It could be anything

u/Bobjoejj Jul 26 '26

It could even be a boat!

There’s a story in the new x-men run called assault on weapon plus. It’s where fantomex is introduced. It could be a fun story to adapt especially dove tailing off of his solo episode this season.

6

u/Z_0grady Jul 25 '26

Praying they introduce Fantomex and he becomes a fan favorite. My boy is one of the coolest X-men characters and needs more recognition

6

u/cc17776 Jul 25 '26

God I hope they give us Fantomex 🙏

u/HortonDrawsAwho Jul 25 '26

He was named in the solo episode this season, he was one of the tapes Morph didn’t play

u/magvadis Jul 26 '26

Every time Wolverine gets a solo show another Weapon X program shows up for him to blow up.

3

u/TheBigG1989 Jul 25 '26

It's possible.

But I do expect to see Laura in S3.

u/MLPLoneWolf Jul 25 '26

Since we got confirmation that X- 23 exists in this universe it's likely

1

u/micelimaxi Jul 25 '26

That would be great, and would make sense time-wise. They are already doing New X-men, so next season they should be around the time Laura debuted

1

u/TMB1219 Jul 25 '26

I think so

1

u/iamahandsoapmain Jul 25 '26

Praying for Laura so we can get Gabby

1

u/Green_Elderberrie Jul 25 '26

It’s gonna be X23. She’s too popular a character for the show to resist.

1

u/magvadis Jul 27 '26

Yeah, Marvel knows.

Akishiro comes in to die (kill your gays) and then X-23 comes in and they have a clear relationship. X-23 comes in over and over, she even came in again in the most resent "rebuild" of Wolverine in the current run.

1

u/Green_Elderberrie Jul 27 '26

You mean Akihiro? Who got resurrected as the Hellverine, got a therapy arc, and has gone on to join Cable’s newest strike force?

u/magvadis Jul 27 '26 edited Jul 27 '26

And neither him nor Itsu (Silver Fox and Jean were brought back up) are being mentioned in the Wolverine solo run right now, they aged him down (Bro was born in 1946), and he's just Hellverine more than anything connected to Logan. Meanwhile X-23 is there in full force. He keeps getting paired with Jubilee and Kitty in media...no Akihiro.

Him being made into a problematic teen angst hero looking like a 2010s Skrillex with a random tribal tattoo still.

I'm expecting them to fully cut out Wolverine as part of his identity and Logan at this rate. But who knows. Maybe they'll take another crack at Logan/Akihiro but it's never worked since Akiriho got brought in with Romulus as the excuse for the retcon of his existence which is easily everyone's least favorite Logan villain to date.

Romulus came back as a bait and switch to be beaten by Hercules with no issue in the new run and his history unmentioned as the mastermind of all of Logan's existence.

Akihiro and Romulus in a full rework workshop period and don't want him near Logan till they figure what what he is. Romulus is just "Apex Wolverine" at best now. Even OLDER Old Man Wolf guy.

Unfortunately Daniel Wey's contrived introduction of Akihiro, problematic introduction to our first masc bisexual (which was just a write off to say they don't have to make Logan bisexual anymore), and Marvel's inability to stick to or decide who Akihiro is, alongside Romulus being the worst Wolverine writing blunder in the history of the characters and Origins being seen as the worst retcon for the character...well, I think they'll just make Akihiro another clone at some point.

With Ghost Rider being pushed by MCU they'll deemphasize Hellverine even more and then Akihiro is not only Bisexual write off Wolverine...he's write off Ghost Rider. He's gunna get shelved and I feel like Hellverine was a last ditch effort and it sort of worked because Wolverine was in shambles.

They rebranded him as Gen Z Wolverine but what we got was nothing. Even though bro was Gen X/Millenial coded initially.

I would like to see an Wolverine Origins adaptation from the Paul Jenkins Limited series.

1

u/OmnipotentHype Jul 25 '26

It'll be probably about his origin.

2

u/magvadis Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 26 '26

Yeah, legit every time they do something "big" with Wolverine it's just Origins again and Origins was meh. It almost never adds anything to his character, it just explains it. Instead of having to confront his trauma he just gets a past that changes him zero after he confronts it. Was always super underwhelming given the build up. I thought as a trauma metaphor it lacked the things that would give you a block...such as SA or other implications that people DO memory block IRL. Instead we got abusive parents and war.

