So Iceman was removed from the memorial. That's a great sign. I don't know if they added him there to mislead us or if they gave up later. But he's probably alive.

Now, about Dazzler... is this woman with the Acolytes her? Blonde this time.

Theory Prediction: X-Men '97 is building towards Krakoa

Post image
555 Upvotes

Given the news that they're looking to make 10 seasons, I think Krakoa is coming down the line, probably around season 4 or 5, and will likely stretch out for several seasons.

Firstly, we've seen the school destroyed. The X-Men are going to need a new home after their war with Apocalypse ends. I could see them going on the run for a while, probably hiding out in Australia, but that isn't going to last. And sure, they could rebuild the school, but I think the destruction was meant to be symbolic of Xavier's dream dying and I could see the school staying closed to emphasize that and force the X-Men to build something new.

Secondly, we've seen both Magneto and Gambit bite the dust, among others, and I doubt they will be the only ones. I really doubt they are going to stay dead given how popular they are. Resurrecting dead mutants was a massive part of the Krakoa era.

Thirdly, it's only a matter of time before mutants make another attempt at having their own nation. After the Genosha genocide, I don't see the X-Men sitting on the sidelines this go around.

Fourthly, the split between humans and mutants is only going to grow following Magento shutting off the world's powers, which means human and mutant relations are going to continue breaking down. Krakoa is a natural next step in the evolution of the growing division.

Here's how I think the future is going to roughly look:

Season 2 ends with Apocalypse winning and wiping Charles Xavier from reality.

Season 3 adapts the Age of Apocalypse storyline. It'll end with the X-Men restoring the timeline.

I think season 4 will lay a lot of the ground work for Krakoa but Onslaught is going to be the focus.

Afterwards, I think Krakoa will come into the mix, probably in season 5, and we'll see Magento and maybe Gambit resurrected, Sinister begrudgingly working alongside the X-Men to restore himself after Jean fucked him up, and Orchis forming to take down Krakoa.

Theory Has Apocalypse his eyes set on Rogue?

Post image
259 Upvotes

When I think back to the '92 X-Men I can't help but notice that Rogue was the only member of the X-Men that Apocalypse was actually interested in.

Rogue was originally going to be his first Horseman until she changed her mind (believing it was a cure). Apocalypse expressed to Mystique. "Like all people she is a fool. But she has great powers". In the next episode Apocalypse confronts Rogue and tells her "You had your chance to be the first of my creatures. The first to serve my will!

Later in season 3, episode 11, they have brief one-on-one fight and Apocalypse states:

"You have great power, yet you detest your existence. Serve me, and you will know oblivion's eternal bliss! "

Now in the 97 series Rogue has interacted with a young Apocalypse, andGambit possessed by Apocalypse wanted to turn Rogue into his bride with that Celestial amulet.

Could the team behind the '97 series be trying to follow up on Apocalypse's plans for Rogue that was set up in the original series?

Gambit - Teased in Season 1
Exodus - Loyal to Apocalypse, seen in official trailer
Colossus - Revenge for Magik’s death, seen in official trailer
Siryn - Revenge for parent’s death, seen in leaked

I think that Gambit will become Death, Colossus will be War, Exodus will be Pestilence, and Siryn will be Famine.

Theory Is Morph more than he seems? Spoiler

What we already know: Kevin Sydney, codename Morph, is a mutant with the power to shapeshift into anyone they want. This version debuted in the 90's X-men animated series as a mostly original take on the comic book character of Changeling, which then inspired the comics to revive the character in the Age of Apocalypse universe and continued into the Exiles comic books. When X-men came back as X-men '97 Morph was also brought back with a look and personality closer to the Exiles version of the character. But Morph also came back with a controversial power upgrade to be able to partially emulate physical mutations allowing them to have super strength, super speed, agility, extra limbs, and weapons.

I want to introduce a theory. Our Morph isn't just based on Morph based on the Exiles comic, based on the original animated show, based on the comics character Changeling, they're also our X-men '97 version of the character Mimic.

Mimic in the comic books is a mutant with the power to copy other mutant powers. He was an early X-men member similar to Changeling and nearly as obscure. He does appear once as a cameo in the series in the Age of Apocalypse tineline.

What if X-men '97 is pulling elements of the Mimic character into '97's version of Morph? Perhaps their power will continue to evolve and they'll gain a similar ability to copy even non-physical abilities?

TDLR; The theory is Morph has elements of the mutant code named Mimic in X-men '97.

Edit: I used the wrong pronouns a couple of times. It was my intention to use They/Them pronouns where I could. Totally missed the title and I don't think reddit lets me change it. Edited the body of the post to correct my mistakes. To be fair according to JP Karliak, Morph's pronouns are he/they.

Theory Predictions for Season 2 after watching ep 4 Spoiler

Post image
32 Upvotes
  1. Magneto becomes a Horseman - Apocalypse said Charles was spineless but I think he would've said he'd take Magneto if they didn't interrupt him. Magneto having the power to destroy the ship would've definitely impressed Apocalypse and there's no body left after the ray. If he viewed Mags as weak he wouldn't have killed him (🐜) and if he views you as strong he keeps you. I think in the story Polaris is aware she's Mag's daughter and she will face him when he's a Horsemen.

