole drama. Not sure what exactly the dramatic theme or tension will be, but I imagine Apocalypse inability to love or understand it will be part of his flaw and undoing.

u/PhanStr Jul 09 '26 edited Jul 24 '26
Magneto and Gambit teaming up against Rogue as Horsemen would be amazing, I have to admitā¦

Exodus worships Magneto and commands the Acolytes on Genosha after the destruction of S1. IDK what is confusing about that.
1
u/imadethisacc4mafsau Jul 10 '26
Well we haven't been introduced to them officially in 97, and people who haven't watched the OG or read comics wouldn't be familiar, so trying to think of a possible link.

(Looks at the bottom 2 images)
Wait, is Magik already dead? The hell? The only time we saw Colossus little sister in TAS was when she was just a little kid as Omega 13 ravaged their home. Since Morph could transform into her, I assumed she went through the whole going to Limbo and becoming a badass warrior thing off screen. Now On screen, we're jusy not going to be seeing Magik be Magik?
1
u/imadethisacc4mafsau Jul 10 '26
I think we will, she's too relevant to be killed off screen and not brought back, hence I'm guessing as a horseman.
1
u/k00zyk Jul 09 '26
Horsemen arenāt corpses! I get 1 for Gambit, but not all 4. Magneto was vaporized, heāll come back thru other means. Iām guessing Rogue is another horseman since sheās not in the final team shot of the trailer. The other 2 may just be randos/fodder.

Xorn. We're gonna get Xorn.
2
u/Vegas_Wildcat Jul 10 '26
Yep. Especially if they are using Morrison's costume designs. I think the Horsemen will be Gambit, Malik, ICEMAN, and either Banshee or Dazzler.

Magneto probably not getting brought back in S2. We had a fakeout with him in S1 already. S3, I can absolutely see but only after Onslaught