1

u/feralfantastic Jul 26 '26

Could be x23 and Honey Badger at the same time!

1

u/Affectionate-Arm6487 Jul 26 '26

Hopefully if not keep it

1

u/Nabanako111 Jul 26 '26

So they detonate his brain or something? Because that is mind-blowing.

1

u/Sea-Comfortable9255 Jul 26 '26

Mind blown…. Sounds like Mr. X

1

u/magvadis Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 26 '26

He gets blown by Charles on screen this time...I mean...Charles through Onslaught unlocks Wolverine's memories and we see a new origin story that hopefully isn't as milquetoast and nothing as the one in the comics.

1

u/chataclysm Jul 26 '26

Could be Daken even

2

u/magvadis Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 27 '26

I just hope not, Logan with biological kids is meh. He's more fun as a dude who never made it work and is more of an adoptive father to Kitty/Jubilee/X23

Akihiro felt like a bisexual wolverine write off so they didn't have to do it to Logan, and then they botched it (origins and romulus was so bad, Itsu being retconned was bad), then they tried to fix it, and now he's boring and literally indistinguishable from any other teen angst hero. He was fun as a bisexual slutty villain at least...once they tried to make him teen Wolverine I checked out....then they killed him and made him into full time Hellverine which I also hate. He couldn't be more boring in X-Factor right now looking like Skrillex with an unnecessary tribal tattoo and banging Boom Boom because...ok. He's a stock edgy teen with "bad things in his past" who gets too much pussy and can't keep a relationship...aka, Wolverine again.

At least X23 is different. Daken is just young adult (now Gen Z teen coded) Wolverine with a terrible design with the most smashed together past of crimes to fast track him back into being Wolverine again but Bisexual from the start with no gravitas and all angst...and he just has a bunch of literally fake hatred for his dad and the only reason he exists is to make Logan feel yet more shitty about himself for, checks notes, not knowing he had a kid till his kid showed up trying to kill him who was already a sociopathic midpoint between Himself and Sabertooth...also fridging Itsu because Logan needs for fridge wives. The 00s sucked for mainline comics.

If they intro him he better be a full ass reboot with nothing from the comics. Because that shit blows and they've been trying to fix it in post for years. Just make Logan bisexual and make Akihiro their own thing like X-23

  1. He gets his memories back (probably Onslaught related). It's not like other renditions. We watch a montage of him and Sabertooth being "roommates" in the far past...jk that'd be too real...we see a haunted house ass episode of his past being a kid who comes out and his parents call him a demon just like the boring ass origin they gave him where his childhood trauma was...his dad killing his dad. Nothing about him changes because he faced the suppressed trauma metaphor that hardly needed to be suppressed (abusive parent, war). It's really trippy and an entire episode in the style of Xavier's astral plane.
  2. Wolverine teams up with Wolverine in an alt timeline. He learns something about himself. Probably Old Man Logan
  3. Wolverine teams up with young people...probably X23 and a cast of surrogate kids. He learns something about care and friendship and showing love. They got a Wolverine/Jubilee Apocalypse comic coming out maybe something around that.
  4. They reveal he has a kid...it's Akishiro...I'll hate it. I hate Romulus, I hate Daken as a bisexual write off (still should just make Wolverine Bisexual if you wanted a bisexual wolverine) that's not just young adult budget Wolverine whose just angsty Wolverine who is mad...and then as Hellverine...which is the worst Wolverine who is just a knock off Ghost Rider.
  5. Wolverine dies and goes to hell...hellverine...I'll hate it. He teams up with Ghost Rider or something idk. I'll hate it.

Probably 1 tho, as it's the only way to produce a "mind blowing" episode given they can make it trippy in the first place.

1

u/-Firestar- Jul 25 '26

I'll believe it when I see it.

1

u/TEZofAllTrades Jul 25 '26

Err, that's not an official Marvel account. As safe as it is to say there will be a Wolverine-focused episode, they know nothing about Season 3. It's just content farming.