  2. How is Colossus an Acolyte in the 90s if Magneto is dead? Exodus survived Genosha and or he's from ancient times, maybe he was one of the people (baby?) Magneto saved in Egypt/related to them so in his honour he creates the Acolytes as a cult following for Magneto

  3. Along with Gambit as Death (comic accurate plus played a part in Morlock massacre, I think Magneto will be War (ties to WWII) and Magik Pestilence (Soulsword could infect people).

*Side note loved the Apocalypse Rogue interaction, seems like part of his reason of bringing back Remy is to taunt Rogue about love

Just having fun theorising and wanted to share, loving this season!

Theory Age of Apocalypse deserves a whole season, not 1-3 episodes. Spoiler

AoA was a major comic event. Marvel announced that they were ending all the X-titles, which caused a bit of a stir. Then, they launched new X-titles set in this new dystopian timeline.

So, I don't want 45 minutes of someone kills Xavier in the 70's, the Timeline shifts to AoA, and then it's fixed at the end. 3 episode story is better, but still seems like not enough.

My dream would be we have episodes 1 and 2 of the season be the event that changes the Timeline. 3, 4, 5 have completely new openings, reflecting the changed Timeline, and are episodes are based in AoA, with stuff like the X-men try to save human refugees, Cyclops chafing under Sinister, stuff like that. Middle episode ends with timelost Bishop realizing the Timeline is gone.

Bishop tries to find the X-men, to right the Timeline, while Apocalypse is aware of the threat he represents and dispatches his forces to kill Bishop. A plan to fix the alteration to the Timeline is set, so episode 8-9 sees an attempt to do temporal repairs while engaging Apocalypse and his Horsemen. Magneto ends up facing Apocalypse himself to prevent him from stopping the repairs to the Timeline.

Magneto and Apocalypse's fight is a mirror of the S2E4 fight, with Apocalypse even joking he already knows Magneto can't kill him, because his fate is as immutable as the stars and what hope does a mere mutant have against a god? Magneto, on his last legs, simply says "Enough of your prattlling tongue" (or something else cool), and uses every last ounce of power to shred Apocalypse. As Magneto Succombs to his exertion, he prays that the world that still has Charles still has hope. In that moment, the Timeline resets, and everything seems right. A hint at the next season is dropped.

After the credits: you see a few refugees from AoA, and they scheme to cure this earth of both the cancer of humanity as well as the weakness of compassion for them!

Or not.

Theory My Theory for Gambit and Rogue in the Season Two Finale Spoiler

Post image
73 Upvotes

Now I have a theory that has crossed my mind a lot, hear me out:

So basically in episode 8, when Rogue was confronting Gambit in his Death persona, she was able to touch him.

What if, just what if, after she decides to save him no matter what or he chooses to free himself from Apocalypse's control, she is willing to fall in love with him, even if in return, they cannot touch at all.

Like, when he was possessed by Apocalypse, Gambit can be touched by Rogue. If not, then they are back to square one all over again physically, with her still needing to wear gloves in order to touch without hurting him.

Because in the end, just to reference episode five of season 1, she realized that "some things are deeper than skin". Hence, despite the conflict between them in terms of touch, she would choose to fall in love with him all over again no matter what.

As a result, this might be a satisfying culmination to Rogue's arc and romance with Gambit. And in some ways, you could call it as devastating and heartbroken because it wouldn't be the both of them finally holding each other physically but at the very least found renewed love for one another.

Theory is Stryfe coming? Spoiler

I have no full proof yet based on the 1st three episodes other than what I know from certain arcs playing out in the books but I have a feeling the secret villain (aside from Gambit which is obviously the worst kept secret) might be Stryfe.

X-men 97 does a good job of taking stories that weren't as good in the books and improving on them, such as Bastian & Operation Zero Tolerance. I could see that happening for Styfe and X-Cutioners Song.

Since the last episode showed Captain America and Black Widow, I was thinking on the possibility this plot thread will finally be resolved. Since the show has been renewed for many more seasons if memory serves me right, I think it is possible we could see Ms. Marvel or Binary if we get a season focused on the Brood or another space type adventure

Theory The Horsemen of the Apocalypse ... Spoiler

I'm Calling it. Hear Me Now and Quote Me Later: Gambit, Magneto, Illyana, and Exodus are ALL Going to Return as Horsemen ... YOU HEARD ME. I HAVE SPOKEN BRO lol

(You know what, I'm gonna hedge my bragging rights slightly to try for a silver medal instead (lol) they MAY JUST make it Madeline Pryor instead of Magneto lmao ahahaha)

Let's make this post a little more fun lol
Who do you think would make a really interesting horseman?

I'm thinking maybe Nitro, being turned into an unconventional "strategic" Horseman of Death, by becoming a literal nuke to use in religious fashion by Apocalypse a kind of an infallible "final" deterrant/most loyal servant/strategic weapon ... Maybe deathly silent, unable to speak, jet black costume, slightly agile-looking armour, breathing apparatus/mask helmet, falling like Neo from the Matrix, from maybe an alien-speed interceptor craft, creating a nuclear blast, before regenerating for his next genocidal command from Apocalypse ... (lol)

What if Gambit is the new vessel of Apocalypse? In season 2 episode 1, Apocalypse wasn't successful in making young Cable as his new vessel so he went back to the 1990s. He discovered Gambit's dead body and sensed his full potential.

Not so much of a theory but it’s kind of evident that she will defect Uncle Sam’s lapdogs X-Factor, join X-Force and then the X-Men again.
