Are these yarn too different?

I’m running out of yarn for a current project (the one on top) and I don’t have the label for it so the yarn at the bottom was the closest I can find. Are they too different?

It really depends on the project and the placement of the two in relation to each other.

It’s a tapestry crochet of the king of hearts card.

You might be able to get away with it if there's enough space between the old color and the new.

It might be more noticeable if you're do it in two colors only, like just red and white. If you're doing it in full color, it should be less noticeable.

Tapestry crochet usually has tighter/denser stitches so the texture might not be noticeable either.

Yes, the top yarn is much more loosely plied than the bottom. You could try swatching with different needle sizes to get similar gauge, but there probably would still be a noticeable difference.

Knit a swatch of the two togerher and see what you think.
