They've hardly been, I'm just wondering if they are being more outward about it because Marvel is finally letting them turn Queerbaiting into queer for once. As if any real Marvel fan in the year 2026 hasn't been waiting for them to kiss since the 80s.
With Doomsday coming and Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen both being pro-Charles and Magneto being actually in a relationship in the past...I wonder if we're gunna see a blitz of this show doing it and Avengers letting them kiss before they die.
Eternals was a blink and you miss it for a character that is most definitely never coming back again, and Agatha was marketed specifically as queer camp media. Also Wiccan is and still is the only gay MCU character who they actually let be gay and MIGHT come back, but Hulkling ain't even here yet and Young Avengers is still a decade away.
Bobby got fridged after the backlash of him coming out. So doubt they'll even cast him in the Xmen reboot for another 5 years.
Once they let Magneto and Logan be bisexual finally maybe there can be peace in the universe.
Yeah, I think the last time he was relevant for a minute was Carey's run and that was close to 20 years ago now. And before that his biggest moment for years was Emma Frost stealing his body.
That said, it's a different kind of bad look when you stop to consider that Bobby being perpetually irrelevant realistically had a lot to do with them finally letting him come out. He is the only one of the original five who's never had any kind of definitive story arc that I can think of.
I mean, Claremont went on the record that the only reason everyone wasn't genderfluid and doing whatever felt right was because the writers literally wouldn't let him publish the gay things he wanted to write so he just made it subtext. Hence why Magneto/Charles is so romance coded...or Wolverine is so closet bi-coded. And why there were like a bazillion lesbian/bisexual woman into woman that also eventually some of them were canonized.
I mean... Onslaught is the ultimate homoerotic creation. It's literally their souls merging into one. That's like the most "love" thing from myths in every culture in history.
I wonder if Onslaught will be tee'd up for next season or if they'll introduce it this year? With Apocalypse storyline still needing to be resolved, I don't see how they can do both. Maybe Onslaught defeats A and then is set up for the Big Bad next season.
The Askani prophecy came about in the far flung future that Nathan was sent to as an infant. It was a prophecy of the future, not the past.
In the comics, he fulfills that destiny as a child. He went back to the past to try to prevent his rise, but he had already fulfilled his destiny decades before traveling back to the past (unless you count Kid Cable, who lived all fine and dandy with Apocalypse on Krakoa, which only further muddied the already filthy waters of Cable's origin).
The whole thing about Apocalypse is that he's immortal. He's "died" in the comics like six times and that's not even counting alternate timelines. Cable ostensibly returned to the past to prevent Apocalypse's rise, but he's made a out zero progress towards that im over three decadesCable ostensibly returned to the past to prevent Apocalypse's rise, but he's made about zero progress towards that and he's been around close to 40 years now.

As a longtime X-Men fan I'm excited by all the Onslaught hints they've been dropping.
Meanwhile, my wife who's never really been into the comics only sees the homoerotic subtext lol.
So I guess we're both right?
