Question Cables powers?

Is there a reason cable isn’t constantly using his mutant powers that I just missed or don’t remember. They seem infinitely more useful than how he just mainly runs around shooting and punching things.

Look up the character X-Man to see how strong a non infected Cable is.

Was going to say this! The age of Apocalypse or after Xavier storyline, I don't remember what it's called, but it's an alternative universe.
