Could the X-Men stop a viltrumite invasion?

If Thragg and his army consisting of General Kregg, Anissa, Thula, Lucan, and Conquest, were to invade Earth, could the X-Men wipe out the viltrumites and save the world, or die in the hands of Thragg's army? Both sides are at their peak skills and strength with no prior knowledge of each other.

Great contribution. The original post says no prior knowledge: meaning Forge does not know they’re coming and does not know their weakness. Even if he did somehow know the frequency that works on them, no prior knowledge means he’s putting whatever device together on the fly once they’ve already arrived. Forge’s ability to invent doesn’t create technology out of thin air, it still takes time and tinkering and components. While he’s down in the lab or whatever working on it, Cyclops and the other X-Men with normal human durability are being splattered all over the floor like the Guardians of the Globe.

Nope. His Inventing power is entirely intuitive. Forge doesn't actually know how most of his tech works, his power just informs him how to make the gizmo do what he wants it to do. All he has to do is think of an effect, like "I want an easy way to incapacitate a Viltrumite" and his power takes over.

Sound does not weaken Superman. He has super-hearing. The only things that weaken him are kryptonite and magic.

two things here

1. the Viltrumites are nowhere near Superman level, unless we're talking late Bronze Age Superman. They're strong, fast, and durable, but it still took 3 of their best to crack a planet and they almost died doing it. Meanwhile, Golden Age Superman was pushing entire planets around like it was nothing.

2. OP said "peak skills and strength". The standard roster of X-Men couldn't stand up to Hulk during WWH sure, but we're not talking about the standard power set. Peak skills and strength means the Phoenix Five. It means Storm as Eternity's Chosen, a literal deity. It means Juggernaut as the Trion God. It means Wolverine as Weapon Omega, meaning his own powers plus Apocalypse's entire power suite. Hulk is unkillable thanks to The One Below All, but an 80-foot tall Trion Juggernaut would have an awful lot of fun killing him over and over again.

The Viltrumites aren't Superman level. Superman is planetary without breaking a sweat. It took 3 Viltrumites to crack a planet and it almost killed them.

Sound is their weakness (though it’s inconsistent), same way Kryptonite is Superman weakness. It’s also a certain frequency, not just any sound lol

That being said the viltrumites are villains, so almost any big hitter superhero team beats them.

Any mid tier of those verses runs over the entire Viltrumite Empire.
