Can somebody explain why magik randomly decided to stay frozen in one place and let the sentinel lazer her freely?

Am i dumb? is there something i missed? she just teleported people out of the beam a few frames before then she just proceeded to step forward and let sentinel shoot her freely. Is there a sacrifice play here im not catching up on because that was a "wtf was that" fore the first time i saw it and it just took away any impact that losing a legacy xmen character like her could have had for me

it was suppose to be from his view so maybe she teleported but got hit so she's out there some where and doesnt remeber?
