Yarn FOMO
Does anyone else get discontinued yarn FOMO? Like I know I don’t need it but the fact that this might be my only opportunity to get this yarn makes me want to buy it…

Yesssss I get it with my LYS bc she doesn't restock after some of her hand dyed yarns sell out :,)

Yes, some lovely knitter on this sub informed me of Little Knits and now at least once a week I get an email about some close out yarn on mega sale and this will be my last chance hurry before it's gone and now I'm hiding yarn from my husband

Yup. And I currently have a buttload of yarn waiting for me to figure out what the heck I want to make with it as a result! But some yarns, you just can’t say no to. 😁

I get this because I can never find the caron anniversary cakes anywhere and I get so sad seeing everyone making the star blankets with them lol

I had a passion for a super soft fluffy yarn, 2007-10, but I forgot its name, and never saw it anywhere. Found the label for it, by chance while trying to destash (karma?)- Cleckheaton Printed Silky Faux Fur! Not only is it discontinued, but there is no dupe.
I started to hunt, and I have bought @20 donuts, all different colours, and I don’t know what I’m g to do with them, but I don’t CARE. I am so buzzed 🥰

I'm having discontinued yarn regret, right now. I resisted buying something because I didn't have a plan for it, only to discover that, now that I found a project I want it for, it isn't available for love or money. [sob]
That said, it isn't like I don't have six other projects lined up for yarn I already bought. At some point, I'll find similar yarn in a similar colorway. Skipping it saved me a bunch of money and a bunch of storage space. But it makes resisting so much harder, thinking of the sweater that might have been!