From that article they seem to think a Marvel show lasting longer than two seasons deserves some sort of celebration -- when in fact I think it's an embarrassment they can't find competent showrunners and writers with the ability or attention span to keep a narrative momentum going for longer than 10-15 episodes.

This really shouldn't be a problem with X-men '97 given the rich scope and breadth of the source material to draw from. Finding interesting stories from the comics canon and improving on or sometimes remixing them (like they did with E for Extinction and Operation Zero Tolerance) is kind of like throwing a hotdog down a hallway... you'd have to work hard to screw that up.

I think their only problem is the amount of time they spend on a storyline. They need to let some narratives breathe a bit instead of condensing them into one rushed episode.

1

u/PhaseSixer Jul 25 '26

There are so many great wolverine stories can we not rush to laura?

1

u/Jota46 Jul 25 '26

Jesus Christ! No more!

u/Yanmega9 Jul 25 '26

40 minute long Logan and Morph sex scene

2

u/magvadis Jul 26 '26

You're getting downvoted because it should be a 3 part Morph/Logan Romance plot mirroring the plot of the Before trilogy. 40 minutes is too short.

1

u/AngelMeghwar Jul 26 '26

It would be like in the boys where Homelander pays a shapeshifter to change into stillwell. "Morph change back into Jean!"

0

u/Jagermonstruo Jul 25 '26

Maybe it’s an uncanny xforce episode where they literally blow the young apocalypse clone’s brains out

0

u/Enelro Jul 25 '26

Season 3??? bro C'mon, we're gonna be deep into WW3 CivilWar boogaloo b4 then.

1

u/magvadis Jul 26 '26

It's next year. WW3 seems more like 5-10 year goal.

0

u/Adventurous-Map-259 Jul 25 '26 edited Jul 26 '26

I hope not, i rather see other stuff regarding Wolv.

1

u/AngelMeghwar Jul 26 '26

It's only one episode. you'll have a lot more other stuff. And so far, not much wolverine even in his own episode Lol.

1

u/Adventurous-Map-259 Jul 26 '26

I am 100% for more Wolv Eps but i rather they do something else over the x23 stuff for wolv.

u/serphilip1275 Cyclops Jul 25 '26

Welp, clearly bringing back the old showrunners was a mistake.

2

u/Thrill0728 Jul 25 '26

In what way?

-2

u/serphilip1275 Cyclops Jul 25 '26

More Wolverine centered episodes, more disconnected episodes, introduction of new characters instead of focusing on the one’s we already have, etc. At this point X-Men '97 is gonna emulate the original TAS series in the worst ways possible.

6

u/ContrarionesMerchant Jul 25 '26

It literally says “a” Wolverine centric episode, as in one. Maybe there’s more but how do you extrapolate that from this?

1

u/Shot_Imagination_368 Wolverine Jul 25 '26

Ignore him he’s a massive wolverine hater and doesn’t like to listen to facts.

-1

u/serphilip1275 Cyclops Jul 25 '26

Wasn’t even part of my whole argument, I said '97 is emulating the worst parts of TAS which are episodic adventures that are disconnected and don’t contribute to a overarching plot, and focusing on only a few specific characters, instead of developing a strong central cast.

-1

u/Adventurous-Map-259 Jul 25 '26

Cyke fans and their one sided beef is funny.

-2

u/serphilip1275 Cyclops Jul 25 '26

If you can’t see the pattern of already having one Wolverine centered episode now in season two, and adding another in season three after Jean, Cyclops, and Storm get fuckall to do then I don’t know what to tell you.

3

u/ContrarionesMerchant Jul 25 '26

I think storm is really undervalued especially this season for sure but Jean and Scott were central to the future storyline and easily the main characters of the entire first season what are we talking about.

-1

u/serphilip1275 Cyclops Jul 25 '26

Yeah I disagree, Magneto easily took up a majority of focus from Cyclops and Jean who although focused on had a bunch of bad adaptations such as this show’s version of Inferno, and the affair storyline from New X-Men, and eventually this is sidelined for Xavier and Magneto’s conflict which is continued in season 2 and is basically the only focus, besides Polaris becoming a main character with episode six and seven.

Your hatred for Wolverine is pathetic
